Can you please make a video of some of the greatest books my husband could read ? He is a first time dad and he is very rough and tough and gets very nervous alot. He asked me if i could get him books. Please help me
One second into this video, I look at this dude and I'm like "yeah, that's a dad." He just has the most dad face ever. Like he's gonna call me "sport" at any moment. I am listening, intently.
As a woman currently pregnant with twins, here’s a bit of advice from me: Help her around the house, take on as much of a load as you can without hurting yourself physically or mentally. I can’t tell you how much it means to me every time my husband cooks or cleans, I’ve never expected either of those things from him but with twins I got big so quick that I physically couldn’t do the things I used to do. It’s relieving whenever he’d just do something without asking me how to do it, google is his friend! It allowed me time to nap and relax and focus on keeping the babies cooking as long as possible. I also think it’s a great idea to become more involved, watch/go to some birthing classes with her, go to the appointments if you can, research baby items that you might need, watch/go to newborn parenting classes, read a pregnancy book for dads, and consider infant CPR classes. That’s your baby in there, and though it might be easy for it to slip to the back of your mind because you can’t literally feel the constant reminder like she can, that baby is coming either way and you’ll be so thankful that you’re going into this prepared! If you’re watching this video and reading this comment, you’re already on your way to being the best partner and father a family could have, keep it up! ☺️
I still got a long way to go and my wife will be due around March 3rd, 2023. I take every piece of advice in good faith and I say thank you. But this is already too scary for me. I beginning to be scared of my wife's presence. I fear saying any word or even comments cos everything gets her annoyed these days. I get some provocative verbal attacks about my parents from my wife, but I can't respond cos it will spark a fight or quarrel. I am constantly exhausted and can't wait for these 5 months to be over for good. I pray God helps me with this. Especially emotionally.
I cook all the time. I am the cook 😂 I can clean and do dishes / house maintenance. Il send my cv lol. I know though that some guys do absolutely nothing around the home pre and post baby.
My wife just found out the day before yesterday January 27th 2024 that she is pregnant ❤ the main thing I've been thinking about is how to make extra money but I guess I need to work more on emotional support. I'm bad at that! I show it through letting her buy things she wants without complaining 😂. Thanks for the tips!! I'm super excited and haven't really expressed it to her yet. We had a miscarriage back in the summer and I don't want to add more to the stress levels of me being upset, I feel like I should be the one consoling. Wish us luck! I have a lot to work on!
I found out I'm going to be a dad a few days ago and I'm currently in a state of shock, excitement and surrealment if that's a word! I'm 29 and I've being wanting to be a dad since I was in my late teens. This definitely helped ease my worries so I honestly appreciate you making this video. My dad was pretty violent, toxic and a drunk and I want to be the complete opposite to him.
First time father here too I just found out 2 days ago and I’ve had a smile on my face since the second I found out. Shout out to your father for showing you the WRONG way to do it 🙏🏾
00:00 intro 01:25 you are normal (ok to be afraid) 02:39 be empathetic 04:14 you are in this together 05:17 get involved 06:43 worry about the emotional stuff, not the physical 07:57 buy minimum necessities 09:46 improve your financial situation
When you talked about the getting involved part it really hit home for me. Me & my partner found out about our little one at the end of January & within that same month we also moved in together. It’s been a lot but also great for the most part. She expressed to me today how overwhelmed she’s felt because I haven’t been as involved as she’d like in the planning around the pregnancy. I thought I was doing great with being involved but listening to my partner express how’s she’s been seeing / experiencing it was a totally eye opening experience. Thank you for videos like this I really appreciate it ❤ 10/08/24 ❤
I found out a few days ago that I’m going to be a father. At 29 years old, there’s a lot of things I don’t know about any of these but I just want to be the best father and husband for my family. These videos definitely help me at least have a direction, so thank you!
I found out about a week ago that my wife is pregnant and I'm so terrified and stressed out. This video really helped me figure out how to help my wife through this. It's her second child and it's rougher on her than the first one was
I’ve had a lot of symptoms during my wife’s pregnancy. Extreme Anxiety, indigestion, tension headache, sensitivity to light, food sensitivity, poor concentration. Low appetite. It’s scary haha!!! Been like this for 2 months and I’m praying for the symptoms to go away. I feel exhausted all the time? Any advice anybody? Thanks!! Great Video
Thank you. My wife and I have been talking about having kids soon and I had a brief panic when we were picking up pre-natal vitamins at the store because it suddenly became very real for me. I'm wanting to make sure I'm excited to be a father and not terrified of all of the stress and challenges to come. Finances are a big part of it, but I can't let that stop me.
I am working full-time, and my woman and I are expecting in September. I am pouring stress out of my ears, and having a hard time being productive at work. I am rolling with the punches about as well as I know how, but your video helped a lot. Thanks.
Hey so I'm going to be a new dad!!!! Me and my wife of 8 years have been trying for a couple years now, and it just wasn't happening. Then just a few weeks ago, she's pregnant!!! I'm so scared, and insanely excited for this part of our lives. Finding your channel has already helped me today. We are expecting around the second week of September, it was a good Christmas 😉. I subscribed to your channel as soon as I found it! I'm going to be binge watching/listening to you and other channels while I'm at work for the next few months. No I'm not being lazy at work...I sit In an excavator or skid steer 10-12hrs a day, I have headphones on and listen while I work. I have already made a mistake of not taking her emotions as seriously as I should, and was not terribly empathetic...I'm ashamed of myself for this. It wasn't a fight or anything, I just wasn't "there" for her. She holds herself together really well, and her emotional ups and downs are more subtle than other women I've been with, but cmon jackass... you've been with her for eight years. I was a dummy for sure. But thank you for making these videos, it has already helped me think a little better about it, and helped me realize alot of the emotions me and her are feeling are pretty normal, specially the overjoyed feelings we have for our new baby on the way.
Thanks for the video. It really helped me feel comfortable as an expecting father. I have all this down. Thank god I waited till i was 28, life taught me so much to teach my child, 10 weeks in! All I want is. Health child to raise. Boy or girl my heart is theirs.💚
This helped so much, I have experience being a father to the most amazing step son that will soon be my adopted son but I missed the beginning stages of his life. The wife and I decided to have another child and the pregnancy/ newborn stage has been mentally daunting. I'm so glad I found this channel
I’ve been studying to make a mid career change. We just had a baby yesterday and I can see both my sleep and study time go down. So this video has been a blessing so thank you! ❤️
My girlfriend already has a ten month old son, and we just found out she's 5 weeks pregnant with my first one!!! I'm so excited, yet super nervous. I love that little man as much as I love her, whether he is mine or not. He's the most precious thing ive ever seen 🥰 and I can't wait to watch our little family grow ❤️
This is the only video I’ve seen so far that is exactly what I’ve been looking for. There’s videos on expecting fathers that don’t really talk about the emotional advice or acknowledging that men can or might be scared and simply helping us relate to our feelings and reminding to be empathetic and even examples like you’ve talked about. Thank you so much, I’ll be referring back to this video throughout.
8 weeks in 32 weeks to go here 🤚🏽 feels surreal, feels like I have so much time to go, staying positive and wishing for me best for my partner. It’s hard to put it into words.
These were right on the money for me. Don't allow her to feel lonely, or on her own in any way. Be empathetic toward her, ACTUALLY put yourself in her shoes. Get INVOLVED - with everything. This is your pregnancy too. Better yourself so that you can be a better father/husband. Understand that your feelings are valid, however much they fluctuate. That's what I'm going to do. Good luck to other upcoming Dads out there, we got this!!!!
This channel is the best! Makes you realize that in the end, It is a natural process that every father has to go through... Jason, if you are reading, just want to thank you once again.
I'm first time father she has three kids in her previous relationships but I'm super excited to be called Dad. I'm proud of her and proud of my kid yet I don't know the gender. We're 27wks. Kindly pray for us. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Update to being a father! Because I just saw you hearted my other comment, it’s going to be a girl! She’s due in June, and we can’t wait, we are so excited for our rainbow baby and cannot wait to meet her ☺️
My girlfriend and I are expecting around New Year’s Eve/ New Years Day . Im excited and this video gave me a lot more confidence on how to prepare 💯🙏🏾 thanks
I don't know why this video doesn't have at least a million views. Just had a baby girl yesterday and I've been kind of flipping out... This video has helped me so much.
Literally found out today I am going to be a first time father. This video really helped and alreayd aligns with the common sense tips I would've guess. Great video and easy subscription for me. Thanks!
Congratulations to all my fellow fathers. Thank you guys @Daduniversity you guys have made me so excited for my new chapter in parenthood and I’m so stoked! 💪
Soon to be a father(in february) your videos are so inspiring and hit the right spot in my every tought and insecurity. Than you so much for this awesome set of advices.
Really felt like this was helpful! Thanks for the effort you put into these video. Not only are you making better dad's out here, but you're making better leaders for our future leaders. :)
Read the book "Absorbent Mind" by Dr Maria Montessori It will forever change the way you see children and will gave you more good reason to becoming a dad
Cheers pal. I found out yesterday that my wife is pregnant. Even though we’ve been planning for this, it’s still overwhelming so this is really useful, thanks 😊
Just wanted to say thank you for this. Just found out recently that I am going to be a dad. Could not be more excited. These tips have set me in the right direction.
Just learned at the beginning of this month my wife is pregnant with our first child. Could not be more terrified! Watching your videos on top of reading up on how to be a good dad has been very helpful and I've already learned so much. My wife is roughly 5-6 weeks along at this point. She's doing well overall and I'm trying my best to help her as much as I can. Will definitely be watching more videos! Could use all of the advice and knowledge I can absorb about being the best father and partner I can be before the baby comes next summer! Thanks, Dad University!
That is awesome. I would love to have you join me for a free class I am hosting tomorrow. you can register here: www.lighthall.co/class/2bc1971f-cb51-4541-a396-99e054abd874/
I failed 7 weeks in and all the things he talked about happened I'm lucky my beautiful wife wants to start to repair again but bloody hell he's spot on as I've started doing some of these things and they really do help
Aloha! My wife & I are due June 21st, buuuuuut I have a funny feeling that it’ll be sooner. Just recently stumbled across this page trying to get some homework in. What a rollercoaster of emotions. Excited and terrified all at once.
I’m becoming a first time dad we are expecting in October I’m excited to the point where I think my gf and sisters are annoyed with me but idc it’s my first time 😂🤷🏽♂️ these tips helped me A LOT. My gf is sensitive already before being pregnant so I’ll take these tips and run with them. Thank you 🙏🏾 now I’m going to watch more videos 😂
These tips are very helpful as my baby will be born soon. I intensively like his advice on focusing on emotional stuff instead of physical ones I really appreciate it.
Me and my fiancé found out she is pregnant after doctors told her she couldn’t have kids. We are so nervous and excited right now. I’ve been watching a lot of these videos they really help
just hit 12 weeks with my wife on our first child. We are SO F*Cking excited but I'd be lying if I said I was prepared for what's coming. These videos are helping A LOT even though we're still 6 months out, I realise I have my shit more together than I realised, even with a long way to go! Thanks guys!!
Hey can you help me with more things to say: The awww that is horrible, sad to to hear that your experience this” is gold is there more I can say. I’m messing up on the SHOWING/ *expressing* empathy.
Love the video. My baby is due in feb and I sometimes forget she’s my baby bc I don’t experience it like my girl does. That makes me feel bad in itself but it’s Great to know I’m not a lone in that
Bro thank you so much I’ve just tuned 20 and I’m about to have my first kid I’ve been long and stressful road but your tips have honestly help me so much
Thanks for your video this has helped me so much. I found out last week my girlfriend is 4 weeks pregnant and that wasn’t the only thing either. Last week my divorce papers came through and is finalised after nearly a year, also it was my birthday. It’s what I call the double D B. Divorced, became a Dad and my Birthday all in the same week!
Im 21 partner is 22, i just found out yesterday they are 4 weeks along, ive taken care of kids before, helping raise nieces and nephews through highschool and college when my siblings lost custody. I never thought i would get to be a father myself, i never thought i find love, every over pregnancy scare in my past lead me to having thoughts of leaving them (no exes got pregnant just try to say they were) but i fell in love with my partner, and i can say that for sure, so when this unexpected surprised came up i had no other thoughts but that i finally get to be a dad. i am so happy and excited, yet so scared, i dont know if im fully ready and i got alot of preparing to do. but im ready to take this adventure on with my partner and i know we will be amazing, thank you for this video
Hey I started watching your videos like a year ago. I even joined a few of your great live streams. I just wanted to say thank you. I took so many of your advice and they really helped a lot. I’m a first time dad so I didn’t even know how to take it all in. If it wasn’t for this channel I would’ve been in a lot of mental pressure. Thank you kindly 🙏
New dad here ….. 😅 I have. 6 year old but he came with my wife at 4 years old. I have never had a new born. This is new territory for sure . I’m excited but scared lol 😆 this videos helping a lot !
Good encouragement. One point I have is kids don’t cost that much (I have a little experience with 12 kids). Mark Twain was right when he said “You can raise two kids for the price of one vice”. If you’re worried about having enough to support your child quit drinking/smoking/weed, whatever. You’ll save money, reduce stress and probably end up earning more money in the process.
Have 6 months til my little one comes out... probably going to be researching and binging related media the whole time, making lists and budgets, practicing skills... its going to be one heck of a ride. And of course i have to make sure to not take a second with my gf for granted... cause its going to get a lot harder to find time for just each other once the time comes.
The two angles are distracting. Maybe some people appreciate it. But it starts to feel like an act. One front camera is good enough and feel genuine. That way it feels more like I'm listening to a big brother not a speaker. Just a thought. I appreciate the great tips. Great work!
Just found out I am goin to be a dad a couple hours ago! We have been trying and I'm so so so excited. But I am so anxious not sure how to just breathe.
Hey my name is Dennis and march 30th 2024 was a wild day we got In a bad wreck thought I lost my girlfriend but thankfully we made it found out she was pregnant with my first child been crying every since so happy to be able to start my new life journey with my girl and lil one ❤
Thanks for the video. I'm expecting my first baby with my wife (she's a week or so pregnant) and I'm super excited and nervous. This is my first bio baby and her 3rd (she has two kids I'm working to adopt)
I like that your channel provides a lot of emotional/psychological tips. However, do you have or plan on having some hands-on or step by step tutorial-style infant advice for things like diaper changing, giving baths, etc. Maybe it's not your focus, but I think it would be helpful for new and expectant fathers.
My wife is over 3 months prego, now I’m on the journey of learning how to become a good father. This first trimester has been rough for her, nausea and throwing up etc. We’re still in the process of finding out the name, though we know it’ll be a boy. : )

I’m in the same shoes bro! My wife and I are expecting our son to be born in late Feb! More online tips and help from family . We will be 👍🏻
How is it now lol
How did it turn out ?
One second into this video, I look at this dude and I'm like "yeah, that's a dad." He just has the most dad face ever. Like he's gonna call me "sport" at any moment. I am listening, intently.

My baby girl will be here March 1st. I'm excited to become a girl dad 😁

So did it came out yet? Its been 9 moths, vid on channel?
@fetgron-tamale1657 no we had a miscarriage. We were about 4 months in. Really wish I was telling you something different.
@@bethschuler463so sorry to hear that. Take care of each other.
Just 2 days ago I found that my partner is pregnant. Have no idea where to start, and your video is definitely helpful. thanks for your effort!
All the best and i have found out my partner pregnant after two months😅.. But it's the best feeling in the world.
I found out I'm going to be a dad a few days ago and I'm currently in a state of shock, excitement and surrealment if that's a word! First time father here too I just found out 2 days ago and I’ve had a smile on my face since the second I found out. Shout out to your father for showing you the WRONG way to do it 🙏🏾

So glad this was helpful
8 weeks in 32 weeks to go here 🤚🏽 feels surreal, feels like I have so much time to go, staying positive and wishing for me best for my partner. It’s hard to put it into words.
Shi same here bro. 2weeks in

Good tips, thanks for that. My gf and I are expecting July 2024 👨👩👦. Little anxious, but also very excited to become a dad 🤩.

Cheers pal. I found out yesterday that my wife is pregnant. Even though we’ve been planning for this, it’s still overwhelming so this is really useful, thanks 😊
Almost there we’re at 33 weeks and being induced at 39weeks! So excited for my baby girl 🙏🏽

I intensively like his advice on focusing on emotional stuff instead of physical ones
I really appreciate it.

Love the video. My baby is due in feb and I sometimes forget she’s my baby bc I don’t experience it like my girl does. That makes me feel bad in itself but it’s Great to know I’m not a lone in that
You definitely are not alone. We experience a lot of the same things. Congrats!

Last week my divorce papers came through and is finalised after nearly a year, also it was my birthday. It’s what I call the double D B. Divorced, became a Dad and my Birthday all in the same week!
That is a lot!! Glad you enjoyed the video

You got this!
I truly appreciate these videos. Thanks for sharing the importance of emotional maturity. It's nice to listen in on as I prepare to become a dad.
Thanks for great tips guys
Really love, I'm about to be the first time dad.
Tell you the truth it's existing and scary at the same time.
Man i was always not sure about what i feel and think but your video made me really confident and everything. Thanks for your video ❤❤
So awesome that you got value from it. Thank you for writing and being a part of our community. See you on the live stream!

Found out my partner was pregnant today, I'm excited but very scared. I'll be watching videos for days lol
Having my first child after 4th try I’m very excited thank you for this video
Good encouragement. One point I have is kids don’t cost that much (I have a little experience with 12 kids). Mark Twain was right when he said “You can raise two kids for the price of one vice”. If you’re worried about having enough to support your child quit drinking/smoking/weed, whatever. You’ll save money, reduce stress and probably end up earning more money in the process.
Just found out last week that I’m gonna be a dad. Time to enroll in Dad University
Just found out Saturday man. Right behind you! Congratulations!

Thanks, I am stressed. First baby due October. I look at most things as a problem that I can fix. But I can't "fix" this. Wish me luck.
New dad here and thank you for this
Another great video, Jason! A lot of really useful advice. Will definitely be putting this into practice. Stay safe. Harry - London
So glad you got value from it. Thanks for continuing to watch!
I like that your channel provides a lot of emotional/psychological tips. However, do you have or plan on having some hands-on or step by step tutorial-style infant advice for things like diaper changing, giving baths, etc. Maybe it's not your focus, but I think it would be helpful for new and expectant fathers.
We do have a few instructional videos. We will take it into consideration to make more.
My wife is over 3 months prego, now I’m on the journey of learning how to become a good father. This first trimester has been rough for her, nausea and throwing up etc. We’re still in the process of finding out the name, though we know it’ll be a boy. : )
