- The Concorde was once the fastest commercial aircraft in the world. In stark contrast, its transit down the Hudson River was much slower Wednesday. CBS New York's Christina Fan was there for all the action.
Still after all these decades, the most beautiful aircraft in the world
It was such a glorious marvel of engineering and with its demise the passenger aircraft industry went backwards. One day, hopefully, we will catch up with what this plane could do.
Better hope the Boom super sonic jet project reaches production, that will be the modern Concorde
They need to put it indoors 😊
It needs to be flying
@@bilalahmed2123I Don’t think airlines would want the Concorde due to its high maintenance nature, Since airlines are under pressure to save a lot of money, Airlines buying a Concorde maybe a bad idea for airlines since its expensive to operate
YESSSSSS@@bilalahmed2123
@@jkbg5241also high operating costs, meaning higher ticket prices. Most people today prefer a cheaper ticket rather than getting their faster
Thanks for the designers and engineers for this wonderful machine way ahead in time.
New York originally vetoed Concorde due to noise etc. I think there was a legal battle. It’s heartwarming to see the city embrace her now ❤
It was sad when they were retired them . JFK was never the same
Why the hell is she left outside??
When you want big stuff moved you call Bay Crane
Would be so cool if they installed it back in lift-off position with that droop snoot down
Definitely looks like in need of repairs.
king of the seas
Love the kid in blue comment...
Probably do well now everyone on tic toc has over a millon in bank lol😂
there's another one in a countryside of England
Glad to see this old bird is to fly again
It is never going to fly again. This Concorde is just having a repaint
@@haven216 it is due to fly next April in fact.
@@marshalllucky No it isn't. You are probably thinking of the Boom XB-1.
@@haven216 Nice trolling ! Everyone knows the Concorde is due to fly next April
@@marshallluckyno it isn't!! it's sat in the elements for years which is fucking stupid in itself!!you can't send it off for a repaint and then take it for a spin.....
And even if it was to fly again which it won't...the French or British would be
First to get it air worthy.
Should never be on the Intrepid. The Concord has no involvement in Naval Aviation!
It was never onboard USS Intrepid.
Neither did the CIA's A12, but it's there. It's an aviation museum. Just because it's on an aircraft carrier, doesn't mean non naval units shouldn't be there. Concorde has just as much history with New York as she does with London or Paris. If there's one place she deserves to be outside UK and France, it's New York.
@@qasimmir7117 She's on display onboard Intrepid right now.
FFS, don't drop it. Fill her up with juice, light the fuse and let her fly!!!
Who knew how many people a plane that is now used as a way of describing sunk costs would make so many people wet 😂
These planes were a massive fail and you can’t justify throwing more money at the burning pile
Some things are more important than making a profit, this plane had soul and inspired generations. It was an incredible feat of engineering
Imagine if it makes it back home by landing at an airport and taxing to gate.
Really hope in the future it comes home back in the uk
There is one at Manchester Airport you can visit
To be fair we’ve got enough here in the UK and it’s as much a part of New York history as it is British and French history
@@Harryjw67 Very true. I just wish they treated 'ol Alpha Delta better. Think her nose and visor system was damaged during a storm too. The state of her at the start of this vid. Just heartbreaking. Glad she has some much needed attention though.
How about: "Concorde back in US airspace!"
They should bring it back! People have money to afford it these days!
Not me :(
They put Sully at the wheel of the barge, plenty of experience taking planes down the Hudson.
It’s such a beautiful aircraft. It should be flying the world, instead of remaining stationary at some museum. BTW, the second woman giving her thoughts on the Concorde is very beautiful.
Engineering mistake
And also at wrong time
@Alan-gx8gf even American do intentionl mistakes like 737 max
Why? Because Britain and France did something the US couldn't?
I think he's reffering to the tires before AF4590 or its droop nose. Idk about him tho
@@stephenguppy7882I see you're not speaking German..
