    Not only thanks for making a video but thanks for editing it properly! It's a relief to have a short & to the point instructional video. This came in handy when I neglected to take a photo of how my controls were on before I did my bar & risers replacement!

    I just replaced my utilizing this video... great video so thank you Moto Tudor! FYI though: If you plan on replacing the grips... be prepared to buy and replace the throttle grip because the stock one is literally melted onto the grip. I cracked mine trying to get the right grip off. So buy a new throttle grip for about $10 online, get new grips, and a pro-taper handlebar and you are good to go! A Dremel tool really helps to trim down those annoying knobs. Also, have a buddy help you with this project and it goes so much faster. Took me almost two hours.
    Update: find a replacement throttle sleeve on eBay

    If you have a compressor blowing air under the handle bar grips will inflate them and they come off easy.

    I’m about to get a pro taper handlebar but first I just wanted to know which of the models can I get without replacing the original mounts that brings the bike. Any advice would be truly grateful

    Hey how do you like the Protaper bars so far? I'm thinking about installing some myself but cant decide if I want the ProTaper or Renthal Bars.... How do you like the Acribis Tank so far SO MUCH better then that puny little stock tank it comes with

    • @mototudor19
      @mototudor19  10 лет назад +1

      I really like them. You will need new end weights though to help minimise vibration in the bars. (stock end weights don't fit.) I got the ones that come with the Barkbusters so I did the whole setup at once. I took piss pore video of this and missed many steps so decided not to use it or show that part of the process. They are fairly straight forward though. I doubt you will notice much difference between the brands of handlebars going from stock. The Acerbis tank is great, it moves your legs a little further apart but you do get use to this fairly quickly. Gives good extra fuel distance over the tiny stock one and I don't worry about fuel anymore which I did a lot when I went for offroad rides through a state forest.
      cheers MT

    hi there, just wondering what bend you went with here? Found a deal on protaper bars with a (kx high) bend and was wondering if they would work with the stock controls

      These were the Henry Reid ones - SE. I have them on 20mm risers and have had them on 2inch risers. With the 2inch risers you will need to relocate the throttle cables to below the speedo. The clutch cable was a tad tight but ok. There is some adjustment in this and you can move it so there is less stuff in the way of it. Hope that helps.

    No need to get the Pro taper mount with this kind of bar ? So i guess the Stock butter bars ware 7/8 as well ?

    • @mototudor19
      @mototudor19  9 лет назад

      Langis De Grand Pré Yep the stock bars are 7/8s. If you go the bigger bars than what I got you will need larger mounts.

    Where did you buy your Protaper Bars from? What size should I get? Please provide a link if bought online.

    • @mototudor19
      @mototudor19  8 лет назад

      Voyage2NoWher3 I bought mine from Vince Strang motocycles in Australia. 22 mm bars will fit up to the stock mounts. They were the Henry Reid ones. You can get them from dirt bike shops etc. You could go 1inch but you would need adapters for these.

    any special glue used for the left grip reset?

    • @mototudor19
      @mototudor19  8 лет назад

      +Patrick Hill nar ...i just used a few dabs of super glue. You dont want too much has you might want to remove it again. Too little and it might start moving.

      +Patrick Hill You can use as well some hairspray (from your wife or girlfriend). I use it for years whenever I am changing grips.

    You mention removing the front brake line from the master cylinder. Is that really necessary?

    • @mototudor19
      @mototudor19  7 лет назад

      No you don't need to remove it. I don't think I say this in the video do I? So long since I looked at it. I didn't remove it.
