    Scott, you missed the big difference between the P & PX… the PX is longer by 14” which, not only adds additional length to fit the Onan generator but offers additional space in back for gear, like bikes which can be tied down with the Ram Tracks. Happen to notice Mick wasn’t in the footage this time…camera shy? 😃

    You missed the fact that a PX is 18" more van (longer chassis). LOTS more storage. Murphy bed is made and ready and stows fully made with a topper. It's more the just air conditioning... the generator allows totally self-contained weeks at a time. We love our PX! :)

    Hi Scott. I recently bought a Solis PX as a poor man's Embassy Dolphin S. I.e., It runs great off grid and has that huge garage in the back. I've been wanting to reach out to you to thank you for all your great videos on Go Small. Live Large! becuase you talked me into moving from a larger Class C to this smaller format, and I'm now getting so much more use out of my RV than ever before. Your video that sealed the deal for me was the one where you showed us how you set up camp. I.e., you turned off your ignition and opened your slider. Voila! Done! Camp Made. We do the same thing now, as we don't need to connect to water, electric or sewer with our Solis PX. Do we wish we had Lithium? Sure. But we're Living Large even without it. Thanks again for guiding us to this place.

    The 59P is shorter than the 59PX. The Murphy bed is also standard on the 59P but the couch is a cool option if you need more seats.

    Gotta go with the PX for not only personal use, but for resale. AC & generator are a MUST plus extra space for bike garage, store screen room or inflatable kayak/paddleboard.

  • @BrittMFH

    Nope, differences are the PX has AC, generator, and extra space in the garage. I have a PX and it's well worth the extral💲.

      would be great if they did the PX with a couch in the back like the P, our main reason for looking at the 59P is the ability to travel comfortably with 5-6 people

    Would much rather have the Murphy style bed, having lived with a sofa sleeper I definitely would prefer a dedicated bed. Really like that they both have that front dinette area. I think of all the floor plans I’ve looked at, the concept of the front dinette is really a great functional space in a van.

  • @karinjones4380
    @karinjones4380 11 месяцев назад

    I love my 2021 Solis PX. It has been very reliable and I haven’t been back to the dealer yet for service. The engine generator keeps the AC batteries powered up. With the solar… You did not mention that… I never have a power problem. I travel during shoulder season to avoid summer crowds so I rarely need to stay at sites with hook ups for AC. It is nice to have an AC option. Drawbacks for me have been that bathroom door which we removed, small sink for washing dishes, firm mattress-so I had to add 2 inches of foam which makes it difficult to put the bed up, difficulty accessing storage when the bed is down, extra table in the back is wonky and can fall off frame… Many people just remove it, there is only one drawer in the kitchen, and I would love more. So since I travel solo some, I am so glad that I have had great reliability with this van. I love the wide open bay at the back and we use it like a truck bed for other things. Also, wish they put in a good fan. Good overview on a great van with lots of choices.

    Thanks, Scott. Your channel and what we learned from you are some of the reasons we bought our Travato last year (the 2021 59K version is what works for us, we're second owners). We love traveling in it. I'm wondering how many prospective Travato 59G buyers would cross shop the Solis 59px...it seems like the losing the black tank for a cassette results in a good amount of storage. I really like the under the floor storage in the rear of the camper in the Solis. I know the cassette vs black tank is a whole other debate, but to me it seems like swapping one no-fun chore for another equally no-fun chore.

    You’re not doing the 59P justice. The bench seat is an option, but most 59P’s I’ve seen have the same Murphy bed and under floor storage that is in the 59PX. The pop-top for both is an option. If the 59P does not have the pop top, there is room for AC, and it is an option. The 59P is on the Promaster 2500 chassis so is about 2 feet shorter than the 59PX which is why generator is not an option. You can’t tell by just looking at it but that vent in the pop-top is not a fan. It’s just an air vent. If someone missed it when the specs scrolled by, the pop-top versions of both have a 220 watt flexible solar panel attached to the pop-top roof. The non pop-top versions have a 170 watt panel on the roof. Also something you wouldn’t notice in a showroom is that none of the vans in the Solis line have an awning. The Solis line is Winnebago’s throwback to the old school “camper van”, as opposed to the glamper vans that are out there.

    Scott, take a look at some RUclips videos of the Weinsberg CaraBus, CaraTour, CaraLife. They build on the Ford Transit and Ram Pro master (Fiat Ducato) chassis and all offer a front lounge or as you call it "great room" floorplan. They already build on the Super high roof Ram Promaster chassis, which the American builders won't touch. They put a second bed above the front cab for kids. Another builder Knaus does that too in it's BoxLife❤❤❤ campervan.
    The Knaus Boxlife 630 ME has a drop down bed in the front dining area and an adjustable height "permanent style" bed in the back with 4 openable awning style windows plus a "great room" or front lounge with 2 additional openable windows and proper (3 point) seatbelts on the front facing second row, all in less than 21 feet

    Both great layouts. I wonder if Winnebago has ever looked at composite doors for the bath/shower. This would make it a bit less crowded/complicated in the shower with no curtain. I think it would be a huge improvement to any wet bath.

    If you can get about 25% off or so from MSRP, you are looking at around $113.5k. There's probably some dealer costs in there, so let's say $114k before taxes. Not a bad price for this unit if that includes lithium. Not sure if it's so good if it is just AGM though. Wish you could find out about the insulation provided in these vans too. Would be interesting to see how efficient the A/C is under hotter conditions. Be seeing you!

      The Truma heats 2.6 gallons of water. When that is depleted one needs to wait until the next 2.6 gallons is hot. When I shower in my van 2.6 gallons is plenty of hot water for a fast shower.

      The internal Nautilus system means that water tank, all plumbing and outside shower are inside the heated portion of the coach. Those units also have extra insulation throughout. We live in the SE so that means we don't HAVE to winterize. We fill tank and never hook up to campground water. That allows us to unplug and go!
