I read Fable by Adrienne Young. She has the reflection of a ship (which i in water) in her eye. Plus the back cover has waves splashing up. Hopefully, you can count one of these. If not I'm currently reading Fathomfolk and it has waves on the cover.

I have just started and will finish today The Mighty Heart of Sunny St. James. It is a middle grade and has the ocean on the cover. It is written by Ashley Herring Blake. It is about a young girl who has a heart transplant. Quite good!
