Hey Wendy, as someone thinking about chasing my "what if" curiosity about acting, i think of all the "that guy" characters i watched growing up. Some of which arent around anymore, and some just now getting their respect. Even the public says "damn this guy must really love what he does". Like life, ya get what you put in. Thanks for your inspiration, and for telling it like it is.

Ahh! When you said you received an email, I knew what it was going to say! Thanks for sharing, Wendy. I’ve been acting, in Hollywood, also for 20+ yrs. & I teach classes & coach. I’ve had clients lately who, don’t listen & it makes me sad. I thought I’d always maintain the will & positive attitude to stay strong, no matter what. But, it’s hard, sometimes. You have to let them go by. So, know that when you share your heart, you help your compadres keep their heads up! Xo

9:00 Wendy is right about not having a career if you start out being "difficult'. However.....we know of MANY big box office, big money-making stars who, after developing a very successful career, have become totally mean and abusive tyrants or in some cases total control freaks over people and projects. But this happens in every profession.

You're videos may save me from myself. "Shut up and Smile." In order to understand things I question alot and I never want it to come across as pushback and I can see how it can be perceived as such. Watching your videos and reading your books alone have transformed my resume, reel, social media setup and development of my own content. You don't know me personally but I have a presence. I'm determined, hardworking and have a great support team of artists who are the same. So, Don't be surprised when you see your name in the Thank you credits in a Heartland film Festival movie. I play your youtube vidoes in the car on the way to work and just listen and connect some of the dots in the business that I don't know about. Grateful.

I definitely plan too because I want to see for myself how well I handle pressure like this compared to the pressure of a play in my local studios. @wendyalanewright WOW!! I find your personality awesome! Tell it like it is. Great video! Thank you so much for sharing. Upcoming aspiring Actors like me, value the sponge of knowledge and want to do well, so why would you challenge the ones that hold the keys. I sincerely value these inside tips AND actually have a video interview tomorrow that I got just out of nowhere few hrs ago and no time for prep. Its been awhile but Instead of be an "idiot" and be unprepared I decided to be proactive and do some prep RUclips to give my best A game I can tomorrow with the time presented to me. Thank you for this, I will apply your notes as well and I didn't know that fact about film roles so thank you! Man what an opportunity that guy had and blew it. Id a traded with him in a second. You have a new Subscriber. :) If I ever make it to LA I hope to land in your office. Thanks for the info!

7:18 Wendy, you awful mean bully. How dare you say that a totally inexperienced naive twenty-year old doesn't know more than you about show business.Their entire twenty years has been an experience of listening to mommy and daddy saying how wonderful, gifted, intelligent and beautiful their child is, and that their child is entitled to anything they want in life just for being alive !!

Hi @Wendy, what you don’t tell us is this actor’s age. You’ve probably been in the business longer than he’s been born. Haha! Thanks for all your exceptional advice, Wendy!😘❤️🌹💋🙏🏽🙌🏽

I loved this video whole heartedly. I think in general it's such a pain when you're trying to teach someone who argues with you on every other point.

Nefertari Nzinga Know your character.who they're talking to during the monologue? What's their relationship with that person? How does that impact the monologue? What past experiences has the character had that they bring up to life through this monologue? You can even take each sentence of the monologue and give it a meaning.Create a person who you become during the monologue.Talk from their perspective (like it's your own) without any added dramatic movement if the character doesn't require it.Just like a normal person would hold a personal speech.
