Bro. That was a good information. But the car and installation needs a golden grammy award for most outstanding by stander That mustangs in deep depression. Cable wires holding radiator hoses and shit together. Instrument cluster has even said good by to the car.Bro keep that water gauge installed its the only thing keeping the mustang,s heart beating :)
Yes pretty shoddy work. Also do not use a ratchet and socket to tighten hose clamps. They are just to compress down the rubber hose properly, not to excessively clamp down. You can see the clamps and the hose were distorting from the excessive tightening. As long as the clamp isn't broke doing this it will work but it is not proper and may end up badly.
Yea a rubber hose doesn't exactly count as grounding run ground from engine to sensor or just skip the stupid bolt on the housing and ground it to chassis
Good video how has it run is it accurate I saw this gauge on amazon and I said let se if I can find a video of the gauge and your video came up trying to put this in a 1995 Dodge Ram because the gauge on the truck stays on the middle of 210 and 260 with a/c on so I don’t know if the gauge on the truck Is not working or the truck is over heating but for redundancy I will buy this gauge what the aluminum connection so due a update of how is working
That is because you want to know how "hot" your engine is running. Not how much your radiator is cooling the water. So The cauge will tell your real engine temp, not your cooled water temp.
most of the time its because of the problems that happen if the water gets too hot. As you can imagine, if the water boils (100.C) thats trouble for your car, whereas your engine reaching 100.C isnt that bad. Thats my take on it, Im not a mechanic
Thank you this is the video i needed the reason i was not getring a signal is because o forgot to ground the blue adapter thing, i will go try this now !
Fit the two jubilee clips with a one mill gap, cut there for a neat cut, that cut is the worst I've seen, "on any vehicle" he says. . . .but not mine LOL
@@DriftDreams242 Another mistake. If you don't actually want an accurate temp then you can do that but you want to view the hot coolant temp that is coming out of the engine and that is through the top hose. You are viewing the temp of the coolant that is going into the engine which gives you no idea what temp the engine itself is running at. Either find a way to run a sender on the block or intake or just make the installation look a little nicer.
Wow! I never thought of this. This solves my dilemma on where to install a sensor on my Tacoma

The adapter is sized by the diameter of the lip, so it's ok to go for one size up.. meaning SN95 uses 38mm hose so 40mm adapter can be selected..
On my truck the end to the radiator is 32 and the end to the engine is 38, so I ordered a 36 to put in the middle as it gets wider lol
So Is it better to install it to the bottom hose to get accurate temperature?
Didn't even put the links in the description good job👍🏼
@@DriftDreams242 really helps man tnx
AWESOME.... LOVE THE RED WIRE HOLDING THE HOSE...LOL MOPAR 4 EVER.
Great video, man. Thanks!
Excellent video despite the distracting background "music."
Going from the motor and not to the motor. Good call
I have toyota yaris 2019 , what the size of the coupling ? Please answer and thank you 🙏
Awesome connections!🙏🤣
Very neat and professional lol
omgawd. That's the sketchiest temp install I have EVER seen lol

Temp install? This how my permanent install looks 😂😂

Look at the rest of the engine bay think he cares ahaha
It does. Look shoddy a gauge should. Be. Mounted in the dash. Panel or a pedestal cup
@DriftDreams 242 just installed mine, I'm getting the 104 reading too. Did you ever find out what was wrong?
So if your water temp gets hot! Do you stop! And put Ice to cool it down!
that white jdm CRV though
May work, but will not show engine temp until thermostat starts to open, flowing coolant past sensor.
Is a temp switch the same as a temp sender?
Please explain how you get ground from that spot. Super confused 😕
That's hooked between 2 hoses. Not the body of the car lol
Yea a rubber hose doesn't exactly count as grounding run ground from engine to sensor or just skip the stupid bolt on the housing and ground it to chassis
@@chrisalvarez9442 he hooked a wire from the screw bolt and then a bolt on top of the alternator bolt for his ground point.
@@offroaddemon1991 No, you can't. That ground terminal on the hose coupling is to give the temp sensor a ground reference since that's how it works.
thank you!

Why would you want the temp coming from the engine vs what the radiator is putting out? The engine temp will always be higher. Im curious to learn.

Your mustang has a “low in the back” attitude. I think the rear springs are shot.
Is this guage totally mechanical? Even though its digital reading.
Great content brother!
good vid bro. but is there a way to calibrate the sensor? why it started out with such high temp reading? car was hot?
My guess its in Fahrenheit not Celsius.

Did it fix it
You didn’t start the car to show how accurate the gauge works
So you don't have to Teflon tape the temp sensor before installing?
With Any liquid moving thru except fuel I say better to have it when you don’t need it rather not have it when you need it
How did you get the red wire into the 12 V fuse?
They have fuse jumpers. I’d always go for that route before trying to jam copper under the fuse.

What is the normal engine temperature?.. Thanks
195-220 Fahrenheit
oof my eyes and poor mustang when it catches fire
Oh that poor mustang🤦♂️
😮❤
Got that Trinidad accent lol
Isn't 104 an error code?
104 is the temperature of the water at that moment (engine cold)
U sounding like a Trinidadian 🇹🇹
Tnx bro
What is exactly the function of this kind of thermostat?
im installing one to make sure my car doesnt overheat. the normal thermostats on cars aka dummy gauges don't warn you till its too late
How the hell is that a ground?
The coolant is conductive and does run through the block.🤷♂️🤷♂️
