Well done to the Royal Gibraltar Regiment . Gibraltar is proud . How very , very nice to see on GBC Tv today ( 31/3/22 )the presentation of the New Colours of the Regiment by HRH Highness Prince Edward , The Earl of Wessex himself at Windsor Castle in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen looking out the window . Excellent , Well Done ❤️👏👏🙌. With Best Wishes. British Gibraltar UK Overseas Territory 🇬🇧
I know what you are saying and I’m not sure of the reason but I can give you other Royal Regiments with other coloured facings: Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (27th of Foot) who wore grey facings, and Royal Irish Fusiliers (87th of Foot) who wore slightly lighter than Rifle Green facings. Perhaps, and ready to be informed, the Royal Blue Regimental facings were only for English County Regiments. Out side of England there would be National exceptions? Anyway, we’ll done the R Gib Regt. We had some of them come to our battalion for their TA Camp and Lydie and Hythe about 1998 ish and certainly what was lacked in experience was made up for in earnest enthusiasm and desire for professionalism.
The young Lieutenant’s helmet was too big. Someone had to be taking the piss out of him! “No Sir, it’s fine Sir, all the other officers wear it that way Sir”

Like the white uniforms that the soilders wear in Gibraltar aswell looks amazing from britian
Back in tunics, I see! Always a vibrant sight.
Colonial Regiments! Very nicely turned out.
Can anyone explain to me why they have grey facings but the regiment has a 'royal' title? In this case, why aren't the collars and cuffs dark blue?

Why am I thinking of a Carry on Film?mmmm
Not exactly the Coldstream Guards!
Carry On Crumbs of Pomp and Empire. It reminds me of Monty Python's 'marchin' up and down the square' sketch, with Michael Palin. Genius comedy!
