The History of the Ford F-150 and the Ford F-Series | A long lineage of America's best selling truck

One of America's and the world's best selling vehicles is the Ford F-150 and it has been around for decades. Starting all the way back in the 40's, the F-150 has been an American icon and continues to be. Many of us ask, "so what does the history of the F-150 look like?" Well in this video I'm going to be going over the history of the F-150 and I'm going to be going through all the F-150 generations to bring you up to speed on what has been going for the last 60+ years. I'll also be covering the history of the F-Series as well, which includes Super Duties. You'll learn about what the F-150 used to look like, when the F-150 switched to aluminum body panels, when the F-150 first came out, what the first and all the past and present F-150 models and trims. I own a 1986 7th gen and love that it was “designed for aerodynamics” while being basically the most rectangular truck ford ever made (save for maybe the 8th gen). Also love that the factory original fuel injection system still works perfectly. Highly doubt anyone’s running a 305 Chevy from 86 with the factory carb working right untouched.

No doubt about it I had a friend who bought a Pontiac grand-am with a 305 with an auto transmission. He's since swapped it out with a 350 SBC. Because the 305 only made 180 horsepower 😂
Mated to a 4 speed automatic, the thing could barely outrun my Pontiac VIBE. 😂🤦‍♂️

First gen lightning was NOT supercharged, that was the second gen,it also had a 5.8 (351) the second gen came with a 5.4. 2:45 minutes in and there already is a lot of this you messed up on
