  • The Concorde was once the fastest commercial aircraft in the world. In stark contrast, its transit down the Hudson River was much slower Wednesday. CBS New York's Christina Fan was there for all the action.

It was such a glorious marvel of engineering and with its demise the passenger aircraft industry went backwards. One day, hopefully, we will catch up with what this plane could do.

Neither did the CIA's A12, but it's there. It's an aviation museum. Just because it's on an aircraft carrier, doesn't mean non naval units shouldn't be there. Concorde has just as much history with New York as she does with London or Paris. If there's one place she deserves to be outside UK and France, it's New York.
