Nowell had terrific passes and led this game in scoring. It's like when I first saw Chris Clemons in the Summer League. These guys are ballers and deserve a shot in the NBA despite their height.
Perfect situation for him and the Raps as well. Unlike Clemons on the Rockets, they can actually give Nowell some minutes and develop his skills on both ends
Literally watched the first few plays from Nowell and you can tell he has it, im stoked to see this season with a very new look on the floor!!

@@sugu8403I really like Koloko but last time I saw him he needed to up his ball IQ, Brown is better and putting himself in position to score. Koloko might need more time

The do play a lil bit similar but they Markquis seem not be a better playmaker but don't get it twisted FVV is an elite defender even at his size.

Man i love Nowells game, this guy has heart, great work ethic and a high basketball IQ and this will lead to a nice career in the NBA. Keep it up young fella i will definitely be tuning in to watch you play.
Nowell is impressive, if he makes it to the opening day roster he would already have best court vision on the team. I do worry about him going up against bigger defenders though, he had some turnovers today where the length of the defenders was too much for him. It's going to be a bit of learning curve adjusting to the length of the NBA but he's got that DAWG in him I think he might just be special
In regards to Nowell, I'm excited for this guy. He did have a few turnovers where you could see he'll need to get used passing over NBA length and athleticism but his IQ is high enough that with playing time he'll figure it out quickly. Most of them he was just getting too excited and making the wrong type of pass, those overhead passes off the pick and roll won't work as much in the NBA with his height so he'll need to learn when to use it and when not to. His size can work to his advantage though, a couple of those if he fakes that overhead and throws a bounce pass he'll be able to great some great angles on the roller, Lowry was actually great at doing this.

Overused term. A generation is 25 years. LeBron James probably fits the bill as the last "generational" talent that happened. I doubt your guy is THAT kind of generational talent
@@marktrail8624 nah still generational, you have to be ELITE at that height, so for his generation of Hoopers under 6 feet yes he is the best there is. Generational is overused because its such a broad term. Lebron aint even generational that dude is like transcendent of all eras

GMs shy away from shorter players in every sport. It's a bias that he has to overcome, and use that rejection as his motivation to excel and improve.

Hopefully things workout for M. Nowell he's an awesome to watch...He had a really good ncaa tournament showing. He needs to get better with moving around on the perimeter because he was stagnet at times but other than that he's good.

Short players like Nowell can be really good offensively, but I struggle to see how he's going to be anything other than a black hole on defense. Plenty of foot speed and lateral quickness for sure, and quick hands, but no height and no wingspan. Also no bodyweight. Lots of NBA players aren't just tall but they're surprisingly muscular and well built.
He can easily average a career of 10-15 minutes a game to provide sparks, re organize the offense, then he’s probably back out the game, but he can play the role well for a long and well paid career.

im so sick the raptors should have just drafted podz at 13 markquis played great but when gradey shots are not falling what else does he bring to the table he played alright defense but he isnt the playmaker has the iq the handle just the all around game podz has but its just game 1 but podz in his first game was guarded by keegan and still found a way to be impactful
He had 3 steals got some rebounds look at active he good money if he got 10 points and ain't shot well he showed enough I'm comfortable with this pick.. the pump couple dribbles pull up he missed but it looked smooth

I don’t understand why he wasn’t drafted. Yea there’s the height but his quickness and passing are so exceptional and he’s a real good shooter too who can get his shot off due to his quickness so he should be able to play backup pg on most teams.
