wow this would me my dream japan and bike
whirlpools - The Gulf of Corryvreckan, about three hundred miles from your house:) looking forward to the next episode
And the Falls of Lora
Stellar video and your host looks to me like a JAPANESE ARNOLD 😎😎
Glad you enjoyed - lots more episodes available and coming!
I'm fairly short; can't touch both feet to the ground on a Tiger 900 Rally Pro. I could lose 10kg however to be less bulky and less Arnold!
The Kawasaki motorcycle factory is actually in Akashi, Hyogo which is near Kobe, Japan. I used to live down there and I would happily toot my horn as I rode by on my then bike, a 1986 Kawasaki GPX750R.
It’s touring videos like this one, that make me feel lucky to have found TheMissendenFlyer channel. 🍀
Aww Bradley......
Super! I love the side entry ferry, reminds me of Hull....
Zen flyers meet Peter Sellers....love the intro...looking forward to the series
Brilliant. Quite a change from Great Missenden!
You are dead right there!
Was a Nice surprise to see that Volvo estate!
That’s the funniest thing I have seen on the Tube for a while, Mrs Flier San losing it on the intro 😂😂😂
Mrs. Flyer is adorable. Cheers mate.
I agree!
I'm watching for 2nd time. Great editing. Can't wait for 2nd episode.
Awesome! Thank you! Episode 2 coming on Saturday!
Carol’s facial expressions are priceless and so funny. I reckon she could make a living as a comedian. Thank you TMF.
That would be good! I wouldn’t have to make so many RUclips videos then!!
we love japan, brought back some memories.. thanks for another great video..🙂
Japan has always had a fascination with me. Definitely on my bucket list. You are fortunate in many ways not least that you that you have a have loyal wife prepared get on bike with on these epic adventures. Fair play to Mrs Flyer. Hope we get to see some of Japan's fascinating quirks 🎉
Yes agreed - Mrs F is a keeper - 33 years and counting! ....and yes stay tuned, Japan is quite a quirky place....
My ex was from Osaka. I've been to Japan a couple of times and absolutely love it.
Greetings from Scotland!
This is looking to be a fantastic series of videos..
Already nearly fell off my chair laughing at you on the Japanese toilet 😂.
Have an absolute blast Mr and Mrs Flyer! Good luck on your latest adventure.👍
This will be very interesting and informative. Looks like fun so far.
Mrs H and I stayed in Tokio on our visit to the Moto GP at Motegi. We stayed in Tsukiji (Excellent fish market there) We also visited Shibuya. There is a very smart Ducati dealership there 😀. As you mentioned there is little crime and all the bikes parked at Motegi had jackets and helmets left on them. We took a trip to Mount Fuji too and came back on the Bullet train, Both breath-taking We loved Japan.
Glad to hear that!
There is a meeting of two oceans off the north coast of New Zealand - the very top - which causes lots of choppy waves and white water.
Exciting trip! Nice one
Regarding your "Whirlpools", it is just a tidal race. You can find these in several spots around the UK (E.G. "The Bitches" in Wales, Corryvrekan, Grey Dogs & Kyle Rhea in Scotland). Also in Norway and near Vancouver in Canada.
Errrr, yes possibly....
Yeh portnahaven off Islay too!
The Corry off Jura is the biggest in Europe.
I am one of the tour video dislikers. . . BUT . . . having not really seen much of Japan, I’m intrigued to follow this series. Well done Andy for doing something different!
I hope you enjoy it!
Looks like it will be a spectacular trip. Leaving all your gear on the bike and finding its still there when you come back is the way it should be.
Yes that is great!
Brilliant to wake up on a Saturday to this end of year tour treat from Team TMF… nice 🤗💪👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you - I'm glad you think that - lots more to come!
Terrific. I rode a GSX 400 throughout Japan in the 90’s eventually riding from the northernmost point to Kyushu’s southernmost cape: Soya to Sata. The Lonely Planet book was my guide and source of amazing information (including Youth Hostel addresses), and was inspired by Alan Booth’s Roads to Sata book. Fantastic country for riding motorcycles. I would say Kyushu felt most Japanese (temples, shrines, volcano, hot springs, castles) but Hokkaido was my favorite island. The joy of biking in Japan is that you can escape the crowds and get off the beaten track for often unusual and weird experiences.
I've always fancied going to Japan since reading Shogun some years ago. Me and my son love Japanese food. Looking forward to the series and its a great idea to show the tour every other video.
Hope you enjoy it!
Andy, there are at least two places this occurs in Scotland. Falls of Lora and off Easdale island. Well worth a visit.
My dream country to ride. I have visited Japan so many times but never riden there. Thank you TMF for sharing these amazing experiences.
Very much my pleasure!
Enjoyed that.. looking forward to the rest
Delighted to hear that!
What a great video, I’m really looking forward to seeing the rest.
Thanks a lot
Awesome, thank you!
Love love love this first Japan video really looking forward to the rest of the tour ,Japan looks amazing see you are on my favorite bike as well. This is just like an early Christmas present .
Glad to hear that!
This Looks Spectacular TMf! , looking forward to seeing more!
Glad you like it!
Excellent video TMF, very interesting. There's something about Japan that's so fascinating & appealing. Also imagine not having all your stuff nicked as soon as you turn your back here. Fat chance lol. Looking forward to the next episodes & I can see the logic of alternating them with other things. Hopefully it boosts the views as they deserve it.
Well tour videos typically don’t get great views but we’ll see how this one does. I think the videos I have in store for you are some of my best yet - hope you enjoy them!
Yes ..been here 25 years ..and I STILL worry about getting stuff knicked. But as my friend pointed out when we went to a bike race... Everyone had their jackets and helmets draped over their bikes .... Some of those helmets were expensive....,but they wouldn't be stolen. 25 years and I still can't get over it .....wallets get returned with money still inside....
Our family just got back from a 3 week tour of Japan on 12/1. It is an amazing country and people! One day I wanna go back and ride there with friends and hope to get a lot of tips on where to go and possibly use a touring group like UB Touring! Just a stunning place to visit! Have fun!
I really enjoy traveling in Japan. There's so many beautiful places to travel, the streets are clean and crime is rare. I'm looking forward to your video series.
Fabulous video Andy. I glad my speech was fluid in the bits you kept.
You’re a natural on camera Wes!
Many thanks, Wes. I'm sure your local knowledge ensured that Andy and Carol had an amazing adventure. Inspired choice to start in Shikoku.
No crime, that's unreal for us Brits must be an amazing life over there. Couldn't go without saying you're not on a Japanese bikes
Well spotted!
"Hey Kids" I love this 👍. Your such a good team together ❤
Andy and I got along really well. Coincidentally, Andy, Carole, my wife and I are all the same age.
....well technically I think you'll find I am the youngest....
Wow, what a fabulous holiday, Have fun both of you.
Great to hear from you mate!
Hello both.
Greetings from Tokyo. I follow your TMF channel for a long time already. Great work. I am European as well (from Germany) and live in Japan (Tokyo) for almost 9 years now. It's an amazing country. I fully agree on your comments about the beauty of this country. I am also a biker (BMW RNineT and R 18) and enjoy riding here a lot, mostly in the Kanagawa area and around Mt. Fuji. The streets are in perfect condition everywhere and riding in Japan is also much safer than in Europe because people respect each other much more. I hope to get some new ideas from your Japan tour for further future trips. Ride safe.
Hey great to hear from you - hope you enjoy the series!
The RNineT is such a smooth ride, and I love it. I near the Chuo-do Dangozaka service area. You probably zip by my home on weekend rides!
You guys get about. Japan is on my hit list 😉
Fantastic start to the series. Japan is the country highest on my bucket list to visit. Thanks for sharing 🤟🏽
My pleasure - stay tuned for more this coming Saturday!
Hi both, really enjoyed the first video in this series, and you may be amazed to know of a similar ocean rapids and whirlpools off the coast of St David's in Pembrokeshire, off Ramsey sound, called the bitches rapids caused by the meeting of the Irish sea waters and the St Georges channel, the mixing of the tides creates a mix of waves, rapids, eddies you can go on a inflatable rib boat ride with massive Mercury engines to overcome the current of the rapids. It really is a sight to behold. Thank you for the first amazing leg of the tour...
Great start , looks like a wonderful place to visit
It really is!
Really enjoyed the Japan tour are the amazing country. Well done to you both Mr and Mrs F😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video Andy, really looking forward to the rest of the series.
Lifetime bucket list stuff.. love the intro 😂 looking forward to seeing you both explore this wonderful country...
Cheers - looking forward to showing it to you!
Oh dear....so funny, brilliant.....and that's the first minute and 30 seconds....
Hope you enjoy the series!
Beautiful yet again, love riding in mountains, lochs, lakes never get tiered of hot springs. Amazing how much I didn’t know about and never thought to ask about Kaizzi’s😀
This video just made my day. I have always wanted ti to go to Japan, and if I can tour it on a motorbike, that would just be amazing. I will be watching every episode of this series.
I’m delighted to hear that! I hope you enjoy the series!
Would love to host you on a tour with a Triumph
Awesome country, enjoy yourselves. I'll be looking out for your next upload 👍🏼
Awesome! I lived 3 years just north of Shikoku in Okayama Prefecture, had couple trips down there! Beautiful area, really looking forward to this series!🙂
What a great video. Can't wait to see the rest of this series. Loved the Alaska one and this looks like it could be better.
Thanks for all your hard work Andy.
Our pleasure!
As always I appreciate you sharing your videos of your adventures. I was working out in Japan in 1984 and I could not believe people were leaving their home doors unlocked, car doors unlocked and keys in the ignition! It’s great to see that 40 years later that things have not changed much from the crime perspective. Personally, I prefer to watch your episodes consecutively, but I will be patient. I don’t envy you on the flight. I did that for many years and I don’t miss the long distance flying experience. Business and First Class did make it a lot easier, but now I’m retired, it’s steerage or sometimes Premium Economy if available. See you and Mrs. Flyer in Episode 2.
Yes we splashed out for premium economy which is well worth the extra…..long ol flight.
Great vid as usual but this one is a little extra special! I lived in Japan in my early 20's and it's where I learned to ride sportbikes properly. This was the era of the NC30, NSR250, RGV250 and other amazing bikes. The roads in Japan are amazing and glad to see you had a good time.
Oh wow! Sounds brill.....
Been waiting for this tour ,fantastic thank you for taking us places that some of us will never ride ❤
Hope you enjoy the series!
Brilliant, looking forward to the rest of the series 👍
Incredible!
The amount of work you must have put into these videos is mind boggling. Considering you're a one man band, you seem to have stepped up a gear or two. You have an amazing muse, in Japan, whose splendours you justify so well. As you may remember, I'm a big fan of your musical interludes but also, I now include your use of screen effects, fade outs and the like, which seem taken almost straight out of a manual on video production. I often pine to visit the places you tour but alas, to date, only Wales appears on that list. Whether its because its a new travelogue, the country you're in or the superb quality of the video, I can't wait for the following episodes (kinda wish these were one after another but I'm sure a second viewing will follow in quick succession). Thanks for lifting me from the doldrums of daily life.
Wow what a lovely comment thank you - new episodes appear every Saturday! Ep 2 is now up.....
I m definitely looking forward to the rest of the tour !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Delighted to hear that!
What a vid and full of so much natsukashi.Thank you, made a chilly warmer a bit warmer. Lived in western Tokyo (city called Machida) for 11 years and felt at home from the moment I arrived. Never had a bike in Japan sadly, the license for big bikes (over 400cc) is notoriously difficult and large capacity bikes were rare. Roads not far from Tokyo are epic and unmatched imo so one of the first things I did was get my Japanese license and buy myself a V5 STi RA.. Spent soooooo much time in the mountains in western Tokyo, round Mt Fuji and on the Izu peninsula - may have indulged in the odd bit of touge... The car scene is incredible and spent a great deal of time at Dailokufuto (Yokohama) with some mad folk with even madder cars. Couple of vids on my channel from my time there and still miss it to this day.
Oh, and really miss the toilets...
I’m still missing those toilets!
I spent 9 years riding around the Izu Peninsula area, Machidaman. Motorcycle heaven. And yeah, I can't live without a Washlet.
Nicely done TMF, look forward to next week.
Thank you Colin, glad you approve....this series just gets better I think too....
WOW, this series will be epic. I'm so lucky to have enjoyed a visit to Japan and one restaurant based memory always makes me smile, the waitress's were so pleased and impressed that I ate everything they served me!! Apparently that doesn't happen very often with westerners 🤣
....why am I not surprised at that....
Japan looks lovely. Interesting tour with you both looking forward to following 👍👍
More to come!
Really impressed by the honesty of Japan and everything looks so clean.
This is why l ride a Honda and love all Japanese bikes.
Great video Andy &Carol.
Thank you!
Great video look forward to the rest of this tour 👍
More to come!
Great Video! Looking forward to the rest of the series

Konnichiwa, Mr Andy-sama! This I have very much looked forward to. I will try to enjoy this as if I had been there myself.

Same thing happens in the Menai Straight North Wales, between the mainland and Anglesey.
Looking forward to the next instalment already fascinating tour
Coming soon!
I'm a huge fan of your Tour videos ( Canada, Italy, Wales etc ) so have been looking forward to seeing your Tour of Japan vids, you didn't disappoint , can't wait to see all the others .
I'm very pleased to hear that!
Japan is my dream holiday, and to do it on a bike is just better. I'll be watching these with huge jealousy, it looks amazing. I hope you have the best time mate.
Wow. What a trip. I was there this summer, and love Japan, and is already planning to go back again. Safe trip

This is exactly what I was looking for. I really wanna get a bike to Japan and ride through the whole thing, every island.
Finally a bit of me time so I can start watching this tour series. Thanks for sharing.....

神奈川県に居ますよ。いつか一緒にツーリングしましょう。
I have been looking forward to this tour Andy, thanks for sharing it with us 😀
My pleasure!
Fantastic trip! I'm looking forward to this!
On the subject of bridges and Eddy's, The Golden Gate bridge has them and they can get very dangerous for anyone silly enough to go near them. (For the same reasons)
I'd LOVE to go touring through Japan so this is going to be right up my street! Great stuff Andy & Carol!
Pleased to hear that! Hope you enjoy the series…
Fantastic, cannot wait for the next one, I will probably never tour Japan so to see it this way is a real privilege. Hope you are on the mend from your op and it was successful.
Thank you David - counting down the days until I can get back on the bike!
This is a bucket list item for me. Riding Japan - Props to Mrs Flyer for being a pillion. I wouldn't last 10 minutes!
Me neither!
The one I've been waiting for! I'm so glad i can live this experience through you. Thank you TMF!!
My pleasure!
I'm so excited your doing this. Riding in Japan is top on my bucket list trips.
Hope you enjoy the series!
Great video and I will be watching the rest of your tour 😊 I have visited Japan on a number of occasions for both work and holidays, but my next trip in March is a motorcycle tour. Your videos will I’m sure provide further useful ideas and tips 👍
What a unique place to tour,, a definite change to the euro trips. I’ll be glued to this, bravo
What a beautiful country. Another great riding video to watch during the dreary winter months of Canada.
Canada's never dreary!!
Ah brilliant! Been looking forward to this. Fascinating already. 👏💚
Really pleased to hear that!
A Volvo 245 going past after about 7 mins! Had one of them late 80’s
Not your normal Motorcycle Tour. .. I’m gonna love this series.
A once in a lifetime experience, I’m already hooked and looking forward to watching this over the festive Season. Thank you so much Mr & Mrs flyer.
Great to hear! Thanks for watching….
Hi Andy & Carol. Wow absolutely fantastic. How stunning is Japan
Hi Paul - glad you enjoyed it - loads more where this came from....stay tuned!
A great start to a series that I've been massively looking forward to 👍👍
Great to hear - stay tuned!
Awesome Andy, thank you and Mrs Flyer. I could have watched that all night. I was in Japan in March this year visiting my daughter and it was such a stunning place and the people are so wonderful. I can definitely see me keeping in touch with Japan in the future. Really looking forward to this tour series. Now I have to decide do I save them up and binge or watch each one as they come 🤣
Glad you enjoyed it
We need a video of only bloopers. I spilled my tea when the Mrs started laughing.
I don't recall enough incidents for Andy to create a blooper video. No bike drops, no tea spills, no tripping while walking through UNESCO World Heritage sites. I only recall one take where I couldn't recall the word "brackish" and asked Andy to cut that part. Andy said, "that part stays!" I'm looking forward to that episode.
My wife and I have the same photo of us with Mt Fuji in the background ! Our trip was put together by Japan Bike Rentals who preloaded our route onto a Satnav over 10 days so we were able to travel independently which was amazing.. Highlights were the Northern Japan Alps, Matsumoto, Takayama, Naraijuku which is an amazing old Postal town and Kyoto. Fantastic trip with some very interesting food!
Very cool!
Now this is a dream I didn’t know I had, very jealous - it looks amazing!
Dreams can come true!
Really going to enjoy this tour video as I was lucky enough to spend two weeks in Japan back in late Summer of 2001. Such a beautiful place.
It sure is!
Time for a refresh. Lots have changed in the past 23 years.
Great vid TMF’s looking forward to the series
Glad to hear that!
Excellent video TMF, Japan looks amazing
Thank you Garry, it is!
Really been looking forward to this. Love Japan, a very interesting country with very friendly and polite people, not usually on people’s holiday list but should be. Very brave man TMF even thinking about riding near Tokyo !
Why? The roads are very safe in Japan!
@@TheMissendenFlyerit’s more the thought of riding around the biggest city in the world and the Japanese signs.
