Miyyah White personally, I thought that Madam Yu was just too stubborn and prideful which makes her seem cold. If you look carefully however, she cares for the boys in her own way. I believe she was fair when being strict and besides, you can’t really compare Jiang cheng and Wei wuxian especially since Wei was the bigger trouble maker which would obviously result in harsher consequences. Even if this wasn’t the case, if she treated Wei Ying with equal love then Jiang cheng would just get more jealous so in her own way, she was protecting not only Jiang cheng but also Wei from becoming envied by his step brother. So in that case, I wouldn’t call her the cause of Jiang cheng’s jealousy. If anything, I’d say that it was the father who ignited the jealousy from excessive kindness and pity. But I cant blame him since he feels guilt and a sense of responsibility towards Wei which is why his actions are somewhat of a grey area. Honestly, MDZS is just really good at dealing with the ideas of good and bad. It shows the complexity of the human nature. The fact that she "seem cold" because of her personality doesn't change the fact that she was abusive for her adoptive child (and not only, she was harsh for Jiang Cheng too, always scolding him for being weaker then WWX). I hate her to the core for blaming WWX for everything just like he was only a nuisance all the time. And I hate Jiang Cheng for the same thing. Blaming the victim lvl hard - always acting like WWX didn't loose his family in the war too, screaming to give him his parent back, just like they wasn't WWX's parents too, just like WWX was a stranger who ruined his family. Never really listen to what WWX said but paying somuch attention to others trash talking. Making WWXs sense of responsibilty even more pathological than it already was. How sad.

It’s honestly heartbreaking when we realise that Jiang Cheng considers Wei as an outsider rather than a brother. It shows that his jealously surpasses that of simple and innocent brotherly fuses. Also, I had completely missed the fact that Madam Yu degraded Jiang Cheng’s self worth which makes sense since she is paranoid due to the possibility that her husband could choose Wei as an heir instead of her son. Overall, she is simply a prideful character who acts according to a lack of trust within her husband who is also to blame as effective communication only works if both parties are willing to be open about themselves. However, I still believe that Madam Yu is not an entirely bad character. She simply suffers from certain flaws which makes her human. -honestly though, your words were really convincing which made me think deeper about her character. Thank you for the discussion✊😤💖💓
