Very interesting translation! Not only offering some unique translations and renderings, but also reordering so much material. I also enjoyed learning he worked on the RSV!
That was super interesting. I've heard of Moffatt's translation, but never seen one in the wild, and I didn't put two and two together regarding his role in the RSV. Thanks, Joe!
Funny that Moffat had David in a kilt. After the 1745 Jacobite Uprising, the British government classified the bagpipes as an "Instrument of War" (I think it was the 1747 Disarming Act), so, who knows, maybe Goliaith was treated to the skirl of the pipes before he got whacked.
I've got a couple of copies of the Moffitt Bible it's probably one of the better easy to read bibles, although Dr Moffitt did leave a few things out that are written in the manuscripts. KJV is the closest KJV is the closest translation KJV is the closest translation but KJV is the closest translation noticed. KJV is the closest translation to the manuscripts which isn't perfect, but I still like to reference Dr Moffitt on certain things that he got right over the KJV.
@@joest.eggbenedictus1896 I also possess a 1858 Clark’s commentary. I prefer the dialect of the James Moffatt translation above all. Nice to see someone else with one!

Beautiful translation of words of God. God bless you more brother
I have heard of this translation, but I cannot remember where. It would be interesting to read through. Thank you for sharing it.
