    Finally a genuine, honest build without flashy tools and prefect lighting. How it should be. How life is. Awesome design as well!

    I love this! Great use of mixed materials and lots of problem-solving. Good work. Sleeping in this teardrop that you made with your own hands is so rewarding.

    I also wanted to say how great I think it was you guys used so much recycled material. Doing it this way shows people it can be done on a budget and there are many ways to keep that budget low and affordable. I've been watching a bunch of these videos on DIY tear drops and some of these guys are so proud of there do it yourself trailers that they only spent $10,000 on materials and I'll tell you yours is every bit as nice as theirs is. Hey I don't have a problem with how much they spent that's on them but alot of the people looking to build their first teardrop are not looking to spend the same money as it would be to just buy. Hey I know there is so much more than just money that you get out of building like pride, style, design and savings but I just think your build was more down to earth. Thank you for sharing oh and I hope you decided to put a support on the rear hatch I seen it bending and swaying a lot when you open it and it will eventually leak and possibly break not to mention I'm sure you couldn't get a good seal on it when it's latched. Thanks again for sharing.

    Perfect example of "use what you've got" to build something cool. I must've watched a 100 builds with people who have a full shop, expensive tools and seemingly endless budget for new materials and yall just built essentially the same thing for a fraction the cost and time

    I haven't seen someone leave the sides on a trailer and use them in that way. It gives a lot of opportunities, rather than being something that definitely needs to be taken away. Thanks again for sharing.

    If you did it again would you still keep the under floor area as it does make the teardrop quite tall? Could you have a removeable cut out in the floor so you could sit on the chairs "normally"? The cut out could be used for a table top if you want to eat or work on a laptop. Is it hot inside with the large window? Have you considered putting in a fan? Sorry for all the questions.

    • @AE-bp1wq
      @AE-bp1wq  2 года назад +1

      Fan is on the Todo list, we love the storage area, Todo is a large sliding cabinet. The trailer sits a little higher than most, but we feel that it is worth it for the bottom area!

  • @timwegman5776

    Great job but that insulation you were trying to use didn't look like it was working out the way you hoped Oops. I'm sure you know already but if not if you try this again next time try using rigid foam board insulation, it's cheap, thin, pliable and is available in different "R" ratings so it's perfect for a job like this. Great job and I love the pass through doors what a great idea, I also absolutely love the trunk or fales foor idea that would be great for water tank, solar batteries and extra storage. You should put a long sliding draw on one side of it. I am thinking of building a tear drop and you have just given me lots of ideas now my wheels are turning just hope the gears don't start skipping haha.

    You are frigging awesome! great job!
    I'm looking for advice!
    I bought a micro squaredrop trailer "project" for my 65th birthday... I may have bit off more than I can chew! lol
    I live in San Diego so I have a few month b4 wheather become an issue lol
    the trailer has good bones but the man who started the build passed away... so the universe thought I should finish it!
    anyway ... I'm currently researching what is best way to seal exterior?
    also original builder framed and cut 1 window 26x32 in door in rear of trailer and just framed not yet cut 2 16x16 in windows in sides
    ideally I'd like to put a galley hatch in rear and doors on sides ?
    I'm currently looking for any advice or help anyone can offer 😁👍
    I dont want to get out my violins ... I have some skills
    the reason I'm doing this is because I am shooting survivor I actually stayed so busy b4 I I retired I didnt give myself time to think bout it lol
    but bcuz of progression in my injuries... to eye and face
    I now need a way to get out and battle my PTSD in a positive way 👍😁
    any advice you or your peeps can offer would be VERY APPRECIATED ❣
    5x8x5 plywood with foam insulation and balsa paneling walls ...
    weather proofing is #1 priority right now ... HELP!

    Love the tear drop... but for cutting plexiglass, why didn’t you use a circular saw with smaller teeth, like used for cutting paneling?

    • @AE-bp1wq
      @AE-bp1wq  3 года назад

      That’s a great idea, we tried several different things, the grinder with a tile blade seemed to work ok. I’m sure the paneling circle saw combo would work better!

    What material is going in the wall at 10:00 min into video?

    • @AE-bp1wq
      @AE-bp1wq  3 года назад +2

      It is a mix of soap, concrete, organic insulation filler, and foam beads. It did make the trailer heavier, but in return the heat retention is pretty good!

    • @MrCbell57
      @MrCbell57 3 года назад

      @@AE-bp1wq Wow, I thought it was something like: lightweight concrete as well as the Styrofoam beads and what looked like some type of insulation. Just watching how it reacted to mixing and you guys stuffing it. Interesting. Thanks.
