One thing I noticed, you didn't talk about was how exactly the handling changes with the drive modes too. I love my santa fe hybrid and I noticed when you go into sport that the steering becomes a little more rugged
Hi Joe, great video as always! I'd be curious to see what you think of the new 2023 Outlander PHEV, either an SEL Touring or SEL Premium trim level if you can find one. Similar to this Santa Fe I think it really gives the RAV4 Prime some stiff competition (especially considering they should be easier to find). The interior in particular really is a step above but the engine is no slouch either. Having the (tiny) third row really puts it in a class of its own though.
@Matt Mekhaeil Yeah that's weird cause that profile name and pic was totally different yesterday. Besides, Lori wouldn't talk like that. We all know this I don't think she'll use the word 'dude'. And also I've been to her channel page before and it doesn't not like that

Gas will still dominate for at least 20 more years! EV's are being too optimistic....There will NEVER be enough charging stations in populated US cities were everyone owns at least 1 car. Only in America where a family of 4 owns 2 cars, 1 truck, 1 or 2 SUV...
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video my sister just took possession of her toyota RAV4 prime as she had the toyota venzaV6 and she lives in Vancouver
Thank you, Hyundai, for doing something different than gloss black and implementing wireless connectivity. Overall this manufacturer did a phenomenal job on this SUV.
Yes, the Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid's _Limited_ trim gives rear passengers an AC outlet, rated at 150W, as standard equipment, yet the other trim, SEL Convenience, lacks an AC outlet even as an option [17:28]. And, true, neither of RAV4 Prime's trims, SE and XSE, offers rear passengers an AC outlet, yet the XSE trim's optional Premium package has in its cargo area an AC outlet rated at 10 times the wattage, 1500W, rivaling a household AC outlet.
Yes... But the Toyota fan boys will not be moved, and so to each their own. But the Santa fe phev is more luxurious for the price and is very efficient for its size.
Good review Joe. Question, would you take this over the Santa Fe Limited hybrid AWD? Other reviews note what you said, the plug-in hybrid acceleration is surprisingly slow. Dollars and government rebate aside for the plug-in, I think the non plug-in hybrid is a better buy with the acceleration really close. BTW, your to kind about RAV 4 interiors as they aren’t close to the Santa Fe.
Should have charged it up before going on a drive, that was always in HEV mode. My biggest complaint, the battery gauge only drains to 1/4 left and saves that remaining portion for hill climbing assist.
Hey Joe! Name is Chris. Love the content you put up on your channel! I just want to clarify that Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis for some reason don’t do Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in a wireless connection on their bigger screens, but they offer it on their smaller 8 inch screens. Pretty bizarre, but other than that, I’m digging it!

I own the 2022 santa fe for the last year. I love it and I did not buy it to win races. For local drives we are getting 1.7 to 3 l/100 km. In the winter is it much less. Running only as a hybrid no plug we get about 7 l/100 km. The inside of the limited is absolutely fantastic. The apple car play is not perfect and could use some improvement. Primarly the wireless charger makes the phone too hot. the wipers are not really designed for winter conditions. The say they are made for aerodynamic. No one gives a shit about aerodynamics in a winter storm. Ideally they would install a led light on the charger area to assist with the plug in. 3.5 h to charge with a level 2 and 11.5 hours to charge with a level 1. Would i change the Santa Fe for any other PHEV? NO. My wife's friends have outlanders and they are all jealous.
I test drove this car, LKAS works good just as good as honda as far as i could see. Good Travel car but the engine is a dog...and handles like a boat. Not sure if the screen is wireless android yet, probably not. UI on the screen is not comparable to android on honda now , since android /google is built in. Will not be supported by the new 7500 tax credit since battery and most parts are not domestically made. The one thing i liked was at night the buttons are lit up and is like a cockpit. The mitsubishi outlander phev is a much better car for the money as it has a better engine and battery for practically the same price. I am waiting for better options to come out as HTRAC is not all that IMO.. Forgot to mention you should test the key fob to see if the windows roll down by pressing twice on the unlock button and holding, honda is known for this feature . I do not think it works yet , only on the new Tuscan since 2022 as a easteregg "not advertised". This car was a pain to get in 2022 with dealer markups and glad i waited as I do not think this car will improve much compared to the competition currently being released. Rav4, Rouge, even the Murano destroys that chet. What about their DC transmission going bad, have recalls , burning oil, engines blowing up and recalls on the older Kia engines. Kia/Hyundai get a Big ZONK.
All car manufacturers had recalls and they can make mistakes like us. Toyota, Honda, Nissan, GM, Stellantis, Daimler and VW group had to recall millions of vehicles due to takata airbags. Mazda recalls 65 000 mazda 6 from model years 2009 & 2011 model due to spiders inside the fuel tank. 114,686 hondas had issues with backward cameras. Hondas are also affected by excessive oil consumption, transmission failures, power lock problems, etc. Not all hyundais/kias are going to catching fire, it will depend what's is under the hood, hyundai's v6s and v8s are pretty rock solid, just don't buy them if they had the theta II, Nu GDI and Gamma GDI engines.
