I don't think it's fair for you to completely separate the two.
This man did choose the company he worked for and had a say in how it was run, that company has one, if not the highest rate of claim denile, and is responsible for millions of deaths, bankruptcy and suffering.
There really aren't any many equatable jobs, other than someone high up in the military but usually that is in war and not the persons own countrymen. When it is, the terms and definitions would be terrorists, rebels, perpetrators of genocide.... and usually people do rejoice at their demise or capture.
Would you say that is wrong too and their death is not about the actions they took? So I must ask you what makes this man so different from those people? Is it that he is technically working within the law, or more accurately outside any proper regulations, yet to be put in place and with how things stand, they are unlikely to be made anytime soon.
Is it actually surprising to you that given an opportunity to express their feelings on a lifetime of the increasing oppression, or even the forethought of seeing where this oppression will lead us, people have chosen to support the only one they see saying enough is enough. Or is murder not murder if it comes with a job title?

Joy may be the wrong word to use, but when a system is so obviously evil, broken, and wrong exists here do we really get to ride the moral high horse and shame someone willing to deal a blow towards abject evil, someone taking action for once. It seems the left relishes in the wrong use of violence, and the right shy's away from it all together. Both of these are wrong I mean how can we defend the revolutionary war over small taxes and principles but be upset over people killing over poor healthcare that KILLS people????? Violence can be righteous, but only history will tell if this leads to anything righteous. Will we really sit here and not admit to feeling righteous joy at a blow to such an evil system, where even so soon after, we are seeing changes for the better like with anthem. If the powers that be will not handle this in court or in office for the past 50 years or so while people are abused and killed then it leaves little choice and this time for real not some misguided vengeance like the left spews. I rejoice about Stalins death who killed thousands through depriving them of food, much like I rejoice at a blow being dealt to a system that deprives people of sometimes the simplest health care. If you blame this man then you were a red coat in the revolutionary war someone who can not stomach real righteous uses of violence. It is why we have the 2nd amendment.

I think you didn't do enough research on this woman. She has expressed the full opinion before multiple times which had to do with finally getting attention for the thousands of deaths each year caused by healthcare insurance companies policies.
She was about to say "she felt joy from the attention to the broken healthcare insurance model in the US"
But she kept being cut off and he hyper focused on one word.
I'll admit she shouldn't have said things in the way she did and chose her words poorly, but millions are actually happy the CEO who allowed policies that denied or delayed lifesaving care which resulted in 4K to 40,000 injuries. For example very prominent voices online like Flagrant and Joe Rogan said "I don't think anyone's shedding tears over the gangster CEO"
Personally I don't think it was moral to kill the CEO, and it won't fix the company without mass attention of the problem and a massive push to change the law. Another greedy, crooked, slimey CEO will replace him and continue the profit over people's lives model they have now.
United healthcare insurance company has the largest denial rate at 34% of their patients/clients claims are denied and much more are delayed with almost all of them being expediently necessary

What will and is happening is the destruction of the middle-classes and more and more money is being taken from the poor and given to the rich. Make no mistake this is fascism in action. Not the fascism they cry about or the democracy they cry about but real fascism. The total state control of the means of production. People just lie constantly so you have to look at their actions not take them for their word.
Look at the UK. People are being asked to express the political views of patients in the NHS and to act as informants of those views while being carers as midwives. Those in power have consistently treated all life as disposable, so it doesn’t bother me when one of them dies. They’d just as quickly send me off to some foreign regime change war, or deny my coverage, and no one but my family would shed a tear for me. Millions wouldn’t mourn me the way they’re mourning this guy. To them, we, the 99%, are insignificant data points. This is the only language they seem to understand.

I’m not against CEOs as a whole. Let me be clear about that. My issue is with certain industries, like insurance companies and, to some extent, weapons manufacturers. If you’re the CEO of a company that holds power over life and death for regular people, I’m not shedding any tears at your funeral. If you're thje CEO of Nestle, and you don’t believe water is a basic human right in Africa, I’m not feeling sorry for you. On the other hand, if you’re running Lego, well, good for you, keep those profit margins up, I guess. Unlesss you're literally exploiting children in Vietnam, I don't care. Its the industries that play with human lives that I have a problem with.
People are talking about how he was such a good guy, mentioning his family like he was beyond reproach. Then you dig a little deeper and find out he and some associates were in the middle of a $100-million plus lawsuit over questionable stock trades. That pretty much explains the situation. Don’t get me wrong, no one deserves to go out like that, but let’s not pretend these executives are all heroes. Healthcare CEOs make tough calls that often leave people without the care they need, and some of those decisions cost lives. I kinda sympathize with his family on a human level, but the industry he worked in plays is essentially a legal Mafia. So it's like feeling sad for the mob bosses daughter when the mob boss gets wacked. Like oh no, she lost her father, but the world lost a criminal who gets away with it because technically he never commits any crimes, he disguises it. It's just that the mafia disguise their crimes by making the underlings do them, whereas thesese CEOS disguises their crimes through legal loopsholes and corruptio, and all of a sudden everyone is acting surprised when one of their own gets what was ineviatebly comming to them a blind person would have seen it comming a mile away.
The whole “he was a brother, a father, a son” argument feels incredibly hollow to me. It’s the same reason I find it hollow when people defended Joe Biden pardoning his son, saying it was a father’s duty. What about all the fathers whose sons were locked up because Biden pushed for mandatory minimum sentences? That “he’s a father” angle doesn’t really butter my sandwich.

Yeah, and people really don't want to live with the alternatives they are implicitly supporting.
Health insurance is a pain to deal with. But it's far better than being stuck with a $300k bill because someone hit you with their car and you spent a week in the hospital. And it's also far better than dying because you were unable to get treated promptly, and died as a result of hospital staffing shortages. And it's better than having your insurance premiums triple because your insurance company isn't allowed to deny claims anymore. There is no conceivable alternative to the system we have that doesn't TOTALLY SUCK ASS. This isn't a game. This shit is complicated. It's hard to make complex systems better. Throwing the whole thing out is basically guaranteed to make it much, much, much worse.
I also hate the repeated claim that "many, many people are dying because of denied claims". They're not. This claim is so absolutely absurd. I challenge these people to find ONE person whose life-saving treatment was denied UP FRONT, prior to the treatment being administered, and that this led their provider to refuse to treat them, and this refusal resulted in their death. Just one. Because I simply don't believe it's happening with any regularity, if it even happens at all.
People who need life saving treatment get that treatment. Then the hospital bills their insurance after the fact. Then the insurance company haggles with the hospital, settles on a figure, and pays it. Then the patient gets billed for their portion of the cost, as specified by their agreement with the insurance company.
Does it suck sometimes to get hit with a bill for medical expenses? Sure. Does it suck that people who pay their bills are often subsidizing the cost of treatment for people who don't? Or for people whose insurers have denied claims? Sure. Is anyone dying as a result of denied claims? No.
The people who hate the insurance companies are, as far as I can tell, just greedy hateful people who want to force SOMEBODY to pay for the shit they want. They don't care whose head the gun is pointed at, they just want their stuff.

    • @dafunkmonster
      @dafunkmonster Месяц назад +1

I suspect people are quick to blame the insurance company because their only interaction with the insurance company is a claim denial. Otherwise, they never interact with them. There is no "positive" counter to that negative experience. It's not like you go to your insurance company, and get a fat check from them to pay for your treatment. Under normal circumstances, the insurance company only talks to your doctor.
Meanwhile, the doctor never has to have the unpleasant talk with you about cost or billing, because they only have that talk with your insurance company. So you will naturally have a bias toward viewing your doctor (the one who only ever helps you, and never costs you money directly) positively, and your insurance company (who only ever contacts you to give you bad news) negatively.
So your doctor might be ripping you off hard, but you'll never see it, because you don't even shop around. And your insurance company might be trying to stay afloat because they misjudged how much you were going to cost them, and are trying to negotiate down hard and will deny any claim they can just to keep from hemorrhaging money. But you'll see the doctor as the good guy and the insurance company as the bad guy.
This is the problem with third-party-payer arrangements. It disconnects the service from the cost, in more than one dimension.
