    Have a few different BB rods and have never had any issues. Fish almost every Sunday and have even caught a 4 foot spinner shark on a stealth sniper. Was tough only being a medium extra fast action.

      @hookcraft_fishing  Год назад +1

      I bet they was a fight! 🤣 I think my BB just have bad luck. I whacked my stealth sniper again not too long ago and it has been YEARS since I’ve done that. 🤦🏻‍♂️

      @@hookcraft_fishing dang it man. I’ve gotten mine on the roof of my garage and get nervous but luckily nothing has ever happened. I have never had the reel animals one.
      Yea I mainly fish with my sniper medium 6-12 and throw a ton of artificial but also use it as my sheepshead rod. That feel is phenomenal. That’s how I caught the shark. It hit a fiddler and took off on a good run but had to baby it in. I now do a Banshee extra fast incase that happens again. I thought I was going to snap it how bad I had it bent.

    Bull Bay fixes all their Rods for free… best warranty ever!

    • @hookcraft_fishing
      @hookcraft_fishing  5 месяцев назад +2

      Absolutely! I’ll give them credit there. They will fix it, but shipping is where it gets you. Depending on the size rod and what part of the country you’re in, it’s almost easier to just get a new rod. That’s not their fault either, the post office needs to make their money too.

      @@hookcraft_fishing I was thinking the same, reel will be here later this week, so I'll get the rod around that time, I don't own a Penn 2500 so I don't have a feel for the size, so when I get it in I'll decide between the 5-10 and the 6-12 should be a sick combo

  • @colesheehan9929
    @colesheehan9929 5 месяцев назад +1

    Hey man, I’m looking for a setup just like that but I was wondering it that specific rod being a medium heavy and also a 7’6 rod, is it to heavy for smaller fish like 23in reds and smaller specs? I really only fish for skoolie stripped bass and make some trips to Charleston sc every year or so.

    • @colesheehan9929
      @colesheehan9929 5 месяцев назад

      Right now the only setup I use is a 7ft medium st.Croix with a 2500 shimano nasci.

    • @hookcraft_fishing
      @hookcraft_fishing  5 месяцев назад

      @@colesheehan9929 Nope not at all. It’s a good size for those sized fish. Sure you can probably get away with just a medium but a medium heavy will work just fine. Plus, if you do find a bigger fish, that extra back bone can handle it.

      Out of that group I would say your top two choices would be the Saltist MQ or the Saragosa. I’ve never fished a Saragosa but after doing some research, those two reels are really close. The Saltist has more drag, but the Saragosa has higher inches per turn when retrieving line. Both are sealed similarly but the Saragosa is more self service friendly. That being said, I’ve almost never done any sort of maintenance on my Saltists other than washing them off and they are silky smooth. Saragosa and Saltists are really high quality reels and you really can’t go wrong with one or the other.

      @@hookcraft_fishing still better than buying a new rod, no?

    • @hookcraft_fishing
      @hookcraft_fishing  Месяц назад

      @ Depends on the rod in my opinion. For a stealth sniper that is $180 and shipping there and back is close to $120 ($60 both ways) then I rather just save the time and get a new rod. Their $400 carbon fiber rod they have now…yeah that would be worth it. Unless they have changed their shipping policies now, but when I spoke to them, that was the deal.
