coming back to the game after a couple years and these changes are overwhelming. Looks completely different than what I was used to. Thanks for making this.
Lol i was listening and kinda started zoning out because it's all very overwhelming. But here! 5:03 There we go! "Press bahamut, pick a Lego". Finally something my brain could grasp. Beautiful artwork btw.
You could also look at the physical ranges. Although I should say, no job is actually all that difficult in the game! So if something looks fun to you, then don't worry about how difficult people say it is. You can do it!
Thanks for the video, I am a returning summoner after a year off. I have to relearn the rotation, as just clicking anything that pops up to use like whack-a-mole isn't working very well.
im learning summoner mainly to try POTD out and oh boy lmao i started out just pressing every proc xD this makes a lot more sense so basically SUMMON BAHAMUT do beeg damage then summon not bahamut, not bahamut, not bahamu-- PHOENIX BEEG DAMAGE-- not bahamut LOL
Everyone says this job has a brain dead rotation and is so easy, but I just listened to the first 6 minutes of this video and I have no clue what the hell is going on lmao.
@@Juliacare Thank you for the encouragement! Yeah I'm at the dummy now, gonna start the video over and follow along. I haven't played in quite a while and the job has changed so much since the last time.

I'm just coming back to this game and being a Persona fan tbh I can't think of another class more fitting of that. Especially with the wild card abilities.
Does your searing light fall off just before the swiftcasted slipstream? Even at a fastish gcd my buff tends to fall off just before I can get the slipstream cast off.
Without clipping any of your gcds, it is possible with a faster gcd. Usually it is something spell speed summoner does rather than the crit build. For the crit buils you can consider doing garuda first if you have a lot of short buffs that would fall off almost instantly after slipstream is cast.
Yes, of course. You could even choose not to use potions at all as using them is not a requirement for clearing savage content. It is only in the latest ultimate, Dragonsong War, or during the first few weeks of a new savage tier, where the usage of potions is key. After that, it is simply to try to deal as much damage as possible. If clearing is all you care for, then do not feel pressured to use potions.

This is because you want to wait for the raid buffs of your party members to be applied to you before casting them. These go out at their latest in the oGCD window of the 3rd GCD so the oGCD window of the 4th is the earliest you can cast them. Waiting for these buffs will make your akh morn deal more damage causing you to gain a higher aDPS rank and giving your party members a higher rDPS rank. All whilst not losing you any rDPS damage yourself.

@@sentralorigin yep thats how all jobs play in this game. Anyone that has learned the basics of the rotation will naturally align their buffs with others. Sometimes without realising. PF in EU seems to do it fine, not perfectly, and my statics from the past few years have been accurate to the gcd nearly every single pull.
I’m not sure about raw stat numbers. Simply avoid sps once you reach a recast time where you get in an extra demi gcd consistently. Focus fully on crit items after. Look at the BiS list for meld suggestions, else use the stat priority to meld. The difference is small.
I feel like they did the rework backwards. Using Titan, Ifrit, and Garuda should build energy that leads into Bahamut/Phoenix. As a SMN main since FFXI, however, I'm pretty disappointed with the rework. It doesn't feel like a summoner anymore. In fact, it feels like they recycled a kit that would have worked well for a Geomancer. Oh well. Here's to hoping 7.0 brings us real pet/dot class.
Thats a fair opinion. I believe SE is shying away from dots and gave up on the pet AI. Its still a summoner, just not in the same sense as other games have summoners. You cast your spells through your carbuncle as a sort of spell casting focus.

So ifrit never gets used only bahamut titan and garuda so you dont summon ifrit after titan and garuda ?
You do use ifrit, the optimal opener simply if titan into garuda. And ifrit afterwards. Please watch the rotational section, not just the opener.
