Since I found your channel I’ve always been excited to see what you’ll do next. Haven’t seen you up any shorts or anything for a while though. Hope everything is alright in your life and can’t wait to see how this build turns out!
Right on Howie! And haha, it definitely is like a micro panga and I heavily considered going that route( high sides) , “big “ bow . Hmmm, now I’m brainstorming… 😅. Cheers in your build, be sure to share!
First and foremost I love your videos man !!!!! Growing up as a child me and my father had one thing in common and that was boats but my father was very old-school didn’t really teach me much hands-on stuff so watching you do the special projects makes me feel like a kid again I appreciate you thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this comment! I sincerely appreciate it! I’m happy to have you here watching and hope you enjoy the next bud just as much! Cheers!
Thank you Sam for sharing this and watching! I’m definitely going to try and highlight some safety related components more often, glad you enjoyed the build so far! Cheers!
Yes!!! That’s music to my ears! Thanks so much for sharing your awesome energy! I’m happy to have you here and thank you for your great support of the channel! Cheers!
I remember sitting at shogun I think it was many years ago listening to you describe basically this exact skiff to Nick 😂 Can’t wait to see the rest of the series on this one!!!🎉
be careful bro. you looked like you were way over heated there. the past few months have been brutal heat wise. Glad you got the grinding done without a trip to the ER! Can't wait to see it finished!
Thanks Jonathan, you sure hit the nail on the head ! It’s been a really late summer around here and damn hot! Yes, I pushed it a little too much that day of grinding with the suit on in the sun. Actually, I don’t think I can recall a day I was ever that much overheated. I sat down in front of a big industrial fan for over an hr after just to bring down my core temp. 😬. Lesson learned for nextt time! Cheers buddy!
Thank you so much! And right on!!! I’m stoked to hear you’re inspired to start a build! Update video coming within the next week! Cheers and good luck in the search!
1:30 wish I was there in order to steal the side-cut-offs from ya and build a whole another small watercraft out of those hard-chine lovely skirts; too late for the panga-build leftovers, but please create another narrow hull from these cutaways :)
I like the way you think Boris! Maybe in a future build I’ll do a 2 boat build out of one boat?! 😎👊🏼. And agreed , the panga sides were especially perfect , I wanted to keep them for that purpose but at that time I didn’t really have room for all my projects so I cut them up and tossed them :/ thanks for the suggestion/insight! Cheers!
@@diywaterworld Love the videos, keep em commin'. Wishing you smooth and steady seas. Cheers from an ocean and a continent away (europe's rectal cavity unfortunately).
Thank you! Haha, that would be fun indeed, hook a big fish and get towed around! I don’t really ever fish but who knows, maybe one day I’ll give it a go once it’s finished! Cheers!
Hi Ted, I’m hoping to do a full vid on the sailboat soon. Until then , here’s a couple details ! The boat is owned by a friend and ironically named “Waterworld “ It’s a Trans Pacific winner from years ago, close to 80’ length , carbon fiber one piece infusion built hull, at the time is was one of the fastest mono hulls in the world. It’s previous name was “Pegasus”. The owner is quite the creative visionary and has built a beautiful house on it, installed twin Yanmar diesels , a shallow draft winged keel, and has essentially created the ultimate Bahamas island hopping exploration vessel. Super fast/fuel efficient and VERY practical. The craftsmanship snd thought behind the build are top notch! I look forward to sharing the build in the future! Cheers!
Hi Jim, I am SO on the same page buddy! I’ve been on the lookout for a fixer upper / crashed jet ski to use as a donor. I have a super special idea for the build too! Hopefully this winter when boating is less popular I can scoop something up! Thanks for the suggestion! Cheers!
Ive got a 64 glasspar avalon 16,ive been thinking of doing the same, but im not looking to hit 50mph.just a cool lil solo skiff build with inboard motor. Looking foward to seing this one finished.
Right on Nick! Sounds like a sweet project. Yeah, I’m not sure where the 50mph thing came from , I’m not a speed nut, and definitely gravitate towards solid functionality. But with this one I figured why not set up a good challenge. High speed skiff with low Hp outboard 😬. Let’s see how it turns out! Cheers and good luck on your build! When you get started be sure to share with us on the FB page! Cheers!
String up some shade and get a box fan. I worked 2-summers in a Memphis boatyard, my boss watched me do that, held his tongue and noticed I was out there all day with fewer breaks than the other guy. He pulled me aside and said he was about to chew me out for goofing off until he realized I was looking at being productive. That job sucked but my boss was great.
❤ NEW SUB: Would LOVE to see you DIY a solar powered Kayak or ultra small boat.... Perfect for exploring the bahamas on an extended camping and exploring super shallow draft abacos canals etc...
I’ve gotta know. How much trouble does FWC or DNR give you about hull numbers when you modify a boat so heavily like this? Can’t wait for the next video!
Now you know why I want to go 50mph! 😎🤣🤣. In all seriousness, I don’t have any issues, I know the state laws well regarding boat titling / homemade/ rebuilds/etc. some of my builds qualify as homemade and some ( like this one) will remain being titled as the original Glastron CVX 16. :) I’ve had quite a few questions about registering these types of builds and I have heavily considered making a video on it. Cheers Tony !
It would be a good idea to explain it. Personally I don't think they are jerks about a boat. As long as it's by the legal process they don't give a poo what it is.
I have a aluminum boat that i stripped and redoing all the wood using marine wood and im going to coat in resin and cloth mat to make it sealed and perfect so it doesnt rot like the original was
RUclips is something I do as a hobby / for fun. Lately I’ve been slammed with zero time for either. Next bit of free time I’ll be editing part 2 and hopefully posting. I can definitely say it’s worth the wait ! Cheers
Man love your channel and builds. One question for you something I always wanted to do also. Have you ever thought of turning a old hobie cat into a skiff?
Hi Sam, thanks so much! And HECK YES!!!! I know this build well and applaud you for wanting to do one! I’ve done 2 actually, the first was a little over 20 years ago. It was an 18’ Hobie with a 20 Hp motor. And it was was a ripper! I would take it out of Blackpoint Marina down in miami and head out to the reefs to spearfish. Incredible ride quality and fuel economy. Fast too! Overall , a super fun and kickass ride! I think you should 10000% build one! Cheers!
Great point! And in hindsight I probably should have added/ let everyone know I held my breath while blowing the boat off and didn’t take a breath until I was upwind and clear of the dust. Im writing this thinking this all probably sounds bogus , but it’s actually one of the ways I practice breath holds for Freediving 😎🙈 Constantly doing short breath holds while working. ( NOT OSHA APPROVED ) 😂. Cheers and thanks for pointing it out!
Hyperthermia is like the opposite of hypothermia…if you’re active and hydrating, but wind up with the chills, you need to eat something. Perhaps a candy bar or power bar. Filling up on water and Gatorade makes you feel full, but you’re burning up all those calories without meaningfully replacing them.
Well I can tell by looking at it that won’t work. At most it will be a motorized surfboard not a skiff! I’m motorized a sunfish sailboat it was awesome!
Love your content brother, but you worried me. In my line of work I've seen dehydration a bunch of times, and chills is a really bad sign. It's definitely good to take breaks and hydrate, but you've gotta keep electrolytes up when you're sweating that much, or you won't retain it very well. Sodium chloride tablets are your friend. Sincerely, another heavy sweater.
Aww man I’d a cut the deck off it and made a flats boat out of it , had to laugh though goes through all the safety talk and its importance , takes off all the safety gear is soaking wet and blows glass dust every 🤪👈🏻.
Нужно было днище катера использовать как болван. Обработать воском и оклеить стеклотканью, потом снять скорлупу. И старая лодка осталась-бы цела и работы намного меньше.
Thanks for the sub Jason! While I can see where you are coming from , the reality is there was a lot that happened in that video … taking a full boat, cutting the cap and deck out, transporting, cutting the sides off, cutting out all the rotted transom and wood from inside, grinding , grinding and more grinding, now is the fun and “easy “ part… installing new structure. I hope you follow the next part, it’s unique to say the least! Cheers!
Having the vision to turn some old hull into something new and cool is a gift - then actually seeing it through is awesome!!!
Haha, thanks so much buddy! I appreciate the great energy and encouragement always! Can’t wait to get you down here this winter! Cheers!
Its's the Wayne The Boat Guy 😊 hell yeah (you two gave me spark) ... all I need is gasoline (I want a small boat) 😁
Thank you for including just basic things like how to remove the cap........cut it off, perfect! Love your videos!
Oh man doing all the grinding in the direct sun. That's brutal! Love the videos...Bless!
Haha. Yes it was! I thought it would take me half the time and be half as hot lol. 🙈. Lesson learned! Cheers buddy, thanks for watching!
Since I found your channel I’ve always been excited to see what you’ll do next. Haven’t seen you up any shorts or anything for a while though. Hope everything is alright in your life and can’t wait to see how this build turns out!
Wow! If only I lived closer. So cool! Thanks for sharing 🔥🦾
YAAAA, Micro Panga!! Can't wait to see layup schedule. Almost cool enough in N.C. for my skiff re-floor and budget weight saving is the goal!
Right on Howie! And haha, it definitely is like a micro panga and I heavily considered going that route( high sides) , “big “ bow . Hmmm, now I’m brainstorming… 😅. Cheers in your build, be sure to share!
All you need is a Gheenoe,a 40hp,and the right prop...lol....LOVE THE BUILD!
I was like no when the video came to an end I want more videos. please keep hydrated, I know it's hot in Florida I live in Miami.
Haha. Well good news is part 2 will upload in the next several days! And amen to hydration, it definitely has been warm out! Cheers Cristina!

Good info on the protective equipment, very often neglected and pretty simple. Another good one thanks.

Heck yeah he’s at it again!!!!!! Man this is sweet let’s see her fly
Wooohooo Cody! Yeah buddy, final countdown to takeoff is around the corner! Cheers buddy!
Can't wait to see the finished product. Gonna be somethin Forest.

Your excitement says it all.
Cant wait to see the rest. I'm an old kid waiting.
Hahaha. You and me both Rocky! Work and weather has delayed progress but I should have part 2 uploaded in the next several days! Cheers!
This is my absolute favorite channel. Can’t wait for the next video!!!
Yes!!! That’s music to my ears! Thanks so much for sharing your awesome energy! I’m happy to have you here and thank you for your great support of the channel! Cheers!
Where’s part two ? 🤔 have you made the sides of the Hull yet? 🤔
I remember sitting at shogun I think it was many years ago listening to you describe basically this exact skiff to Nick 😂 Can’t wait to see the rest of the series on this one!!!🎉
Hahaha. Great memory buddy! And oh man, I miss Shogun!!! Such a legendary spot!! Yum!

I finally got my engines bro, thanks for the prayers 🙏 lol. She should be all done next Thursday. Id like to email you some pics of this little tank.

Thank you so much! And right on!!! I’m stoked to hear you’re inspired to start a build! Update video coming within the next week! Cheers and good luck in the search!
great work that bertram is looking good in back there
The crazy cool stuff you do, man! Always stoked to watch everything you do.
Haha, cheers buddy! I’m happy you’re here along for the ride! Cheers!!
Can’t find the next video on the build. I hope it’s coming 😊
@DIY WATERWORLD I would love to see the end of this build and I would be willing to buy this once finished if I like it

Cool skiff. Let's see you catch a sailfish or big tuna or shark on it. Sharks are easy in shallow water..
Thank you! Haha, that would be fun indeed, hook a big fish and get towed around! I don’t really ever fish but who knows, maybe one day I’ll give it a go once it’s finished! Cheers!
Whats the story on that sailboat in the background? Interesting hard dodger and what looks like a huge cockpit.
Hi Ted, I’m hoping to do a full vid on the sailboat soon. Until then , here’s a couple details ! I would love to see you build a fiberglass jet jon from a jet ski engine.

Right on Corey! It’s uploading in the next several days! Hope you like it! Cheers!
"you done cut up a perfectly good speed boat" DEAD SIIICK video as always
Thanks buddy! Much appreciated! I can’t wait to get over your way and see your latest projects in person! Talk soon!
Love what you do. Looking forward to more content. Quick question: Can you tell me more about the light blue/green sailboat hull in the background?
Love the reality, and SO relatable: A month later……. “Welcome back to Day 2.” LOL.
😬🤣 hahaha , I’m so glad you can relate! Luckily, my days 3 and 4 weren’t a month or two down the rd! Cheers bud!
Hate cutting and grinding fiberglass. But love the end results.
Haha, amen to that! Not too back when it’s cool outside , but this summer heat makes it not so fun haha. Cheers!
Pink Dow XPS foam from Home Depot and 1708 for the hull sides? Looking forward to the next video.
I like the way you think buddy! 🙌🏼😉 and I believe you’ll like part 2! Cheers!
Cool build.Do you have issues registering your creations?
Another amazing video outtttt
Thank you so much Carson! I’m stoked you enjoyed it! Cheers!
