      @@JohnTYoung I’ve never been as bright as a closet- so I didn’t understand this reply at first because I couldn’t figure out if you were making fun of me, someone else or everyone so I just moved on figuring it went over my head.
      I’m reading it now sober before work and it turns out the problem is that you were being dead serious so I couldn’t understand you.
      But yeah- I get it.
      The more experienced you get with doing demos- the more you think beforehand about how you are supposed to explain what the hell a manufacturer was thinking.
      Anyway- it’s not you so much as people who don’t watch/pay attention to the entire Vid even once.
      Apologize for the ramble- 3 cups of super black race fuel before I spend every hour of light on a Saturday taking the entire roof decking off someone’s home and then building a new one for it.

    "Where the fuck is the drone?!"
    I love it!
    About 10 years ago I had a DJI Phantom that flew away on me. AKA: Return to China mode. Never to be seen again. It got zapped by a cosmic ray that made it think it was outside it's allowed radius from "home" position. I was bringing it in to land, about 5' from touchdown, when it suddenly went straight up to about 50', and then full deflection to parts unknown. It flew away with a brand new GoPro with gyro stabilized mount. About $1400. The biggest insult was that I now had about $600 in suddenly unusable support gear, batteries, etc.
    So, hearing you wonder aloud where your drone was cracked me up!!

  • @richardconnoly
    @richardconnoly 3 года назад

    Honest question..... Why not also wrap the muffler with exhaust tape?
    I wrapped my muffler on my WR so the hot muffler does not put my Mosko Moto Reckess 40 at any risk from the heat. The heat shields are ok, however, the wrapped muffler (at least on the little 250) is safe to touch at any time. Nothing gets melted or burnt.

    • @JohnTYoung

      A) I ran out of wrap B) How could you cover up that sexy sexy titanium C) I absolutely never even thought of it. 😎

    • @MVPauric
      @MVPauric 3 года назад

      aside from slightly more weight, this is a genius solution. I think the only thing you might need to think about... you're not deleting that heat. It has to go somewhere, so now your exhaust is going to be super hot. As long as an indicator or other plastic isn't near the downstream this sounds better than pipe clamps and heat shields.

    • @JohnTYoung

      It's OK. Stock, it'll top out at about 90 MPH, but it gets wiggly at 70 or 75, so you don't actually want to be doing 90 anyhow. With a little extra weight and a steering stabilizer it's much better. The way my bike is set up it works great... but mine isn't stock.

      If you have $800 to burn on a muffler then sure, get the Graves. $400 to save 2 lbs. over the Yosh...? If you add an exhaust you ought to get an ECU, otherwise you're just leaning the bike out even more. ECU, take the lid off your airbox, and go have fun.

      @JohnTYoung  3 года назад

      The bike does run very lean (lower percentage of gas to air) , and will run even leaner with a free flowing exhaust. The only way to rich (higher percentage of gas to air) up the mixture on an EFI is to switch ECUs or have the stock one re-mapped - which you can't do on the L/RL. Changing the ECU to a Vortex or the new GET (ECUs that are programmed richer for aftermarket exhausts and air boxes) when it comes out is pretty plug and play, but the cost may be a bit high. A Power Commander (ECU add on sort of) is cheaper, but not as finely tuned as a replacement ECU.
