Try to put a clear sheet between the higher & the shadows so the dark powder (fall out) whenever you close the palette won't contaminate the highlighter. I'm so happy for you, it looks so beautiful ❤️
There's nothing wrong with saying how beautiful something is a million times... There's so many things going on in this world today that aren't very beautiful, so have at it & say it as much as you like! 🌹 I think that it's a beautiful case as well. This was a great idea for makeup storage!
For those who don’t know, this is a cigarette case. You can get them in a couple of different shapes & in endless designs. You can buy them from just about anywhere; ie eBay, Amazon, Etsy etc. They tend to be incredibly inexpensive as well.
Klaire, what do you do with the silica bags? Why do you keep those? Thanks for sharing! Love this makeup solution so much, I’m thinking I’ll do something like yours.
I would recommend using a piece of parchment paper or some kind of clear plastic film to place between the shadows when it's closed. Other than that, it's beautiful. 😊
I never thought id be the type of person who enjoys just such simple videos. When i watch videos normally i hope for exciting and crazy things to happen but since i found your channel even this makes me happy to watch. Im not trying to make it sound like theres no effort or excitement in your videos but its like a different genre while i like things to be fast and adrenaline driven its also really nice to just relax with something as wholesome and satisfying as your videos. I really love your content!
My son decided to go into my office at an ungodly hour when everyone was asleep and proceed to spread glitter everywhere. My walls, floor, and outside of my office are still covered with glitter a month later.
Hi Klaire- I just wanted to say I'm watching RUclips to distract me from a headache (neck pain, etc) and your videos are lovely to watch and listen to! You're voice is so nice and relaxing and I really love how authentic you are. I've been subscribed for years and years and I'm a big fan! 😄 - Ginger 💜💚
I have been wanting to do something like this to my makeup but I wasn't quite sure how to do it! I don't smoke but I have always loved vintage cigarette cases so I never had an excuse to buy one until now! This is literally a God send, thank you!!
You are always so creative with your minimalism journey! I would have never thought to use something like this! May I ask what eyeshadows you use? I love square ones, they can be arranged better in cases such like this!
I don't know which brand she uses, but Makeup Geek has just rebranded and their eyeshadow pans are square now! They've made adjustments to make the formula better but keep the prices as low as before (for some items even lower) and they are cruelty-free, pay their employees fair wages, indie and woman-owned. The original formula of eyeshadows and other products was already phenomenal, so if it's even better now, I'd definitely check it out!
@@MsNarutosuchti You're very welcome. I have loved literally every single product from Makeup Geek so far and if my finances start to recover this year, I'll surely get some of their new stuff as well. If you're in the US they are stocked at Target and online, if not they ship to almost anywhere in the world via their site. Have fun!
@@9melissal You can buy cheap separate shadows too, but from drugstores! I do have two, but they do come in plastic packaging and I haven't tried removing it
You are such an inspiration for decluttering and minimalism. I've recently just started to downsize my office which serves as an all in one office/beauty/craft/gaming room and it was so full of things I thought I needed but really dont. It's so hard to get rid of things and organize but I've gotten rid of so much junk and donated bags of stuff already, and really want to optimize what I have instead of hoarding a million things. So shorter version of that rant, love your videos, they really help as I struggle with the house purge!
Makeup Geek has switched to square shaped shadows. They would probably fit in there perfectly. Also it seems easier to use some of that magnetic sheet stuff, that's adhesive on one side. It's used for putting photos on the fridge. It could easily be cut to fit exactly.
In the future, if you are looking for something similar to put more eyeshadow in and you want some really pretty vintage things, check Etsy! They have a bunch of old compact cases and makeup holders there that won't break the bank and are super pretty!
This is beautiful!!! Thank you sooo much for sharing, I’m really inspired to look into this as an option for a new palette for my singles if the time comes to get one!
Lot's of uses. I pop a few in any bags of dried apple crisps that I make. I keep a few in my memory box which is stored in the attic (we currently have a leaky roof, so everything needs to be protected from moisture). They saved my phone about a year ago when I dropped it in a bucket. I'm going to do a video soon including them, so I'll try and make a full list of what I use them for then.
@@Panya.V Same! I shamefully didn't know for a very long time that they can save purses, wallets, shoes, etc from mold. My mother found that out the hard way a few years ago (a gorgeous pair of her shoes molded after there was a leak in the closet of all places) and since then I've used them as insurance for all of my shoes and bags. You can also buy them on Amazon!
I like hearing you gush about things! Everything you've ever done on youtube has felt so nicely aesthetically curated but man that makeup drawer is Aesthetically Curated. It's beautiful.
you have such amazing energy when you got the little arms off the inside. Hopefully your little man will be better behaved and stay out of your pallets as he gets older.
I love how you are so happy about this. Just great what you did there, but please put a sheet of paper or foam between the shadows. If you will drop this beautiful little case, the shadows don't mix in with the Highlighter and it will protect the shadows.
Brilliant! I have to go shopping for a cigarette case now haha I bought one of those large rainbow palettes that have more than I could ever ask for, so it'll be nice to pop out the 2 or 3 I do want to start using and keep them in my bag ☺
I might have thought you could pull the pin out of the hinge and just slide out the clasps you wanted to get rid of? Then you could save the clasps and reuse them for something else. Loved seeing a vid from you again, hope you're having a good start to the new year! 💜
Hi! Silica beads are amazing to dry some things, like when you accidentally wet/soak with water your mobiles, remote controls etc..just put your gadget inside a jar or container filled with the gel beads, give it few hours and it will be dry..x
Great idea and very beautiful, I would just put the darker shade on the bottom in case it breaks it doesn’t mix with the lighter shades. Well done love the video.
Your ideas always amaze me! I usually use cigarrete cases for my watercolours because I don't like to travel with big cases that weight too much. Does this case weight a lot? I used magnetic tape and stuck that to the inside. Then I just magnetice the pots to swap out. I found that less lumpy than the tacky putty. It’s a beautiful case 😍

i was just about to comment that ♥ a nice little clear sheet to keep the dark dust away
Me too, my first thought-- or put dark colours on same side, so when it closes darks will be dark together
thanks for that tip

I completely agree with the concept that everything should be beautiful! Your makeup drawer is stunning.

You should put the darker colours on the other side so the black for instance doesn't fall into the highligher.

try nano tape!!! It sticks really well and can also act as a cushion to absorb shock. You can also wash the tape with water and reuse it!

I think the key to minimalism isn't to not enjoy material things at all, it's to really really enjoy a very small number of material things.

I’d be more inclined to put the highlighters on the opposite side, the black shadow could contaminate it
Or you could just put a layer of a thin foam between them when you close it. Would give an extra bit of protection too
I didn't see a link to the case...
