Kim's ability to high scream from 0 to 100 in an instant with such projection and diction is incredible to me. I've been screaming for a decade and doing that is really hard, getting the projection immediately with no buildup takes real skill.
also she was so focused on the visuals and lyrics that she couldn’t even properly critique the actual tenacity, creativity, and range of Kim’s voice. They’re like a jack of all trades when it comes to vocals
I like this track and how batshit insane it is, but I get that it isn't for everyone. I personally think that creatively, they're mad talented.
Completely agree!!
Always on repeat! Say please by Kim Dracula is also good
@omegashinra7672
Yep, crazy talented usually goes with batshit crazy... But then again the guy is from Hobart, you can't blame him for being a bit different 😂
They are also extraordinary in live performance. It comes across with the same technical proficiency and accuracy found in the recordings but with an uncompressed rawness.
The entire album is a reflection on how messed up the world is, and how easily one person can go from seemingly normal to completely broken, absolutely fantastic and well worth a listen, probably my top album of the year
same
Same here, fave artist since they dropped killdozer! The way that Kim plays with musical genres and the messages behind the songs are literally mindblowing.
I understand that reacting to Kim Dracula's message is intense..but I was a little disappointed we didn't get to hear more of your input on his actual vocals. As a vocal coach that was what I was here for. I'm curious what you think about his control and how he moves from that growling to full chorus.
EXACTLY
preach! The video title should read "social commentator reacts to Kim Dracula" lol
It's a terrible song to judge vocal control on as most of it is cut in and edited in post
I was just about to comment this. I don't understand why she didn't comment on his VOICE. We weren't here for commentary about the video and how she hates violence.
Echo'ing what everyone else said. Like, I get it, not being in America and seeing guns so openly can be shocking for some (and I am anti-gun) but felt like I was click baited. I wanted to hear about his voice, not his choices.
I love watching non-Dracula fans watch Dracula 😂 great entertainment
I appreciate the fact that, while it wasn't her kind of thing, and that it had themes and elements to it that genuinely make her uncomfortable, she still gave it her full attention, and was able to get down to the core of what the song(and video) was actually trying to say, which, to be honest, while it isn't that hard to figure out, I'm pretty sure this is the first reaction video I've actually heard make mention of it, oddly. Anyway, it just goes to show that she was actually paying attention to it, and even if it wasn't her kind of art, she was still able to appreciate it for what it was. I feel like the ability to do that is something that's lost on a lot of people, so it's nice to see.
That’s what I thought too!
Yeah I appreciate that as well. Sometimes music is a self relctionn on society.
I don’t think the message or lyrics for her full attention, at all!
Maybe she’ll give him a second chance though :)
I love Kim dracula and his music! Hes an extremely unique individual. Thank you for not bad mouthing him even tho it was apparent that you didn't care for it. 💚
I don't think that's the reason she didn't bad mouth him.
I mean she knows only Kim Dracula fans are going to watch this video so she better not insult him or she'll get destroyed 😂
@@satvikmudgal9062 destroyed? She doesn't want that type of community. She acted professional as always.
they. even Beth managed to respect their pronouns, unlike many people.
@CrimsonCrowess nobody cares what you think. HE HE HE HE.
@CrimsonCrowess I want to know where you heard this? I haven't been able to find anything about Kim's pronouns. I always respect people's pronouns. I have non-binary individuals in my family. If I get confirmation of Kim's pronouns, I'll adjust my my statements from now one, but don't come at me like you gotta big 🍆 or I'll rip it off.
Kim Dracula has it all. The most innovative musician in many years. He brings so many genres in a fresh melting pot of insanity. His art is not only beautiful but twisted on a level that is a fair representation of the madness in our current society. Originality, great composition, and a true artist.
I haven’t enjoyed something this much since that Korn dubstep album
I'd bet her reaction is exactly what the artist is looking for here. This is so well done parts of it still hit hard even as many times as I've watched it and shown it to other people.
Usually Love Beth ,he's a genius she got triggered (like Intended)#@!$×
@@prs149 like it really said it's a reflection of the world now, it's not like he does the shit in his free time in real life 😭😭
@@prs149 Late to the part, but yeah. That was the look of a person coming to grips with a grim reality that is our world right now.
It's a tough watch, but it's meant to be. It's meant to give a strong message about the mess of the world rather than it being an endorsement of violence. Much like Marilyn Manson's "Love Song" it's more of a mirror on society showing you how much of a mess the world is. I grew up in Scotland too and we saw huge changes in gun laws for very good reason when I was in primary school (I had nightmares for months at the time)! It is really hard when you turn on the news to more violence and a lack of access to therapy or mental health services or ignoring of the red flags. I know when I first saw the video I sat in stunned silence not knowing whether to cry or rage that things haven't changed since the late 90s when Marilyn Manson had fingers pointed at them for something that had nothing to do with them or their music. I remember writing about that in high school with hope that things would change. Sadly, it's become worse and it breaks my heart every time there's another news story from wherever it is in the world.
Musically, Kim is worth revisiting but maybe without the visuals because they have an incredible diversity in vocal styles as well as the genre jumps. Visually, they're picking up from where Marilyn Manson left off with that shock factor.
I'm so sorry that you weren't given warning at the violence beforehand when it was suggested to you. I just wanted to give you a wee hug by the end of it all. If we had more beautiful and caring souls like yourself in the world, it would be a far lovelier place to live in!!!
You’ve made it very clear throughout the whole video that you don’t like violence, we get it. I think most people clicked on this video to get your take on Kim’s vocal abilities but somehow you made it about you still.
1000% This and similar to my response. I almost couldn't even get past 1:30 because I knew it would simply be about how she didn't like guns etc. etc. and sure enough......
I think it’s beautiful 🤩 AMAZING imagery to show how fucked up this world is
For a vocal channel you mainly focus on the music video which is quite disappointing
all the people in the comments not getting the message, calling it “bad” art and saying they couldn’t understand it because of the growls and screaming, are the prime example of ignorants that this song is supposed to go to. pay some attention to the lyrics and especially americans, stop being blinded by media:) this Kim Dracula is australian, the whole world can see through your hatred and mediatized love for guns and violence, except yourselves :)
Well said. Some folks can't handle the truth. 🤷
Of course it is also bad on the opposite end like UK with so much knife attacks but we all have something to learn.
KIM DRACULA IS A GENIUS 🦇🔥🦇 10/10
besides society comments where were the vocal comments? :D
Right, feel like his vocal range and talent was overlooked
@@annjepsen1621 every song his vocals cut to the core
I love that she realized the message halfway through
if some of yall are disappointed that she didn't go into his vocals much, i encourage you to go watch chris liepe's video on the same song. he's experienced with screaming and throat singing and his breakdown of this song is wonderful.
She says I'm not one for unnecessary violence right before an even more violent party 1:14 ahh I love this
ngl I was laughing so hard hearing that and knowing what they were about to do literally seconds after she unpaused it 🤣 I respect her for sitting through it and giving it her thoughts even when it made her uncomfortable.
Kim dracula is a great artist. There's bossa nova, jazz, metal, punk, trap... in his songs.
Mr bungle did this 20 years ago
Honestly this is why I respect you so much. You could've just held your nose, said this is trash and moved on, but instead you just see art. That's awesome.
As for me personally, I was first introduced to this song a number of months ago, and if they just sang it like in the chorus, I'd absolutely adore it. That part is stupid catchy!
I just found Kim and I absolutely love his music
Just discovering Kim Dracula today I’m am blow away by the artistry and ability
Kim is a genius.
Kim Drácula es un genio extrovertido me encanta su música alocada
Got to see how Kim drac in concert it was insane
+1 for therapy.
Yeah therapy doesn't help tbh like it will help some people but not all if therapy works than why is there so many people hurting abusing and tormenting others than...
@@BIGFLUFFERS I hear you but I was talking about me being in therapy. lol
@@sideshowericka yes ik

I didn't think about the transitions between musical styles as a comparison to societal reactions to violence. Great observation!
I hate that people don’t understand his artwork. He puts in different genders of music and he makes awesome videos and shows his art and different ways and people don’t understand it. I personally love his vocals and I personally love music like this because it’s different.
She’s just being blown away
He’s from Tasmania, the message is very pertinent to where he is from.
They had an awful incident happen which is very ingrained into their upbringing.
The violence you’re talking about was their reality!
Very layered. Vocals are crazy! :)
This is beautiful music…everyone expresses themselves differently…..nobody has the right to say weather or not this is “good music” or “bad music” 😊
the greatest thing and I know she noticed it but then she said nothing about it ,but the greatest thing is the brass ! the horns trumpets sax that he adds in for just 2 or 3 sec is the greatest hook I even seen anyone do!?
Lady, you will be protected
This isn't a song - it's a statement. Very much in the same vein as Marilyn Manson back in the early days. It's meant to shock, repulse and make you question. And it is powerful in its message as far as I'm concerned.
Love kim and ur take I'm glad artist put out what people turn a blind cheek to. It's out there and won't stop. Song is so spot on. He is a multi talent artist.
It is a big problem to IGNORE violence in the world. You might not like it, but it's here. You have to face it to change it. If you ignore it, you are just as big of a problem as the ones creating violence.
I didnt hear one comment about his vocals
I love Kim his music just speaks volumes within the lyrics and visuals
Went to an Avenge Sevenfold concert, only to love Kim Draculas performance (they were the opening band) and Avenge Sevenfold cancel last minute 😂
I was literally ordering a drink and than “Drown” came on and I froze than looked over to my Husand and was like “what is this song? I need it”.
Avenged sevenfold suck ass.
Kim is legit.
I don't agree with judging a song, based on the first verse. There's a message to be had, but you have to listen to the entire song to get it.
The dress up, guns, and such are just an article platform for the song.
Reminds me of the Slayer lyric, “the beauty of death we all adore.”
The trumpet made my day
watch 70 thorns his vocal range is so crazy its like he can do everything
when i first watched this it took me a confused minute or 2 to realise this was a real piece of art, i liken it to sleep token and marilyn manson, and a few other contempories.
Imagine going back in time and showing this to people in 1700s lol.
I really enjoyed your analysis. Make me famous was the first video that introduced me to Kim Dracula, and I absolutely got hooked by the chaotic nature of it .
So many Karens and Kevins in the comments 😂
This song is brilliant imo
Great reaction.
I translated it similarly but it's good to hear someone else say it.
How I'd put it is that It's about society and how violence and mentally ill justifications of it being acceptable to use against groups they deem worthy of death is shrouded in politics of the rich and unjustly in power.
We pay so many against our wishes (tax) to become mass murderers and wear patches, badges and uniforms to extort the image of what a nation always bolstering about "freedom" is actually like all summed into a single episode of "the Joker in music"
.. My take anyway.
Why was there no analysis for this? just I don't like violence..... aren't you a vocal coach lol.
I might be a vocal coach, but I am also a human with human experience :)
Mhm mhm but you didn't analyse his voice at all maybe do his song "drown" if the videos and subject matter are such a problem
It’s a music video, why does she look like she wants to cry the whole time?
It's not messy at all. It was before it was put into music for sure.
My advice next time listen/ watch the audio video rather than a video. You didn't really expand on what your video said it was going to do. Disappointed to say the least.
It's a brilliant track, with a strong and poignant message. Hats off to Beth for watching it even if it wasn't her cup of tea.
It is a sad reality that the softer people - and I don't mean that in a derogatory sense - are forced to deal with or have to try to shut out, the violence of this world.
Sadly the world works on a pendulum: it swings from too hard to too soft and back again (because mankind never learns from history, is never proactive and loves to knee-jerk overcompensate).
Strong men make good times.
Good times make weak men.
Weak men make hard times.
Hard times make strong men.
And so the cycle continues...
two things; first, thank you for respecting Kim's pronouns. so many people refuse to do so with them and another artist I love. second, thank you for actually understanding this song (but, that's kind of what you do. lol). in another reaction video I watched, they said that the song was about how as a celebrity, those people can get away with murder. that is most definitely not the case. you want a song about that, listen to AFI's "Beautiful Thieves". this song is about gaining "fame" for murdering people. how murderers are being treated like celebrities. and that makes me sick.
Kim's music definitely isn't for everyone, and while I didn't care for it at first, I am now obsessed. from nearly unknown Tik Toker with the second highest following as an Australian artist (coming in after Sia), to a force to be reckoned with. Kim is absolutely going places and has already made music with some well-known artists like Jonathan Davis of Korn.
Just listened to Beautiful Thieves because of this post, and came back to recommend "The Struggle" by Scroobius Pip for you. :)
@@boggers awesome! I'll check it out!

Why are you thanking her for using His correct pro nouns it’s not your place it’s not something that is really going to change the world people are too hung up on that stuff and the world is going down the drain while nobody seems to care because somebody called someone else obese or him or black. I love how Beth is so sensible, I am too, but sometimes violence needs to be simulated to send a message, it doen't mean he supports violence of course, it can actually be the other way around. I'm only now getting into Kim Dracula, just listened to the album and it's a masterpiece. Not everyone's cup of tea, but for that we have Pop 😂
He's so creative and multi-skilled if that's a word haha. Much respect!
No one loves a warrior until the enemy is at the gates.
Your reaction is priceless lol
We're all just animals. Highly evolved animals, yet animals at our core. I can appreciate our evolution yet at the same time have a disdain and disgust for how we still are overall. I question my life all the time and my decisions sometimes and self reflect and I think we all need to. We're highly evolved yet still resort to primal instincts at times.
I really enjoy Kim Dracula and the blending of genres in his music.
i love you Kim!!!♥
It's fun to see you react to this one. I recently discovered the artist myself. Thanks for posting.
Reminds me of the Horror movie Spree (MC tries to be a live streamer but doesnt get much views then he figured working as a driver and killing the passangers on livestream would get views)
this guy combines mike patton, marilyn manson and jonathan davis styles in one. for the time being it's somewhat crude but if he finds a way to combine them in a more organic way he has a very bright future. he's certainly very promising.
I loved this reaction! Vocally, the song is so impressive, and the message is both powerful and important.
(Also, I really appreciate that Beth used they/them pronouns to describe Kim. Most people tend to misgender them, unfortunately.)
right?! I'm seeing misgendering in these comments despite her use of they/them. and the same thing happens to another artist I love, Jazmin Bean. I got into a long, overdrawn argument with someone who refuses to use they/them and continuously uses she/her. yet that person also claims to respect Jazmin as a person. that's just not how it works.
@@CrimsonCrowess Repectfully,I ask... has kim made any mention of preferred pronouns? I discovered kim about 2 months ago and immediately fell in love. As a matter of fact I'm going to see kim tomorrow 9-16 in Charlotte. After hearing kim for the 1st time I've been on this full on binge of Kim's music and tictocs and haven't seen or heard any mention from kim on preferred pronouns. All I see in reference to it, is in the comments!! Genuinely curious!!
@@threesixesinarow8265 yes. Kim absolutely goes by they/them.
@@CrimsonCrowess when had kim ever said what Kim's preferred pronouns were? I've never seen or heard that! Genuinely curious!!
@@threesixesinarow8265 I don't have a video or anything showing them saying "my pronouns are they/them", but they do. so you can stop overusing their name, please. it's obnoxious. just use they/them as that is what they wish to be called.
John Wick hits me differently as a result of the things that I've been through. I respect that it's not for everyone though. The series have many different levels and interpretations. I can only speak to it from my personal perspective and life experiences. If it's not your jam I totally understand.
His music is basically the chaos of society in the 2020’s but methodically made
This is like Falling In Reverse on a lot of steroids 😂😂
I'm practically twice the age of the lead vocalist, and dig the band and message put forth. Of course, I also love GWAR, but these guys are alright 👍
ive been waiting for this for the longest time, still feel eerie about the video but yeah, this artist is great
Kim's style and writing is controversial because he's right. That's what makes it so good, on top of the incredible compositions and different styles of vocals and instrumentals he uses. He goes from metal screams and growls to Mongolian throat singing so seamlessly. He's very talented, and very good at writing truth in his lyrics.
Sadly we can never deny what violence roams around this world cuz it's shown everywhere but this was actually a person that just spoke by the tragedy that happend around that time in the US by the school shooting and how everyone just praise about killing the "bad ones" or how many good guys died. It's def a controversial thing to speak about but it sure does show how even higher ups or "lesser people" deal with things and still keeps them famous forever in our time lines just because they just wanted to spread a message which is a thing to never forget about what we can do or what others could do if not listend to.
Thought you were evaluating vocals, not messaging.
I can't help but get severe Joker and/or Marylin Manson vibes from this song. Violence literally just for the sake of violence and getting notoriety from the mayhem instead of the material gain. Side note, drac is also kinda attractive lmao.
Love Kim!!
poor woman. that was intense for me lol
the irony of this type of content is...while trying to deliver a message about ultra-violence in our society, it produces the most visually violent art. And it's the same with a lot of movies (i think about Funny Games for exemple). And i don't blame Kim, as i think it's really a great song !
....should be titled "vocal coach virtue signals then doesn't talk about vocals"
Should read "Vocal coach says nothing about the vocals of Kim Dracula - Make me Famous"
watch chris liepe's video on this song
Are you here to complain about the video or critique the singing?
Are you a vocal coach or a song / video analyser ? Because if I'm not wrong there is even not a short word about the vocal technics of the singer ...
Perfect song
Ugh, I can't work out if this is a parody or not. My expression was Beth's expression. I'm just gonna.. uh... head back to listening to NIN now.
I would love to see you react to the Brazilian singer Alcione
Lol, this is genius
The way I see it is the government establishment finds violence hilarious (clapping after a kid is shot) but freaks out when the violence is turned on them (freaking out at the end). And it's very sad how some people will hurt others just to be noticed because people are so busy with their own lives they ignore others who need help. We also see that the police and military are part of it
0:51 oh boy 😂😂😂😂
fame and infamy is two different things. sadly people get that confused. This will never lead to fame.. not the fame you think.
Ok so at no point is the vocal coach gonna react about anything vocal in the video, got it
I'm confused why ppl seem to hate the song so much? 😂 Just because it's random?
Ikr? I like the random aspect of it 😂
I think the video is a really tough watch. When I first saw it I sat in stunned silence afterwards not knowing whether to cry or rage at the fact nothing has changed when it comes to that level of violence. That's the point of the visuals and the topic of the song, but it's a difficult video to watch when you realise it's meant to be a mirror on the world we're in and not a "Joker"/"Batman" movie.
The song itself is also difficult because it skips around vocal styles and genres. I am a fan of Kim and I love how diverse their vocal range is and the jumps around (but I'm also a huge fan of Mr Bungle so it doesn't jar with me).
I reckon if Beth had been recommended to listen to this song without video or one of their other tracks without the same violence, she would have picked out the diversity in the vocals as she does in her other fabulous videos. I think the visuals were just too close to the horrors we hear in the news and I 100% respect that she sees this as art even though she looks so clearly uncomfortable. Watch some of her other videos looking at metal vocalists and you'll see she is one of the most open minded vocal reviewers who embraces a wide range of genres.
I'm not really devastated by much of anything, but I'd be lying if I didn't say this video hits much harder now, as weekly gun massacres here in the U.S. become the norm...and I keep getting inundated with either "guns don't kill people, etc..." or the "it wouldn't have been so bad if everyone had been armed" solution. Yep, that's where the heads of half of the U.S. is...my gun is more important than dead kids...
@@CatAndBearone ok but that's watching a video. how about listening to the song? OP wasn't talking about the video.
@@CrimsonCrowess I don't think Beth would have had the same issues with the track if it had been just the song itself with the dynamics in the vocals and the changes up in genre. I think it's the video rather than the song that has really polarised people because of how difficult a watch it is rather than the music itself. So while the OP is talking about people hating the song, my point is it isn't the song, it's the video that's where it's challenging rather than it's randomness.
Great reaction, I realize it was not your cup of tea. I saw this the minuet it dropped on RUclips. I knew nothing about Kim Dracula but after seeing this vid I was an instant fan. I like how it changes back and forth the vid IMO was done very well and the message really hit the mark. Living here in the US with mass shootings almost every day you realize the people doing it are basically the ones you remember, maybe not famous but infamous for sure. Check out some of his other stuff like Drown Pt 2 of this but I do not see it. I think Kim Dracula's Seventy Thorns Ft Jonathan Davis of Korn might be better for you to see next.
You can clearly hear the influences of Brotherhood of Man and Steps. I'll see myself out.
Well reviewed - especially considering that this is a topic you are not conformable with. It is indeed "art", and the message is indeed important. Personally I think it's a great track which shows a unique form of creativity and expression, though I totally get that it isn't everyone's cup of tea.
