A pro not mentioned in the video:
many babies are actually allergic to disposable nappies and _have_ to use cloth nappies.
everyone in my family and every close family friend i know has always used cloth nappies for their babies and never had issues as far as i'm aware

Same here! I one day plan to have a child. Not for a least another decade (as I am 22 and the idea of having a child in my twenties right now is literally terrifying and I have a very good feeling I'll have severe postpartum depression). So, what I do is I watch all these videos ranging from women's experience during their pregnancy to child birth and to well then afterwards. How they deal with teething, nappies, how they use more natural homemade products versus store bought. It helps put my mind at ease and brings me at least in the smallest bit closer to feeling more comfortable with the idea of having a child.

I use period underwear, which are like reusable sanitary pads but in an underwear. I do have to hand wash them every evening and night which really doesn’t take too long, around 10 minutes? Rinse them through with just water and then either chuck them in the washing machine or thoroughly wash them through with soap meant for hand washing delicate clothing. in terms of the smell, I don’t find that there’s any smell while wearing them although during the washing process it can smell a bit metallic but it usually isn’t too bad on medium flow days. I hope this helped :)

Sun bleaching is magic with cloth nappies.
This was a great video for anyone wanting to try cloth nappies, it really isn‘t as hard as I initially thought and I’m glad I used them for my little ones.
To save money for wipes i bought cheap face cloths from Ikea. They also doubled up as extra liners when i ran out of them.

Not that Faster, higher, further stuff that most youtuber or at least many popular German youtubers do. Your voice is so calming and nice to hear. This is what frustrates me so much about RUclips at the moment (other than having all my makeup tutorials demonetized because they weren't advertiser-friendly). What's the point of having a subscribe button if it doesn't work?

I know this is an old video but still a tip for viewers, have about twice the amount of inserts if you use natural fiber inserts, the pockets dry really fast, but then you have to wait for the liners to dry, if you have double, you can stuff the pockets with the inserts from the previous load, and save the current drying inserts for the next load
Also personal note, you saying the nappies make you happy, is exactly how I feel! But it is also the reason why I will probably not save a penny, it now has almost become a hobby to build my prettiest dream stash, but it makes me happy 🥰 (I buy the cheapest pockets, and second hand, so there's that)

Such a lovely video 💕 our babies are (or should have been!) a similar age I think, my girl came 2 months early though so she's only 14lb and 1 year old (she was 2lb10oz when born!). I tried cloth nappies, got on fine with them and loved it but my daughter's physiotherapist felt the cloth nappies were hindering her development. The reason was because she was SO tiny and the cloth nappies were bulky, she just didn't have the strength to attempt to move much however the disposables are so thin she found it easier to move her legs. She's now sitting up and standing (aided) at the moment, developmentally she's a bit behind but such a happy girl, just needs more time to grow 😍 So envious you're able to use the washable nappies though, so satisfying to know you're doing good by using them. Love what you said about not going on holiday 😂👍 xx

    Hi klair,
    I absolutely love this video!
I am 28 weeks pregnant and ready to take the full plunge into cloth nappies. I have read the blog associated with this video and you recommend little & bloomz nappies. Before I buy the nappies from them I was wondering how these nappies worked for you as your bubba got older? All the reviews I can find talk about how good they are for younger babies, but I really want to make sure that they will last until my bubba is potty trained.
My friend has used alva nappies, which apparently look very similar to the little & bloomz nappies and she said the elastic on the leg wasn't great and she had to rebuy all of her nappies from little lamb nappies to fit her son as he grew.
    Thank you!

Thank for doing this video. I don’t have children but when I do, this was something I’ve seriously been debating. I think disposable for the first bit when they’re pooping out that black tar(😂) and then go to cloth

Getting ready for my first baby and 100% going cloth. Thanks for this video, so informative. One question though, what is that spray made from that you put in the nappy bin?

I have seven kids. For the first six I used cloth nappies. I often had two kids in nappies at the same time. Yes it was a lot of washing. But I think it was worth it. It’s funny how using cloth nappies is seen as radical now lol back in the 1980’s it was the norm.

    Lovely video. Thank you.
Please can I ask what you use in the spray bottle you squirt into the nappy bucket?

I noticed in the blog post and in the video you didn't mention the super thin disposable meshy linner things people normaly use with cloth diapers, so it's easier to throw away the poop! I forgot the name of those D: but I've seen them in other cloth nappies videos. Maybe it can help!
I don't even have a baby yet, but when I do I'll definately use cloth nappies as well! 😊
And yay for reusable pads!! I've been using them for years and they changed my life!

I tried those (they claimed to be biodegradable and flushable) and they always seemed to roll up inside the nappy and they weren't biodegradable. As an experiment, I put them in the wash a few times to see if they would start to break down. After 5 washes they were still like new. I wasn't impressed at all.

This is a great video! Thank you!
I've been using reusable sanitary napkins for a while now and we are expecting a little one come September. When your little one was a newborn, did you use disposables more than reusable? I'm worried about sizing. My baby is half Asian and most times, Asian babies are a little smaller than western.

He is adorable and looks like his mummy!
I’ve used disposables with my soon to be two year old, but I’m thinking for future kiddos maybe switching to cloth.
The only thing I’m concerned about is putting the poopy diapers in the wash. Do you pre-wash them or does the washer take care of it?

Huge compliment for picking out those glasses, they are an absolute delight to see! I´ve never seen that style before, may I ask where you got them from? Are those with correction or just clear glass?

    • @KlairedeLysOfficial
      @KlairedeLysOfficial  5 лет назад

They're correction (I'm super short-sighted) I got them from Specsavers, they're called the Aichi glasses. Here is the link if you want it: www.specsavers.co.uk/glasses/aichi
