Got a ribbon/break hp limit armor with two free slots for Wakka on my very first Dark Yojimbo kill which was extremely lucky😅besides that I killed him like 40 more times and never got anything like that again
Little tip I found useful: if you are using Rikku for the Tonberry trick, seeing as you are getting levels for her anyway when getting SLs for another character, send Rikku all around her grid without activating the HP nodes whilst you are finishing the grid for the other characters Once you do start filling out her HP nodes after all the other characters are done it makes it a lot quicker to travel across the grid, as she will get less and less AP from Tonberry as you fill the nodes, it makes it a lot easier if you are moving 3 or 4 spaces per SL. Just getting last few master armours for Kim and Lulu, then on to Dark Aeons and Penance. Any tips or advice for beating those with BHPL??
Good tip, I like it! The DAs are fine with BHPL; be careful with Anima. Use Full Life when she uses Pain on a character, and save Rikku's overdrive to mix a full HP and MP heal. Unfortunately I can't remember which mix it is!
@@DPhoenix237 Final Elixir is really good. For that you need: (Potion+Dark Matter, Hi-Potion+Dark Matter,. Amulet/Teleport, or Attribute/Special Sphere) :)
Also, you get the BHPL + Ribbon + 2 free slots / BHPL + 3 free slots for someone you already have it on, adding to the frustration of the grind when you have three for wakka and none for rikku lol 😅
I have over 80 hrs in this game and i JUST now saw that you could heal using abilities not in battle. Im using 1hp auron tricks so i dont like to touch saves spheres much to heal my other 2 characters. Risky business when fighting hard enemies
I've been very hesitant about my decisions moving forward in the postgame. Knowing how much of a grind it can be to customize ultimate armor, I don't want to use my items until I am absolutely certain my idea will work. So I'm thinking: • Auto-Haste • Auto-Potion (and carry only X-potions) • Break HP Limit • Ribbon Haste and Ribbon demand no explanation, and I want Break HP purely for vanity purposes. The important one is that last slot. I'm thinking, cos of the Celestials' damage calculation with HP, Auto-Pot is the way to go. But I'm not sure *exactly* how strong the dark aeons are, and my stats are still extremely low, relatively speaking. My frontline characters have only completed the default grid - haven't even added any stat spheres to the grid. I want to be at a place where I'm strong enough to beat Dark Yojimbo, cos I have 22 Dark Matter already and it sounds like it'd be a waste if I went over 99 by capturing every fiend in Spira.
No, no, no my dude...definitely Auto-Regen instead of Auto-Potion. 100%. Watch the whole of this Stat-Maxing BHPL Series. This order of completing things is very specific and saves a lot of time, and doesn't waste items and has properly optimised methods. Also check out the Ultimate Armour video in the FFX TIps playlist regarding the armour.

Why Auto-Regen over -Potion? As for the series, I don't want to rely TOO heavily on guides as I enjoy making most of these decisions and fumbles on my own (for example, I only beat Dark Valefor a few days ago and it was so satisfying, having not depended on guides, overdrives, or aeons). But considering how much time I could waste by making that one wrong choice, I've been looking all over the place for in-depth information. In spite of that text wall, though, I'll check out the series. While I don't religiously follow guides, I definitely supplement my playthrough with lots of secondhand knowledge. Thanks again!
@@Spritzkrieg To be honest man, everything I do or recommend is for a reason. I'm extremely good with efficiency and things of that nature. It'll be extremely difficult for you to do a proper 99K BHPL playthrough without referring to guides, or a lot of trial and error and wasted time. If you want to watch the Endgame decisions video then I'd recommend that, and consider how much of the walkthrough you want to use. You can save a lot of time using my capturing videos, and a TON of time farming 230 Luck and 99k HP using this stat Maxing BHPL series...but it's your call 👍

I'll definitely be checking out your guide on HP maxing though, really praying I don't have to farm the Ironclad guy cos it just takes so long. As for other stuff... my frontline is almost maxed already 😳. Couldn't work for a couple days cos I had to get a covid test first, so I used up my free time maxing. Tidus, Rikku, and Wakka have everything except Magic and HP maxed. Plus, I got REALLY lucky farming Monster Arena creations and I somehow went from 22 Dark Matter to 70 in a day. Haven't captured all fiends in Spira yet, so I'm pretty happy I'll be able to have two frontline members with Ribbon. Do I need two? Probably not. Do I want it? Oh, yeah. You don't really need all of this information, but y'know what, I'm just excited. I watched my brothers play this game when I was really young, and I haven't ever gotten past Kilika cos I would just lose interest by then. But I bought the game on Steam a couple months ago and - knowing a good amount of stuff from RUclips - I went in with the goal of beating all of the toughest enemies in the game. I didn't expect progress to be so fast in the endgame, and it's exciting now that beating these superbosses is becoming a possibility very soon.

Little bit! The major problem with BHPL is that it's so unnecessary. Nearly everything that you'd use it for can be beaten just by using 9999HP and Aeons to block certain attacks. It saves you, like...a few minutes in one or two fights, but takes 30+ hours extra to grind the HP nodes and BHPL equipment. Little bit daft! I do like the novelty of 99k HP and being able to tank an Oblivion from Dark Anima, though 😁
Dude.. Phoenix. I didint see this video sooner. I thought you needed 1 of everything captured to get the materials for triple overdrive. If i would have known that i could have maxed way earlier. I would have +4 everything but i could have gotten everything on the default grid

Thanks for the feedback, glad younlike the videos. I'll not be doing any FFX videos for a little while tbh, if at all. For BHPL the fights aren't much different other than Dark Anima. For the grid, I just did what was outlined in my Stat Maxing guide. If you end up a few nodes short you can always add one or two nodes at the end.

I just unlocked tonberry so now i need to farm the evil eye for weapons and doors to tomorrow so i can start power leveling :) is it possible to get max HP 99k and max str/magic without filling any of the empty nodes? Im on the ps2 version with standard sphere grid if that matters :)

Ah, did I say Dark Magus Sisters? I meant Penance and Dark Yojimbo. Penance needs Auto-Haste/Protect/Def+20%/Auto-Potion. Sell all the Potions and Hi-potions and keep 99 X-Potions. You start off the fight by hitting the arms 6 times (they have 500k hp) and then using Cheer 5 times, or Ultra Nul All. Basically you can never let the arms get a turn, you have to count how many times you hit them. It's quite a weird fight; I don't have any great strategies to add that aren't known already tbh; it's a 40 minute fight which is tough for me to do as I can only record 5-10 min clips. You can use that armour for Dark Yojimbo too, you just need to Dispel Break if he hits a character with Kozuka or Esuna/Remedy a character if Daigoro petrifies them. Hello I got Break HP Limit on an armor drop for Wakka’s after defeating Omega Weapon. How exactly does this thing work? I’m on my first save and I had already completed the game and I don’t think I’m able to get celestial weapons and their upgrades a such 🤦🏽♂️ I don’t think I can do most of this stuff in the videos unless I start over.
As far as I remember, the last save point is at the end of the Inside Sin area, so you should always be able to go back out and complete all of the end game content if you wanted to 👍

Yeah, it absolutely is. You'll just have to tweak the methods to use Auron or Yuna instead of Tidus. I'd recommend just doing a 9999HP playthrough there though; BHPL isn't necessary, and Ironclad farming is more annoying if you don't have Tidus available for it.
Hey man recently came across your channel and I love your content , all of yours videos have helped me but I have a question- I’ve spent a few hours a day for a week now trying to complete the Chocobo race for tidus and my closest time is 0.2 and I just can’t beat it- do you know anyone that I can pay to do this challenge for me in Nintendo switch or should I make a BDL weapon for tidus with strength +20%, piercing and triple Od to make up for the damage I’ll lose vs the celestial passive or will that still be inferior to his celestial ? I just can’t beat the race and after awhile I can’t help but keep thinking about the definition of insanity here
Heya, I don't know anything about Switch unfortunately so I couldn't advise you there. Have you watched my video on Catcher Chocobo? I'm guessing you have already...it is a terrible minigame and I sympathise with you if you really can't do it. It sucks. A customised BDL weapon would always be vastly inferior to a Celestial because of the armour-ignoring properties. I would instead recommend just not using Tidus. Auron and Yuna's Celestials are super-easy to get, so just use them, Rikku and Wakka. Anima's Oblivion (using Yuna's Grand Summon) can be used in place of Tidus for a lot of the farming methods, like versus Greater Sphere and things like that. That's your most viable route, I'd say
Phoenix237 I thought strength +20% on a weapon factors in to damage output making up for that armpit informing passive . For example , a celestial will hit 99k on a super boss due to having armour ignoring capabilities but will drop significantly in damage output once the character isn’t at max health anymore whereas a BDL weapon won’t hit 99k in those hits but will hit for higher sustained damage over time as it will be a stronger attack overall due to the 20% strength bonus and possible piercing in applicable situations , am I wrong ?
Depends on whether you want to go for 99k HP or not. I'd recommend Expert Grid if you're just going 9999HP; it's quicker and easier to do some broken stuff, like getting Yuna black magic.
Yeah, a BHPL perfect grid is 230 Luck and 99k HP, so zero Accuracy is needed. IIRC Evasion is shown in an earlier video. It's really easy; you just hit Pteryx twice and it drops 2 Spheres. You only need 60 Evasion with 230 Luck.
It means that Ironclad refills the other two character's gauges with Comrade. As a bonus it also means that you get 99 S-levels from Don Tonberry with only one hit of karma, too.
You get 99 of them for capturing 5 of every monster. After that, you get them as the rare drop from.any monster arena creation, or the common drop from Dark Aeons. As shown in the video, Dark Yojimbo is repeatable.
If you've killed him 5 times at once then he is properly defeated and can't be battled again. If you only fight him 4 times (like in the video) he resets when you exit the cave and can be fought as often as you need.

If you want to waste time, then you absolutely can! Not sure why you'd want to, though. If you finish fighting DY after the 4th fight, you have to run back to the save sphere at the back of the cave before resetting the encounter. If you just do the 1/2/4/5 fights, you use the teleport pad and go straight to the back of the cave, which is quicker. So yeah, you can...but you shouldn't 🤔
There's a problem with these kind of video. They put a video showing how to farm break hp limit by fighting a difficult monster creation boss with an celestial weapon being equipped and already have break hp limit! While we dont have it yet. Ridicioulous
It's called 'Episode 5'. I would've thought that made it obvious that it's part of a full walkthrough (which it is) that covers the entire game and how to get here.
Nemesis only counters certain actions; it counters regular attacks, Magic and Specials IIRC (like Steal) but doesn't counter things like Mug or Quick Attack. That's off the top of my head; you could check Dansg08's full video or the PBirdman guide for the exact mechanics 👍

Just went and looked up the Regen effect on the wiki, then thought about the benefits... Your recommendation is definitely better

Nope, it's not even close to possible. Not only this, but you can't do it without wiping off the 1/2/3 nodes.

A customised BDL weapon would always be vastly inferior to a Celestial because of the armour-ignoring properties.
I would instead recommend just not using Tidus. Auron and Yuna's Celestials are super-easy to get, so just use them, Rikku and Wakka. Anima's Oblivion (using Yuna's Grand Summon) can be used in place of Tidus for a lot of the farming methods, like versus Greater Sphere and things like that. That's your most viable route, I'd say
Phoenix237 I thought strength +20% on a weapon factors in to damage output making up for that armpit informing passive . For example , a celestial will hit 99k on a super boss due to having armour ignoring capabilities but will drop significantly in damage output once the character isn’t at max health anymore whereas a BDL weapon won’t hit 99k in those hits but will hit for higher sustained damage over time as it will be a stronger attack overall due to the 20% strength bonus and possible piercing in applicable situations , am I wrong ?

Depends on whether you want to go for 99k HP or not. I'd recommend Expert Grid if you're just going 9999HP; it's quicker and easier to do some broken stuff, like getting Yuna black magic.

It isn't bugged, it's just the standard grid.
@@DPhoenix237 Maybe i haven't played in a while, i saw one node surrounded by a ton of hp grids.
This is the last episode of the Break HP Limit; every node has been deleted and replaced with a +4 node at this point.
Do you use expert grid sphere?
No. For a Break HP Limit playthrough, Standard grid is always better because has a lot more nodes and you end up with 99k HP if done properly.

Yeah, a BHPL perfect grid is 230 Luck and 99k HP, so zero Accuracy is needed. IIRC Evasion is shown in an earlier video. It's really easy; you just hit Pteryx twice and it drops 2 Spheres. You only need 60 Evasion with 230 Luck.

Why keeping Riku’s Hp to min?
It means that Ironclad refills the other two character's gauges with Comrade.
As a bonus it also means that you get 99 S-levels from Don Tonberry with only one hit of karma, too.
how can I get 99 dark matters?
You get 99 of them for capturing 5 of every monster.
After that, you get them as the rare drop from.any monster arena creation, or the common drop from Dark Aeons. As shown in the video, Dark Yojimbo is repeatable.

If you've killed him 5 times at once then he is properly defeated and can't be battled again.
If you only fight him 4 times (like in the video) he resets when you exit the cave and can be fought as often as you need.

You can still go into the green room just dont fight the 5th form instead of the 3rd lol
If you want to waste time, then you absolutely can! Not sure why you'd want to, though. If you finish fighting DY after the 4th fight, you have to run back to the save sphere at the back of the cave before resetting the encounter.
If you just do the 1/2/4/5 fights, you use the teleport pad and go straight to the back of the cave, which is quicker.
So yeah, you can...but you shouldn't 🤔
There's a problem with these kind of video. They put a video showing how to farm break hp limit by fighting a difficult monster creation boss with an celestial weapon being equipped and already have break hp limit! While we dont have it yet. Ridicioulous
It's called 'Episode 5'. I would've thought that made it obvious that it's part of a full walkthrough (which it is) that covers the entire game and how to get here.

How come Nemesis doesn't counter your party with Ultima?
Nemesis only counters certain actions; it counters regular attacks, Magic and Specials IIRC (like Steal) but doesn't counter things like Mug or Quick Attack. That's off the top of my head; you could check Dansg08's full video or the PBirdman guide for the exact mechanics 👍
