Massey Ferguson and Fordson/FORD were the worlds "main drive" of agricultural motorisation... Just look at the numbers of tractors built under licence of this two brands...
They were so so slow on the road much prefered the big fords in that respect . The john deeres were slightly faster than the fords but were very much more expensive the perkins engines were gd and pulled well . Though .
Massey never really made anything that was worth a Shit ! The only thing they could hang they're hat on, was the Perkins Engine (Inline) and I don't believe they made it . The V8. Perkins was a joke! Now the Guys in management are planning to resurrect MF by gutting Gleaner design, using the White design, painting IT RED! and calling it a Massey F___ ! The Gleaner Rotary Design is the neatest layout out there. Theres 4 or 5 things that could be done to the Gleaner to make it unbelivable ! Management destroyed , AC . The Engineers at AC were amoung the BEST !!! How sad its gone !!
My 1st and 2nd tractors were a 2675 and a 2705. Those were the days!
