    Thank you so much, Neil! Whatever I can do to keep fooling people into thinking I'm professional enough to pay me money is much appreciated.

    Sadly in my experience 3D pdf has issues with more complex models/assemblies. Starting from 2019 the design share is cool and probably quickest way to get exploded view. Moreover client does not need account to view them just the link that I usually email.

    • @Neil3D
      @Neil3D  6 лет назад

      Aye but they need one to provide feedback in the design share session, I think, I haven't looked at it since day 1 so I'm rusty on that bit

      Oh sorry yeah, that is the problem when being logged into everywhere and forget.

      Also, there is no ability to restrict view permissions on the shared link. the IP is just open on the internet.

    Hey Neil, great video! I am curious how you would compare this approach to using Shared Views from Inventor? Do you have a preference over the two?

    Epic Neil. Thanks a lot.
    Those little things, which make a huge difference.
    Yay we are 17 at patreon 👍👍 people let’s get those numbers rising 👌
    I know vred is kinda a side thing, but will you bring something in that direction? The most recent Instagram render looks sweet.

      I swear on baby jesus I must have spent 90% of my life outside of work over the last 6 months playing with Vred, so yes there'll definitely be some Vred stuff coming! If you're referring to the black BMW though, that's not a render, that's my actual real car haha I was out taking photos to use as backplates so I take one photo with the car in then one without so I can match the lighting on the rendered car!

      I meant the orange one. Just saw your black one, that’s nice 👍
      I totally adore vred and it’s lightning.
      Having to do a lot of indoor render work of our products (proposed designs) at client locations(picture as decal environment).
      Great tool but I’m still far from where I want to get.
      Are you also having an eye on a threadripper2 build for render work ? 🤣
      Have a great evening.

    Thanks Neil. Seems to work great but I use Bluebeam and the model doesn't show up in it for some reason. I'll keep playing with it

    Fusion is giving me alot of head aches but in it i generate a link that the customer opens (in their browser) on their phone/computer wich lets them rotate,explode,measure ect and also add comments and then take snapshots of that and send back to me. When i then make the changes on the model theirs also update.

    nice video and great way to use annotation and I didn't use it that way.
    and could you please make video about mold base and mold assembly ?

    Kind of off topic here... A couple years back, you did a video on VR and CAD. Any chance you might be thinking about doing another one? Especially, with the new AR Magic Leap out now.

    • @Neil3D
      @Neil3D  6 лет назад +1

      Yep - I'm visiting a VR headset maker next week, not sure what to expect yet but that will result in probably a fair few videos on VR & CAD

    You can use measure tools inside adobe to reverse engineer it, it takes a long time, but I have done it.

  • @randolphgrieves4309

    Two things
    1. I do not see this option available to use with assemblies.
    2. Can this be published with something other than Adobe Acrobat Reader?

  • @17thSzAdDaM
    @17thSzAdDaM 5 лет назад

    Honestly with that one dimension value I can reverse engineer the whole part. Fellow ME here. Basically you do not give out any dimension and also block the possibility to measure anything in 3D pdf-s. I think the unprofessional method with low res pictures is a safe one.

  • @gcase08
    @gcase08 6 лет назад

    I tried to get clients to use 3d pdf but gave up. It was too difficult to get them to turn on 3d content in Acrobat reader or even to get them to download the free reader. The view function of 3d pdf is not very good compared exporting to dwf and sending the customer the link. All they need to do is click on the link, they need no software and with a quick pasted in note they have instructions to view and comment. Since I started doing this instead of 3d pdf things have gone very smoothly. 3d odf is OK but the dwf export is way better, in my and my customer's opinions.

      Ahhhhhhhh I really really really need to get on that, it felt like nobody gave a crap about it and it took so long to make an episode, so I might round it up to 5 episodes then do the final and get it over with! It didn't take off as well as I'd hoped.
