    I cant get enough of this series of videos. Thank you for making them. Can you do a video on your preferred cam for Inventor? Which cam would be best for 4 and 5 axis?

    Maybe go through some of the function buttons like stress analysis and convert to sheet metal stuff because your really good at explaining these!!

    • @Neil3D
      @Neil3D  6 лет назад +2

      In this series though it would just be a really low level explanation of what they do and a brief demo, I can't include full guides in this as it would take forever! But I'll definitely get to them eventually!

    Hey man, I just discovered your channel! I am learning Google Sketchup for architectural modeling, and I was wondering if I should buy a pro grade GPU or a gaming GPU, since the program is OpenGL based and not DirectX. I watched your gaming laptop video, and I learned that there is no difference with Fusion. Sketchup does use OpenGl. Could you do another video about the difference in performance in programs in which the program or another program like this does use the 'pro' features? I´d love to see more AMD pro card btw. ;)

    it would be cool if you could shell two sides of an object and have it keep the middle with equal thickness, like symmetrical cutouts from both sides. i think that would be very powerful.

    Have you anywhere on your channel done a tutorial on best workflow for importing 3rd part models, manipulating them, scaling them in particular as they are often come in in the wrong scale, sometimes they are surface model or sketchup models that don't alway play nice. Maybe a good topic for a tutorial, as i get asked it frequently in the workplace on how to do it would be good if i could just say I know a really good tutorial video that will help you with that. Its the sort of thing I have to look up and remind my aging memory when it occurs.
    Also on a slightly different area but still relevant to importing third party CAD system data there seems to be an increasing amount of point cloud data surveys that need to be referenced into models. I have been able to successfully swerve dealing with these so far but is the future it seems in collating existing survey data whether it be of machinery or buildings.
    So to summarise not a specific request but an idea for a tutorial on dealing with 3rd party models of different types, unless of course you have done it already on your channel and i just can't find it

    Thanks Neil - always enjoy your videos. Any chance you might do a video on KeyShot.... since Autodesk 'dumped' Showcase?

      Funnily enough m8 I've been playing with Keyshot A LOT over the last couple of weeks, and I mean a lot, like through to 4am some nights! I need a good amount of practice under my belt on it first before I release any content on it but I'm getting there, I'll never be a master on it but I'm getting close to being able to do some good stuff on it so yea that'll be coming soon. Also, it's a good one to do some hardware benchmarks on.

      That sounds great... hope to see something soon. BTW - I just downloaded a trial version of KeyShot this weekend and found it takes awhile to get use to their Real-time Ray Tracing. Also I had to import a .stp file in lieu of an Inventor .iam file for some reason. Does KeyShot have a "Plugin" for Inventor... like they have for SketchUp or SolidWorks??

    maybe you like to mention that you can taper with extrude if you need a degree angle for example love your videos tho

      Nope not going into that much detail on each function, if I cover every tick box and option on each function I'll never finish this series! thanks :)

    DECAL, it does not show in drawing after you accept the view angles. Is there anything you should do to make them visible?

    • @Neil3D
      @Neil3D  6 лет назад

      Aye your views need to be set to 'shaded view' else you just get the outlines of the model

      Lee Bowers it's not meant to be a follow-along type of video, it's purely for someone to check up on what a button does and see it do its thing

      TFI I know it’s not but there’s an issue with all educators who are confident in there knowledge of a subject going too fast,I’m just saying that I’ve noticed that while using this software that one wrong click and it all goes wrong.(as a beginner)
