    we are still seeing a lot of progress in the field of computer graphics, especially with the development of AI that can do what we do as artists.
    So how would this affect your 3D modeling career or artistic career in general? Is AI threatening the jobs of 3D artists? Is 3D modeling still in demand?

    As a 3D artist myself, 3D -3D-scanning, AI generation, and different kinds of premade animation systems are tools to create stuff, but you still need someone to use those tools to create desired visuals to use those tools to make 3D happen. Even if AI going to be a strong part of the incoming workflow, man must be operating to use tools to create humanly compelling stories out of them.

    AI = fast, free, hundreds of variations, can deliver many options to choose from for less specific needs
    Human = slow, expensive, a few variations, experts can deliver on a very specific vision fine tuning for accurate detail
    Solution = Use AI to brainstorm ideas with client, narrow in on vision and then artist adds to or creates final specific and detailed model.

    • @A_Train
      @A_Train 2 года назад +8

      This is how designers of the future should work. Get brief, run it through AI, present options to client, narrow down vision and give it to the artist for that human touch.

    • @brettcameratraveler
      @brettcameratraveler 2 года назад +7

      @@Anton_G_604 You misunderstood. wouldn't want to give the client a thousand variations. That would take days to just go through. Hundreds or less - and those would probably filter through the artist first to create perhaps 1 to 10 examples for them to look at. There would be plenty of detail in the AI versions as well but the point is it might not be details that that have been tailored perfectly to the needs of the project. Depending on the client, the artist might want to invest their time before they get paid by adding in their own touches but with other clients that do not have a clear vision or haven't established themselves as a reliable, high paying client, the artist may want to use AI to be more efficient with their time during the initial brainstorm period. The point is AI is coming - well its here - and these are the new options available to the artist to choose to take advantage of.

      I agree with that, but when AI takes over most of the work, humans only for fine tuning. Then the workload will shrink and the competition will increase. There will also be more unemployed.....

      How much can we program AI to be "creative"? Only the human mind is truly designed for that. I don't believe AI will replace that anytime soon. The experiences of life with all of its nuances can only be told by humans.

    The issue is that AI may replace humans one day, just like automation and robots in industry replaced quite a lot of people/jobs in the last 30 years, the money always goes to a few ones on top of the pyramid not to those who really need it and initially did the job. I personally think technology is really cool but replacing humans isn't, art done by AI may be complementary but I hope it won't replace the real artists.
