With most popular casual dining chains like Olive Garden, Longhorn, and Applebee’s offering their own unique take on chocolate cake, we made stops at eight of the most recognizable restaurant chains nearest to us to determine which place is doing it BEST for our fellow chocoholics.
From long-standing fan favorites like Chili’s Molten Chocolate Cake to towering spectacles of richness and decadence like The Great Wall of Chocolate from PF Chang’s, we ate and ranked each chocolate cake according to our personal taste to create the ultimate guide on which chains’ chocolate cake cannot be skipped to complete your meal!

Q: How do you not gain weight?
A: Endurance sports (primarily running, cycling and some resistance training) and extreme discipline & sacrifice with our daily diets is how we manage not to gain weight. We eat mostly vegetables, fruits, some whole grains and low fat dairy on the days outside these videos. The calories consumed in a food challenge or mukbang are the only calories consumed that day and sometimes the day following as well seeing our appetites are typically shot from so much food and the thought of eating is very off-putting. Two days out we are back to large amounts of vegetables and increase to maintenance from there. We also often eat most of our days calories in a smaller eating window (we frequently bounce between intermittent fasting & OMAD diet as it just seems to work with our lifestyles and eating preferences). Anyone with a larger than normal stomach capacity like us, the drive to push through the discomfort of a challenge like this, and a basic understanding of energy balance (calories in vs calories out) can do it with enough disciple and intention (not that we recommend it).
Also worth mentioning is that we do not exercise to burn the calories consumed in a video but rather we are able to consume higher calorie diets due to our participation in endurance activities and said discipline with our daily diets.
Q: Can you make a “What I eat in a day” / fitness focused video?
A: While we’re sure that type of video will eventually make its way out there, this is not a health and fitness channel and we intend to primarily focus on indulgent food entertainment. We’re still in the very early stages of establishing ourselves within this genre and we’re constantly experimenting and trying to improve upon our style to make our channel a unique experience. Food is our passion while fitness is our discipline so, while we currently only have the availability to produce one quality piece of content a week, fun food-centered videos is where we’ll be focusing our attention (and trust us, it’s more fun for all of us this way). That’s not to say it will never happen, but it’s not a top priority for us.

The first time I had the Chocolate Stampede was in high school and it was without a doubt the best chocolate cake I've had from a large chain restuarant. It gives you everything you could want from a chocolate dessert but can be really heavy because of that.
Chocolate cake is one of my favorite foods. While watching, right before y'all said your reasoning for doing only chains, I thought about commenting that I appreciate it's chains because I can actually try the cake myself after, too! I like local things, but it's great to watch/eat a mix.

Chocolate fudge cakes weren't really a big thing in the UK for a LONG time. Our chocolate cakes are good but lighter, fluffier sponge and more buttercream than ganache, mousse and truffle. It seems to be slooowly changing to include these styles of options and I am DESPERATE to try a good one. Speaking as a dark chocolate fiend who is all about truffley, moussey, ganachey fillings and frostings with a tooth and palate as rich as Croesus ("too rich" does not exist for me), this video was simultaneous joy and jealousy.

Similar ideas for future ideas: 1) Trying various brands of a few flavors of ice cream you love with various brands of different whipped cream to compare 2) Multiple brands of brownie mixes to compare and review 3) Reviews on multiple different brands of ice cream cakes or cookie dough 4) Comparing various brands and flavors of cake frosting with graham crackers, cookies, etc to dip in

Yes, it is surprising that this wasn't a vanilla or white chocolate cake chain comparison. All that chocolate would be, as you said, RICH...I bet you stay clear of chocolate cake for a while...except that Longhorn one 😆😆 They sure looked delicious.

Totally going to try PF Chang’s Great Wall of Chocolate cake now! I don’t know if you’ve heard of the Claim Jumper restaurant, but they’ve got a Chocolate Motherlode Cake that is very similar to it, only BIGGER if you’d believe it! Lol! And with walnuts on the outside along with chocolate chips. I always get it a la mode too because it’s best that way! Love your videos, keep them coming. ❤

wow seriously TYSM for making this video. i wish i seen it sooner! i LOVE chocolate cake. The olive garden brownie lasagna was good but a bit too rich and fudgy for me. Was hard to finish but no worries I saved the rest for the next day lol. The 30th anniversary cake is my go to from cheesecake! The one from Chilis, here in Brazil is called Pettit Gateau. You can find it in lots of restaurants. They also serve it filled with dulce de leche. You have to try it.

For me. olive Garden and the volcano apple bees. But sad the prices are more expensive but the flavor r delicious. Yummy!

have you ever been to portillos? it's a fast food restaurant that is mostly in Illinois, a few neighboring states as well. But they are known for their signature chocolate cake, and their famous item the chocolate cake shake! I highly reccomend

All of our “practice” is just doing it weekly on the channel for a few years 😅 quite an obscure little shtick we somehow ended up with here lol!
In terms of indigestion, we have reeeeaally strong digestive systems, so we’re just a bit bloated the following day and just patiently wait for it to go down in a day or two. The food challenge days of trying to eat 2-4 times what we eat in videos now is really paying off I guess LOL!!

We haven’t done a real challenge in quite some time - this amount of food doesn’t phase us in terms of volume. We both are currently sitting around 10-11 pound capacities but are just enjoying making fun and informative videos rather than testing our limits. So, although it may seem crazy to the average person, we feel fine standing up after something like this 😅

all of cheesecake factory's menu items are huge including their desserts, which are big enough to comfortably feed at least 3 people (no one person should eat that solo) so from a sharing standpoint, it is definitely a bargain to buy any of their desserts
