She's gonna be so much better for hay this year when she's fixed! Interesting how they have build the clutch up and glad there's nothing serious broken. Are you changing the brake and clutch plates while your in?
Yeah we changed the lot and all seals we could get, its good to have but the ratio difference is huge so its rough changing without load on the tractor. its good for hauling heavy stuff on the road but not worth using when light havent done any field work yet the ratio will be grand then as its almost the same as dropping a gear. The clever bit was the sun gears reverse to make the tractor 30k with a reduction or as they are here 40k with an increase making 30 or 40 k an easy to change option.
Hello there mate great video nice to see u fixed your Mf but I do have a question I have a MF 9240 AND it won't go backwards when I switch into reverse only forward what could be the problem?
Cheer's im not familiar with that model tractor Is the fwd/rev control manual ie a gear lever or electric? if its manual start with checking the gear linkage works, if electric find the solenoids and check for power. It might be worth looking on the farming forum for similar problems with that model
@@bengoddard6898 it's actually electric switch 18 gears and as I was saying when I switch into reverse he doesn't go backwards ..I mean I could check if those solenoids are the main issue
@@dracony7649 i would start there, checking they get power and have a good ground if you google "mf 9240 problems" i saw some forums which mentioned gearbox trouble which be worth a read .
if the 3125 has the 16 speed gear box it could be , the parts that failed (an o ring and a piston seal) are cheap but if someone has run it in the speed which binds up for a long period of time it will need the small clutch pack and a larger single brake disc as they get hot and warp, these were more expensive carnt remember how much. if you wanted to email me i could try to find the invoice with exact prices .
@@gearsandtears7643 does high and low range work? will be on the 1234 gear stick pull it to the left to change , I think the speed shift on a 3000 series is a circular button above the 4wd and diff buttons , my tractor is 40k and the speedshift didnt work in the slower speed it would try be in both speeds and go tight. on a 30k model i think it would be the higher speed which wouldnt work .hope this helps be worth checking electrics/ solenoids before doing anything major .
@@bengoddard6898 it's doing nothing with the switch and the 1234 stick it makes a sound when it's tapped but won't change up to high Its in low low range constant The guy I bought it off today reckons he had a pressure gague on it and it drops oil pressure when it's actuated so it's pointing at a piston seal possibly a clutch or clutches while I have it split
@@bengoddard6898 update it's not changing anything on 1234 stick and not indicating anything on the dash for that high low The hi low switch is making a slight click at solenoid and indicate working saying it's in hi low but mechanics it's staying in low on both so it's very slow moving But it does drive fine forward and reverse

One difference is the 3125 has a dry pull type clutch like a regular tractor

I'm in the process of buying a 93 3125 sounds like the same issue
We're the parts expensive?
