A better look at what a flail mulcher can do on a 3 ton excavator. Takeuchi TB125 and a Robustrack LS3 600 with boot style flails, clearing around another industrial unit very similar to some previous jobs ive filmed although a lot less brash left to deal with when using the flail.

The tractor is beautiful.
Can this engine handle this type of towing for long periods and on hills? What speed can you maintain?
Good machine? Thinking of buying one.... Not a whole lot out there this side of the pond...
Yeah its doing well ,compared to other skidsteers having 4 wheel motors is far better IMO than the typical oil filled chain casing setup more room in cab quieter and less to cause issues on older kit (seals ,bearings sprockets and chains to wear out) Also H pattern controls are easier to get used to if you drive other kit. Kubota engine so no issues with parts there but for hydraulic pumps and valves ect would be a case of finding equivalents from hydraulic suppliers or having things rebuilt . With Belle not making them anymore and getting the machines getting on in age parts are hard to find but its a simple machine.
Thanks for the reply. Didn’t realise they were 4 motor, that certainly appeals. Might grab that one that’s on eBay.

Looks to do the job as well or better than a hay bob
I mow 9 parks in two days every week with the 7210 ..john deere before i got this so much smoother just wish i had more leg room im 6.4 lol
Hey man! Hope you are doing well! We must really think alike, because first we bought the same machine, and now looking for a flail, I found this ls3 800 from robotrack.. is this the flail you are using? would you rexommend something over it for the price? Thanks for advising me on the mavhine when I was abot to buy it before! Love it! God bless tou
Cheer's my flail is an ls3 600 if im not mistaken the ls3 is the heavier built model so the one to go for doing mulching. i prefer the 600 (narrower cut ) as it spins back up to speed faster again for heavier work id say its faster than a wider cut that takes longer to recover the RPM,s
@@bengoddard6898 aaa thanks so much for clarifying that.. how heavy is your unit? do you think a unit weight of 250kg would be too much for this machine to handle without beeing too tippy?
Hola alguien sabe donde puedo comprar algunos repuestos para mi fordson super mayor o algún manual de mantencion, muchas gracias
Czy mogę prosić o numer WhatsApp? Chciałem o coś zapytać
Just built a cab on my new '62 Super Major, think it was allways outside, diff. lock totally imp. to move, front and bonnet rusty too.
Been watching your hay vids which are great!. How wide is your flail mower?
Cheer's the mower is a 225 so 7ft cut in hindsight would've preferred 8ft
Hey mate cracking video. what weight is the excavator and what’s the overall train weight how did this effect your mpg. Where did you get the suspension bags? Cheers
Cheer's the digger is 2.8 so with trailer 3.5t on the back then 5-6t train depending on how loaded the truck is, Mpg probably drops from 20 to 16-17 at a guess i only tow local so haven't checked on longer journeys . The air bags came from john craddock's but i think there also on ebay and other sites just search up Air lift, you get different ones for 110's ect as the springs are different diameters . im really pleased with them on the 90 stops it squatting with weight without the ride being any rougher empty .
It's nice to see somebody who knows how to drive the tractor properly. Easing the PTO into gear smoothly and not slamming it in 👍
aye that's a good eye you have, that ford has a sharp pto brake as well so if the machine has no overrun clutch you have to ease it out. we had a topper where if you weren't careful the blades would jam in then come out with an almighty bang next time you set it going. 🤣
i learnt do drive on a dexta. we had one for years pulling a jones mk10 baler. when things were simple.
It's such a light crop that I would have put two rows into one so that you feed the baler properly to get a better bale.
Good job! What is the size of the bucket that you use ?
Grand job👍.that tilt bucket is spot on for that banking😁👍
The tractor sounds very well indeed and would take double that load easily,I have a 1967 Massey 165 that is of similar power.
After watching all your videos on this project it's good to see the finished product. You did a very good job clearing this neglected ditch.
Gonna watch all 11 parts of the ditch clearing videos. So far I’m impressed with the quality of your work.
Cheer's much appreciated 👍
Nice machine, do ya mind tellin us what it cost ya
Perfect condition with pulley still attached. Sounds good also
Tilt bucket is a nice job… have I missed it before?!? Looks like they could do with stacking all the waste soil and getting the screener and crusher in to make use of the rubble
Yeah its great i had planned on a vid for it but footage didnt come out right and im now considering swapping it for a different shape/style as its really heavy for what it is not ideal for towing or doing delicate work. Yeah the estate does have a pile for screening and another for crushing usually next to the next buildings for demolition and it all gets done together 👍
Great transformation of the overgrown surroundings. Glad to hear that the building is also be improved. Do you know a little history of the building?
A well restored major

Nice to see her working, definitely done a tidy job on her as well👍. A nice windscreen would be good as well, especially doing the muck heap 🤢🤣🤣
Cheer's Yeah no windscreen definitely keeps you from being too rash when doing muck , the heavy stuffs not bad just the straw that blows around ,im waiting to come across some perspex to try a "slot in" windscreen 👍
Hi! Really good video on defender towing 🙌 I live in Norway and consider buying 110 td5 for towing mini digger (2t plus trailer 1t)thru the steep tunnels ( steepest part is 8.5%. Length of the incline about 1.8km)😅 do you think 110 td5 cc is a good choice for that type of towing? Thanks in advance for any tips 🙏
Thanks , Yes a td5 should be fine for towing and can always be tuned/re-mapped for more power, id have a good look at the chassis and running gear . 👍
@@bengoddard6898 thanks for quick reply 🙏 your truck towing flawlessly on the videos! Did you do any towing thru hills with that digger?
hi, i have a defender td5 + a 2.5t excavator on a trailer, it's a good set
@@mieszkosoczewinski3304 Yeah it does well, i have an exhaust gas temperature gauge i do sometimes have to slow down as it can get a bit hot
Any Land Rover has a towing capacity of 4 tonnes on the Sahara, since 1952 and I saw in Northern Cyprus in 1981 and 1982, many "construction teams" consisting of one Series I or II Land rover, 5 to 7 peoples, 3 or 4 wheelbarrows and many pickaxes an shovels on top of Land Rover, a concrete mixer as a first trailer and an approximetly 5 to 6 meters tower crane as a second trailer under 45 celcius on the shade. If you not believe, consult the Land Rover international magazine or ask directly to the Land Rover.
👍
You could do with a muckgrab on that 🤪. How’d you find your first proper go with it? Think I’d wish I was 3ft higher to see in the trailer lol
Yeah occasionally id be pulling one of the leavers the wrong way probably muscle memory from driving diggers but ive got it figured out now , With the height on the first load id get out and look in the trailer once in a while but soon found the technique to get the muck to the other side of the trailer the grab is far better for that as you can chuck the much as you tip. You do have to crane your neck a bit but il take it over shunting round the yard on a tractor also soon learnt once the bucket is above the sideboards there's no need to watch it tip just feel for the end of the travel .
@@bengoddard6898 think I’ll stick to me loadall for the moment lol. Guess it’s like everything, you need time to get used to it
@@casto- yeah , if you can justify a dedicated loader it has to be one of these or a telehandler for me .
Nice to see the Takeuchi earning some brass. Your definitely getting better with the flail. How are you finding the flails are lasting with the spoil/stones you find with it?
Great vid, like the digger! I got an old pel job that smokes quite a bit and was thinking of changing the injectors. Was it blue smoke you were getting? Im worried mine is running on oil as well as diesel. Its ancient but runs, digs and drives.👍
ok so interestingly ive just had the cylinder head off this one and replaced the valve stem seals which has cured it again, changing the injectors lasted a couple of months then it started smoking again more white than blue which prompted looking into it burning some oil and as such the valve stem seals were knackerd, we also de-coked and re lapped the valves which will have helped . I did send an injector out to get it tested before shelling out for new ones and they were knackerd. it wasnt expensive to get them tested so was worth it to know before buying new
Very nice video
Your a better man than me welding upwards! The grab will be good, surprising how much you use it when you have one!
Cheer's its not pretty but just have to get after it getting better as i do more vertical stuff , yeah the grab seems to stay on round the yard, in need of some pallet forks next. The skidsteer does all the loading now runs rings around owt else to be fair.
@@bengoddard6898 yeah she’ll be handy round your yard rather than the tractor.
If carlsberg did exhausts 🤣🤣🤦♂
Love that gadget man
Can you post a video on how to repair the separator and adjust the oil leak?
Good, job
hello, i have a similar set, defender 110, tipper trailer with mini excavator
Seems like a fun attachment! I'm about to buy a used 2004 tb125... any words of advice for me? 6000wh on it.. thanks take care!
Nice , there a good machine so not much past the normal excavator checks and tests ( can the machine lift its self at tick over / very few revs) run it for a while get it hot how do the hydraulic pumps sound is everything smooth ect worth checking if the auto idle works there's a manual throttle lever and cable so no big deal if it doesnt joysticks
@@bengoddard6898 Yeah.. for the price.. I just think its an awesome machine... was looking at kubota u25.. but small leg room and no foot pedals killed the deal for me.. really.. I just like how tb125 looks.. sounds.. performs... the guy did tell me there is some travel on the pins.. but in good working order.. thanks for the tip about lifting it in low rpm.. if God allows we could become tb125 bros soon 😂
Looking good mate👍 20ltr a day is nout when you think a tractor will burn that in an hour or so 🤪. Looks like it’s been a decent buy for you
Cheer's haha you need to turn that mb down 🤔my massey might not be so thirsty then lol
@@bengoddard6898 🤣 the mb uses less than the new Holland! And it’s more hp🤣🤷♂️
Finally took the jump and got myself one lad .. some evening your free lad could you do a quick run through on how you wire the constant power off the switch in the joy stick
nice flail what kind is it hope to see more vids
Cheer's its a Robustrack , think its an ls3 600 fitted with hedge cutter "boot" flails , ive a video when i first got it and some more to follow has been very useful clearing land .
No
Looks a lot better now! Needs finishing off now 🤣🤦♂️. Yeah, think I’d have taken the full 8ft out from the side of the building, it’s just turned it into a trench to fill with water 🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️
indeed cause its not like the gutters and fall pipes are in good order😂 been back recently and all the stones are clean with the water running down . starting another on that row tomorrow armed with the flail this time 👍
Great job you done 👍👍
Great video
Super 😉
Brilliant video angle! Plenty of view and sound! Keep them coming..!
Towing great! What do you think the total weight is of your trailer and backhoe? Wondering if it could pull my boat
3500KG gross and not a KG more if you work for our DOT equivalent 🤣
