It’s truly a blessing to run across this video. I’ve had the struts in my possession over five years. No hardware came with it. I just ordered the screws from Amazon. I truly appreciate this video.💪🏾👍🏾🙏🏾.
@@The2CarGarage Much better than the creaky old spring setup for sure. Trunk lid now opens and closes smoothly and quietly with little noise. A worthwhile mod.
Hey man , Kevin here from Australia. That's a good upgrade it gets rid of those well out of date springs. And i totally agree with the mounting hardware. When everything is done its the small things that make the car. See you on the next one stay safe. ✌ peace.
Hi great work it is a pleasure to watch your channel and how caring you are. im running same kind of idea but was wondering if you could tell me bolt sizes for mounting to hood and the bolt number that attaches to car on the other end of hinge. thank you for any help. love your channel keep up the great work you do. Can you provide details on the Empi gas strut set up (part numbers etc). Looking to do something similar on my 1960 Beetle. Love your work BTW Cheers Joe (Sydney Australia)
I’m very interested in these, but weight savings is going to to be a big factor are the struts lighter than the whole spring mechanism? Thanks for all your help !!
If you’re going to do a segment featuring a kit like this how about putting a link for the part in the description. Or at least show the part number in the video so your viewers don’t have to go searching for it.

And I thought I was the first person to do this! Just found this vid. I did the same mod using some struts I happened to have lying around.
Nice! Do you like them as much as we do?

What are the dimensions of the struts? I want to get some for my beetle but don't have access to Empi parts locally. Thank you

May I ask ,what is the total length of the trunk lid strut that you installed in that bug ? Planning to do it in my 67 bug !!!TNX !!!
Can you provide a part number or length of the strut used? Looking for a 73Superbeetle. Just wondering if its possible.
Is there a left and right hinge or are they universal
👍
all that work with the machining only to install on rusted yellow hinges
