Well I'm not sure what type of building material supply houses you have in your area but if you can ID the make and model number sometimes you can call the manufacturer directly and they'll let you know if there's a replacement glass available for the model. Sometimes they go out of production where they change the sizes and may or may not be able to replace just the glazing. They could also refer you to a vendor in your area
That's a tough one. I know in my area most contractors aren't skilled enough to take it on it is a specialty job. Best bet is to call someone who offers skylight service and find out if they're interested in doing that if it can be done depending on the age of the skylight
Hi I am considering to replace the glass for my new place where the two skylight ( 20 yeas old) are all sealer failure. It is made by Wasco and should be the standard size around 22inchx46inch. I check the price for the whole new skylight is around 170-200 promotional price and the replacement glass from Wasco is $ 239 from Wasco local dealer. It seems like glass cost more than whole set. Should I just replace the glass? Do you think I can do it by myself? Easy? Any instruction? ( I don't know if I DIY, will it cause the leaking later. Any reminder? how much does the labor cost and where I can ask for this service? If replace the whole skylight, how much will it be for the labor? I try to find the easiest way to fix the glass problem without having a big construction on the roof. Replacing the whole skylight or Replacing the glass only ? Which one is the best for me. I believe you had the experience on replacing the glass on Wasco skylight. You video looks great . Please let me know where you get the NEW glass part. IS it possible I can get the glass cheaper form some Glass repair factory/store. I am in NJ08852 Thanks for all your suggestion I
Hi thanks Well you must have the manufacturer remake the glass, these as shown with low "e" ran 185.00 each, very simple replacement, frame comes off then the glass, older units the glass will lift right off... use care and safty, they do come with simple basic instructions, usually you need only a screw drive to change out the glass. Price sound high but it depends on location, size and dealer, contact wasco for other dealer in your area
I contact Wasco, they say they don't give price but provide me some dealer in my area NJ 08852. I got two price now 197 and 239, the part number is AGL2246EMT Do you think the price in NJ area is fair? Any advice from you will be helpful. Hope you don't mind I ask you more question later when I do this project. Thanks a ot
look around usually easiest is to change out the glass rather than disturbing the roof and set of the skylight, if you basic handy, thanks all you'll need ...once on the building roof literally a ten to 15 minute time job, rubber seals are usually in tact and unit will self seal with no silicones good luck!!!
like your video, however you need to hold the camera more steady and possibly further back. Thank You
Where can I buy the replacement glass? Im in Tennessee.
