I’ve watched this video a couple of times now. Mostly when I was looking to buy and the actual real world driving review helped make the decision. The other after having owned the car for 6 months - it just reaffirms my choice. I’ll definitely be looking at this channel when shopping for my next car .
Thanks! I'm going to look at one of these this afternoon. I was hovering between an E53 and E400 untill I saw this vid. I hadn't looked at these so didn't realise they were a Mild Hybrid and so responsive. The higher mpg will certainly be welcome too.
@AkakiPeikrishvili More than pleased. I'm far too old to want to startle people with pops and bangs from my exhaust. This can emit a few burbles at times though. Not many about and still draws admiring glances and comments, even from other Mercedes drivers.
Had a re-think on this. I'm probably looking at purchasing a 3-4yr old car. Did I read correctly that the EQ battery is only guaranteed for 6yrs and costs £15,000 to replace?! It looks like the E400 will likely be my next car.
@Neronlive I don't recall exactly. When I was researching the car with a view to purchasing it was a random post by someone who's battery had failed and who was shocked to discover this.
In Sport+ mode yes, otherwise probably similar. That's the joy - it'll never be an AMG but it's just the flick of a switch between refined comfort and sporty aggressiveness.
how does this mild electric motor work? does it have a battery that require re-charging, or does work by capacitance and temporary charge being generated from the combustion engine?
@@ParagonCarsLondon my regular commute to work would be mon -fri from east London to stansted around 25-35 mins on the M11 so I think the E400 is a better suit. Roughly, you reckon I’d be doing 250 per month on fuel or more?

That’s what I’m doing now. Really like this channel
Great video! I love it when we get a review of slightly unique cars like this. This engine is making more sense as diesel prices are more expensive

Your thinking about an e53 and an e400.. big difference mate, night and day e53 us a amg,e400 is not.
@mikey mike Yep, well aware of the differences thanks and like them both for different reasons. My E400 will be arriving this Saturday.
@@kevinwhitmill2599 How's your experience with E400? Thinking of getting one.

What? Where die you got this information?

How does the fuel economy of this and an e300 differ?
Im after an e class coupe but im not sure which one to get.
Does the E400 sound more loud and aggressive than the E350 or about the same?

A lot of the charge comes from the cars inertia e.g. going downhill.
@@ParagonCarsLondon So it's self charging?
@@eeemuse yeah
How much would fuel difference be between the e350 and e400d? Torn between the 2 rn!? 😢
actually relatively similar depending on where you drive. Motorway i'd go with e400d, in town the e350.

from your point of view, would u choose 350 over 300? nearly 50hp worthy?
i'd look more for a nice spec as the engines are quite close in performance.
As a 22 yr should I get one of these or a m140i?
140i is more fun but very expensive to insure at the moment.
How many times can he say hot hatch fast
it seems to me that the BMW 5 Series has better suspension
Is that a 5 series for the next video?
it certainly is 😏
@@ParagonCarsLondon brilliant, been looking forward to seeing a 5 series review, stuck between that and a 3 series
Is there a big difference with a w205 model c class?
Interior wise, yes huge difference. A lot more spacious inside as well.
@@ParagonCarsLondon ok thanks , thinking about upgrading to a e coupé. But only if there is that next level off Mercedes luxury compared to the w205
