thanks for sharing!!! Besides these rules, any branch which grows to the inner part of the tree has to be removed. With these 3 simple rules you can clean a tree generally speaking
Look forward to your cuttings vid. I got a new mini-greenhouse recently too. Loving it so far. Btw, Pom cuttings work with very thick hardwood cuttings too (1-3” thick etc), as well as root-cuttings 😉
Mine probably isn't as nice as yours; this one is just intended to be quick and cheap for anyone wanting to try it. Yeah, they root like crazy. It's way early in the year to be taking cuttings but for information's sake I'm doing it. I have plenty more I can do later in the year. We'll give it a month and see what happens!
small trees ...the one I bought was super cheap... $16 on eBay, haha. Sundale brand iirc. Decent quality tho and I can fit plenty pots in it. Also, it’s most likely cheaper than buying materials to make a DiY mini-greenhouse.
No, you want to prune during the growing season, not at the end. You risk a lot of branch dieback if you cut while growth isn't occuring. In your landscape, a branch here and there won't be missed but in a pot everything is amplified.
Thank you! No, this is a twisted pomegranate. It grows this way naturally and will become more pronounced as it ages. There are a couple other videos with this tree and another, more advanced tree if you look through my others.
If I were to have shortened it some, it could have possibly stayed, but the branch comes back towards the main trunkline and it doesn't really look natural. to each their own, but I don't think it has a place in the future design.
Thanks for sharing.
This is just what I needed. Branch-by-branch reasoning. Hoping for more. Thanks!
Loving your videos, thank you.
Thanks for the tips
Nice tutorial. Thanks

Very true. Bar branches should also be avoided when possible. I appreciate your addition!
Great video. Very simple and straight forward. Looking forward to seeing more of your work! Cheers
Very helpful video for beginners with a decent explanation. Would love a video about wiring or soil maybe!
Work has me pretty busy for the next few days but I'll try and get something worked up for you. Glad you enjoyed this one!
This was really helpful. Thank you

Hello! What is the cut paste you are using?
I believe I used my own paste in this video. You can get it on my website (smalltreesfarm.com)
Thank you and did you say you use duct paste to seal cuts?
Duct paste will do the trick, yes. You're welcome!
When is the best time to prune them back...I always do my outside trees in December...should I follow that rule for my little bonsai

@@smalltrees thank you
Any time!
If u have a video on topic of twisting the pomegranate tree
This is actually just a trait of the tree. It develops the deep twists naturally as it grows.
Nice tree and video. Is this tree two trees fused together?

How many trees have you lost because you didn't use the sealer?
None that I'm aware of but I generally try to use it.
Thank you.
i thought the U shaped branch looked good

You blocked our view.
I did. The good news is that I have an update on this very tree coming out tomorrow!
And I didn't block the view at all in this one. I took a lot of care not to, and the thorns on the tree scratched my arms a lot haha.
