A great testbed for the future destroyers electronics and weapons systems. That is basically what they are as the power and room onboard these are stretched out to the max. For the coming decade they will do but once they need to be upgraded the navy will run into problems. They would have done better to make a cruiser based on the Arleigh Burke if they wanted long term service. But these are just an interim solution until they are finished with the design of the next generation of destroyers. These should be around Hawaii, Japan, South Korea and Guam all the time as long as the flight 3 is only available in low numbers. Once there are enough of them they can join the IIA in protection of individual carrier groups. The PLA missile forces are mainly a threat to fixed targets for now.
ddg-x will solve most of that, but we really need to bring back battleships. not ww2 shit, but a giant fuckin red, white, and blue dick in china's oceans with all our new shit on it, and armor, would amuse me. we could name it u.s.s. rockwell after the late great commander george lincoln rockwell.

To give the Independence class LCS some credit, its ability to operate in shallow waters, carry NSMs, and operate two Seahawk helicopters would probably be very beneficial to protecting shipping lanes in the Straight of Hormuz from Iranian interference.

Granted, soldiers and sailors do apply "nicknames" to these particular pieces of equipment, such as the TRQ was coined "turkey" while a piece titled TLQ was coined "Tilkey" bu this is left up to the people who work with the equipment. So understanding how the services title something might lend more credence to you. However, I doubt it. It is obvious through the wording used in this video that this was nothing more than reading the media release provided by the manufacturer/military.
Burke 3 is not even most powerful destroyer in US arsenal, Zumwalt with it's hypersonic launchers are more dangerous. It's built with stealth design, can do everything Burke can do, launch hypersonic and can be easily modified.
