Thank you, this video really helped me. I changed the keyboard in my asus n550 and thanks to this detailed video I knew how to disassemble my laptop. I saw how to change the keyboard on another video with a similar model. Such a great video!!!!!
Do I see right? When you removed the copper heat sink/CPU & GPU heat sink, & you had it upside down, were there, on 4 places, a thermal pad? Could you determine the gap distance, & put a copper shim to help with heat transfer on those 4 spots? Thank you
Can the 2 fans be removed for cleaning without having to take out the whole motherboard, or heat pipes? Also, can appropriate sized copper shims be used where there are thermal pads? Thank you 🤓 I found (yes, found as a neighbor tossed it out!) An Asus N550xx series Laptop. But no bottom cover, no RAM, no HDD, no wifi card, half the keys are missing, one hinge, where it attaches to the screen housing, is broken (plastic), & the fans are clogged with dust! I plugged a charger into it, & an LED came on (front lights) so I think it still works! Also part of the screen frame is missing!
I saw you remove the fan pretty easily while my fan, especially the gray dotted plate is like glued to motherboard. I already remove all the screw. Can u help me?
Do you guys know where can I get the similar dual fan like this? I ran into a problem with my asus n550 laptop fan, which creates noise everytime it runs (it sounds brzzzz and my whole laptop vibrates with it). I did the test myself and i think the trouble is the fan runs out of oil, so i want to replace it (only 1 fan has problem, the one with logo on top). I just hope if you guys know where can i get a similar fan.
@@NotebookCenterTV Thanks what is that instrument you used to apply it? you didnt seem to use much. Also what materials for cleaning the old thermal paste?
You can upgrade your RAM for more MB or other type of RAM but you need to check the specs. With the GPU and CPU you dont because they are BGA (if i see).
Re my ASUS N550J; I have a problem with my monitor ghosting and turning pink, I've checked the laptop using an external monitor and it works fine. I read that I need to check the ribbon cable, I'm guessing it's connected to the monitor :) but I'm not sure what it looks like or where on the video it's in view (where on the timeline) Help would be appreciated, I'm nervous taking the back off.
Thanks for the info, I just need the courage to remove the back :) I recently dismantled a vaporiser after reading detailed instructions and I destroyed it, a few important details were left out of the disassembly instruction. Hence my caution. Again, thanks for taking the time. When you say the cable is "black cable with black connector few cm under the hinge, on the right side" is that from the perspective of the person in the video above?

Please, tell me which other video! I need to change my keyboard and I cannot find how to take it off!
Hi! What size of torx do you use to open the notebook?
The video would have been better with sound and explaining what each part was for, but thank you it is still informative
what is the precision of your screw driver. is it T5(Torx) of T10?
T5
What is the thickness of thermal pads?

Plss tell us how size of torx you use?
Hi! again it seems you don't have to remove the board to replace the thermal paste right?
Right, but it's not hard to remove it to make sure dust cleaned everywhere.
You forgot to clen the 2 fans and air intake the most important :$

How do we change the keyboard
Do you still have that laptop? Thank you 🤓
I saw you remove the fan pretty easily while my fan, especially the gray dotted plate is like glued to motherboard. I already remove all the screw. Can u help me?
thats weird, mine comes off pretty easily perhaps you should ask the person who had the laptopt before you

Do you have a computer chassis azus n550jk?

hi you have a damaged ball bearing, or the fan is missing some parts
а термопрокладки на чипах?
what is the normal temperatures of N550JV?
mine laptop goes from 40C to 50C when "doing nothing" and goes around up to 60C when doing tasks
I changed the thermal paste at the time, so I were concerned 😂
thanks so much!
I don't play videogames at all... Within normal use, the temperatures go from 38 to 42°c for the intel 4600, and from 35 to 39°c for the gt750m
What kind of paste did you use and that instrument what is it?
There is a wide selection of different paste. Most of them work quite well. Nowadays we would prefer ARCTIC MX-4.

Sorry, we don't sell any parts
How does one take off the keyboard for replacement since it has those kind of "plastic nits" holding it to the top?
When we have to change a keyboard, we remove these plastic nits, it's only one way to do so.
Thank you for the reply!
you can also change complete palmrest assembly
It is necessary
to disassemble everything to remove the motherboard, it is not enough to
remove the heat sink and change the thermal paste?
hello, did you find a solution ? i have the same question
Same question
Yeah...of course....you dont need the part from the motherboard....just remove the sink..
Hii, Could you tell me which thermal paste you have used?
white basic paste, worst i would use...you should prefer gray paste, or silver/gold, any brand, but not no name white paste !
Where is CMOS battery?
i have the same laptop so i opened it and i saw my fans are super dirty can i still clean them without taking out the motherboard?
sure
hi how can I disconnect the keyboard from the motherboard? My keyboard is not working properly, 5, 0, p, is always pressing
open the back and disconnect the keyboard flex ribbon (large one under battery)
Does Asus N550 have a slot for ssd m.2?
no
hi, which screw drivers are required while disassemblying this notebook. thanks in advance
Hey, ph00 should fit. But it's always better to have a set of screwdrivers.
The bottom plate needs a T5 torx driver

@@freejack84 exact. But what would make it really faster, is to ass an SSD, and clean fans/paste

good video, reassembling it would have been nice, but I managed
