I love your content!!! Do you ever think about not using aerosol can? What about a little less toxic chemicals? You can get a clean bike without using so many chemicals that are harmful to the environment. Don't get me wrong. I don't think you are single handily ruining the environment but if we all make little changes it helps. Again, I am not trying to be mister preachy environmentalist just a thought for you.
Really valid thoughts! I support Dynamic because I know they try to make all their products as sustainable as possible, but if anyone knows any alternatives that are more sustainable I’m sure they’re happy to take a look at it :) I agree on the aerosol thing as well, so maybe next time I should try the same clean without those!
Martijn, you look pretty pro with that pressure washer wand the cx world is calling! Is there any chance of a future video of the RBC racing cx? I''d love to see Jelmer etc racing CX. I was surprised to see so many aerosol cleaning products as I thought the Nederlands would be banned their use by now. What's the situation there? Bedankt en Dag.
For those that don't have access to a compressor, if you have a leaf blower it works just as well to dry off the bike which especially important in the winter time. I still wipe down everything afterwards with a clean rag to make sure all dry. In summer it doesn't really matter but in winter any water droplet left can lead to rust/oxidation if ignored.
You won't regret it, only use wet lube on commute bike when salt on roads. Use Squirt lube on road bike, much easier to clean bike, no oily mess. Use white spirit to degrease oily chain before waxing.
I like cleaning my bike but now it needs attention in other ways. For some reason shifting the front gears doesn't work at all when it's cold outside, maybe some lube is getting hard or something like that. What do you think? The rear shifting is kinda broken, too. It's not a gravel or road bike, just the one that I use on a daily basis but riding it hasn't been much fun for the last months which is kinda sad. On a different subject: what do you do bake in that oven? A fernwee-is-baking-something-vlog would be much appreciated but of course, that's totally up to you ;)
Try new inner gear cables first this often is all that's needed, they corrode easily in winter or if wet a lot.. Check chain for stretch with chain checker and replace if over .5, new cassette as well if badly worn. Check rear mech for wear, replace/service if pivots worn or springs weak. If it's had a knock get shop to check hanger alignment. Bad freehubs can also cause weird shifting problems.
@@Xerp4Life These are good tips, thank you! The chain is pretty much new and didn‘t wear out, the cassette looks good, too. The freehub was changed last year, too, after it died a not so pleasant death 😂 (which doesn’t guarantee that everything is alright, of course). So I‘ll go check the rest…
Hi Martijn, do you have a link or the name of the chain keeper you use for cleaning the chain without the back wheel? Much appreciate a response! A clean bike is always the best, sadly it does not last to long very often haha
Thanks for the video! But remember that the top tube isn’t meant to be clamber in the huge stand!! You should use the seat post for that :) it would be a shame to crack the frame!
I never let my mud dry. Wet mud and crud come off much easier and don't need a pressure washer. I can't stand to think of a dirty bike waiting for me...😱
Hoi Martijn, Ik ben een nieuwe wielrenner en vroeg mij af of je qua training ook gewicht en of flexibiliteits trainingen toepast? Voor de rest geniet ik er van je filmpjes elke zondag ga zo door.

Cyclon is biologisch and Boeshield Bike & Chain cleaner is Biodegradable (that one is great!!!!)
Love this vid. Watching a man clean his bike has helped me finally fall asleep, thank you
Hahah perfect!
After cleaning your bike this thoroughly, do you also charge your Sram batteries? Or do you just wing it?
You have reminded me I still have to clean my bike that I put in the shed in November,I think I will clean it on the next dry day👍🚴🏴
Haha sounds like its about time ;)
the spray on wax (protection layer in the last step) will contaminate your brakes, would spray it on cloth then apply
yes but he didnt have brakes in, remember?
@@saturnioowens6546 that will of course be the safest option, brakes in after chain lube and wax finish
Shoutout to the Dynamic chain keeper

uha, uha, high pressure of water & soap, very bad for all the bearings ...

I have exactly the same ritual 😅. It takes time but you can keep your bike every years
Dude - I always use a cloth in the stand clamp to avoid scratches from all the grit that is going to be sitting in there from the last bike clean.
Good one!
Love the alt bars!
Hoi Martijn, handige video! Welke compressor gebruik je hiervoor om de fiets droog te blazen?
I need to swap from lube to wax on my chain but its such a process to deep clean the chain and components to get it ready for wax 😬
Its worth it ;)

The option of using the compressor is great.
How did the AssSaver do under those conditions?
Very well, i really like it so far
Hello. That was a great video!
By the way, what mud repellent are you using?
Heyo, it’s this one: bit.ly/protwax
Happy New Years! What handle bar are you running on this rig?
Same question🙋♂️
BLB Hobo Loop!
Hello Martijn. Can you tell me the model of your flatbar ?
Widzę, że jesteś pierwszą osobą która używa sprężonego powietrza do osuszenia roweru. Brawo ja robię tak samo :-)
No, he says that he is only cleaning.
Hey that’s pretty good… imma FedEx you my bike… you need some towels? 😂😂😂🍻
I always take out off my wheels, then you can clean better between de bridge and vork
I take chain off too, stuck with 9 speed as links reusable and can be joined/unjoined by hand.

Even een vraag mbt je clean kit. Welke kist heb je daar en welke middelen gebruik je?
Deze kist: www.dometic.com/nl-nl/outdoor/kamperen-met-de-auto/opslag/dometic-go-hard-storage-50l-316486
En alle middelen staan in de description :)
Top bedankt 👍
Turned out very nice. But, if you’re buying your products, that much aerosol stuff is way too expensive.
You talk about assembly paste, is that grease?
It is not!
I should have kept watching the video, you mention it 30 seconds later. Love your videos!
Cool video!
What a bottle cages you have ?

all the high pressure water near the bearings has me cringing
I also bought a used bike like that. Now I know how to replace hub bearings 😅
There are low pressure kärcher you could use. I have one of those to clean my bike. Not 100% sure but for me it seems he is using low pressure, too.
Ha you call that dirty, it takes me 30 minutes to get my bike that dirty at the moment in the north ;)
