I have a task suggestion Ask someone what there task was from last session and then do it, if it’s not doable then re-role for a harder task! If a yellow wants to guess your task they have to guess the words in this book!
I really just said it had to be in an inventory because I didn’t want people to disregard it or destroy it whether accidental or intentional, and I wanted the viewer to be able to tell who had it at any given time. The way you used the dispenser was totally fine in my eyes as you never really left it alone or left it to despawn.
Having watched the rest of the video... I personally, I think the dispenser trap was a perfectly valid tactic. I'm interpreting "player's inventory at all time" as intending to mean, you can't put it in a chest somewhere and say 'well it's not in my inventory. jobs done,' because the task 'remembers' the inventory it was most recently in. Using a dispenser to give it to someone is in my humble and unimportant opinion, the same as throwing it on the ground to be picked up but with extra steps.
That English and Australian sarcasm exchange when Joel was doing his tutorial was everything 😂 I need to watch his after this to know what his task was
The reason the XP isnt instant and requires walking away is because of the position of the zombies, unlike most normal mob farms where you attack at their feet over here there is just a single block separation, the only reason you could get XP from it in the first place is because the block in question is a stair, allowing the XP to clip through it once you get a bit further away as it wants to reach a player, getting a bit funky in the process due to its distance and the fact stairs are and arent full blocks (they're full blocks in code but their model still lets entities go inside the "hollow" part of the block, in this case the XP clips through the top part of the stairs (which is upside down here) which isnt a full block length), even then you arent getting ALL of the xp, making this insanely inefficient. good job Joel!
Task ideas: -Sneak into 3 peoples bases and organize everything in their containers. If you get caught by the base owner, that base won't count. -Alternate between yes and no every time you're asked a yes-or-no question. You must say the opposite of what you said from the last yes-or-no question. -Press f3+G. You are not allowed to leave the chunk you are currently in. You ONLY fail if you leave the chunk. You succeed when the session is over. You may tell others your task if you wish. Yellows finding out your task will not cause you to fail but they may try to push you out of the chunk.
Okay, Joel trying to teach Pearl ANYTHING about Minecraft that she doesn't already know is so f'ing funny. 🤣 Those 2 have almost identical skill sets aside from Joel's skills with traps...and those he largely learned from Lizzy.

this is the absolute best life series. I seriously spend every week waiting for Friday just to watch these. Sleepy Pearl is very funny, I love watching her
I interpreted the rule of "must be kept in a player's inventory at all time" as a countermeasure to just leaving the book in a chest somewhere. Putting it in a dispenser trap and waiting there until someone falls for it seems to be comparable to just throwing the book at someone and waiting for them to pick it up.
@@imdadirtydan By following the exact wording, that's correct. But I think it's more important to gauge intention from the wording. The rule was created to prevent the book from being left behind. So not leaving it behind while it's in a different storage than your inventory should be fine.
@@JcrafterGames if it were just a normal task that didn’t involve competing with other people and trying to screw them over, I’d say be generous and give it, but breaking the rules and then other people not taking those “liberties” about the “spirit of the challenge” makes it feel unfair. i think she was just talking about sonam, the life series server admin? "hall monitors" are the people in the audience who always get really upset about RULE BREAKING and complain that one of the players is cheating or should be punished or whatever; scar started calling them that a while ago, I think in a past series, and it caught on with the other players
I think "must be kept in a players inventory at all times" means, don't put it into a chest, you can't put the book in someone elses inventory without throwing it on the ground or putting it in dropper or something
Task Idea: Pretend to be scared of another player, If someone mentions them scream, Run the other way when you see them. Your task would've been impossible if taken as-written since there's no way to transfer items directly into another player's inventory from your own; you must drop it or transfer it to a container. @@PrinceOlafI agree, that's what I think the person who suggested it had in mind. I'm just saying it for those who will argue she would have failed over the wording. In the end it should be what brings the best content and fun in the video
@@0hgan647 it's also why it was ruled during the break that the redstone idea was successful. However, I feel that she should have not said anything when she gave it to someone; that kind of just ruined the suspense.
I really love how no yellows even bothered trying to guess Mumbo's task, while he was going around being oh so obvious with the way he spoke about it to anyone who was around
Taks idea (potentially hard task): sneak the entire way across the map, barrier to opposite barrier, without being called out. Being called out 3 times means you have failed the task.
Honestly, the hardest part of this task is making the potion lol. They'd need to go to the nether and get blaze rods, then find stuff to brew a potion. Unless you just rename an invisibility potion you get from the rewards, which would be boring.
TASK IDEA: You are a Disney princess. Every time you are close to an animal you must sing a song (at least 2 lines). If there are more than one animals in the area you must add 2 lines. The lines of the song cap at 10 regardless of the amount of animals near you.
Pearl! I’m so glad you got my task! I always watch your pov first. Sorry it was so long, but I think the changes from the original idea were great. Originally written I said the player you pass it to has to be willing to take it, but I think with how much y’all talked about it that would have made it impossible, and because of that change I say the dispenser move is fine and wasn’t something I really considered so props for thinking on your feet. I also said that whoever had it at the end would fail their task for the episode, but I think having to re-roll makes much more sense and was a super worthwhile change, and it makes me feel less bad, even though I still feel like I need to apologize to Etho.
@@pronpalunpoI would argue that this isn't hard. As you only need to lie, no risk, no extra catch, and in this series ppl do tend to do weird things. The only possible risk is the person you talked to also talks to a yellow and they figure it out.
@@onionrangerduck7024 It’s hard to lie in a way that they figure out what your task is without you revealing it five times in a row, especially when some “obvious” tasks have already been faked. Maybe 3 would be fine
Loved this episode from riding the danger camel with Scar to fortifying the Mounders' base to getting silly help from Joel to a tower-building competition and so much more! And not to mention the chaotic Hot Potato task shenanigans! Wow! 🤯 However, with Mumbo losing a life, the lack of diamond armor, Bdubs getting closer with The Roomies, and Pearl's task harming ties from literally every alliance besides the Mounders, I'm really worried for the Mounders' chances of winning! So if Pearl ever reads this essay of advice, I hope this helps: 1️⃣: PLEASE *Armour Up.* Mining may be mundane, but it's very worth it! If you need to, get help Gem And The Scotts, fellow Mounders, The Heart Foundation, Scar, whoever. Iron Mounders=Dead Mounders. 2️⃣: Try to *Make Amends with The Roomies,* who were the most harmed from your Hot Potato task. If not and Etho & Grian are still salty, then *Gem And The Scotts* are actually the best allies for the Mounders, funny enough. Every season is a numbers game, even with the added layer of secret tasks. 3️⃣: Convince Joel to speak with *Lizzie* about *not targeting the Mounders.* Joel is the only one who came to her party, after all, and he's part of the Mounders. Also Lizzie's house is close to the Mounders so... ⚠️ 4️⃣: *Recruit* Lizzie or Jimmy into weapons for The Mounder to attack other alliances (preferably the Heart Foundation or The Roomies). Martin already pledged to the Heart Foundation, after all. 5️⃣: *Gift* a heart to one of the Mounders. You're right--it's better to just keep your alliance members alive. 6️⃣: *Misdirect* Yellows like Gem and soon Skizzly by collabing with the Mounders about making a fake task. Not as important though since most of the Yellows atm are in the Mounders lol. Bonus 7️⃣: The Heart Foundation is doomed to fall by its very nature. As much as their bit is great and wholesome, keep in mind that every heart counts, and they are handing it out to other alliances inconsistently. Not good. Wish you all the luck in the world, Pearl! 😊
Task Idea : Don't mute for the entire session. Yellow Task Idea : Successfully spy on 5 people and call out atleast one of them of their task correctly. Red Task Idea : 'Accidentally' push someone off a cliff without punching. They must take atleast 5 hearts of damage.
Task idea: for the first part of the session, find [player name] and keep them in your sights until the break. After the break, you have two minutes to get out of their sight and stay out of it for the rest of the session
Big brain ideas: 1. You have to say bruh at random intervals the whole session. 2. You have to find out 3 peoples favorite games and tell them to other people. 3. You can see other peoples tasks, but you have to help them complete it. 4. You have to sniff 5 people without context, and then leave without saying anything. 5. You can’t eat cooked food the entire session. 6. Get rid of all the torches in 3 peoples houses, without being called out. 7. Wear leather armor the entire session. 8. Convince someone else to wear a helmet. 9. Protect a cow the entire session. 10. Talk in an accent that isn’t yours. 11. You aren’t allowed to talk to certain people the entire session, you have to stay quiet if you meet them. 12. Convince 3 people to give you their hearts. If you don’t get enough, you fail. 13. Convince someone else to spin a hard task. 14. Steal a random block from everyone’s base, without being caught. You can replace the block with a different one, but you can’t be called out. You succeed once you get all the blocks.
Task Idea: You must stay in a light source. If you enter darkness, you will start to enter into a panic state and start to hallucinate unimaginable horrors.
Task: wait didn't we do this already? Your task is to do a task that's already been successfully completed in one of the previous sessions. Yellows have to guess this task rather than the new one to fail you. You cannot choose a task that was completed within the first ten minutes of its session
Task Idea: You are now a vampire. You MUST stay under shelter and away from direct sunlight. Hollow/transparent blocks like glass, leaves and some trapdoors DON'T count as shelter.
@@ChronostraI was thinking that too, but knowing these people, they will try to still have contact with other players. Would be fun to see how this would work out.😅
Task idea: give a gift to 5 players and have them be grateful/thank you for it. If they call you out you say they are ungrateful. They no longer count towards the 5
The quest would be so much better if you could not drop it on the ground so anyone who had it needed to build a trap of some sort like the one in the start of the video. Being able to target anyone would be better so pearl wouldn't constantly run away. Would be more interesting if you couldn't return it so it need to be given to someone else before it gets back to the original owner so anyone would be suspicious.
@@_term1576 yeah, it was a good quest. but most of it ended with Pearl just running and hiding. It became more of a tag game instead which i would be totally fine with if that was the quest.
task idea: convince all yellows that you already handed in your task. if they ask what your task was then make up a completely different task everytime.
task idea: you really believe you’re a werewolf. every night, you must panic and hide from everyone until morning. if you bump into anyone during the night, act anxious and run away or have them leave. failure to commit to the bit results in failing the task. have fun!
Before you mention the dispenser in the comments, please watch the rest of the video. ❤

Task Suggestion: Teach a good redstoner about basic redstone, act like they're your apprentice for a while
Considering that Tango’s refusing to do redstone this series, he’s probably a good target (and he’d probably be willing to play along too).
The fact that pearl is telling them to check their inventories is self griefing lol
you mean griefing? yeah lol, even grian said she didn't have to..
@@jeremiahIuke imagine she just left it with someone and they didn’t notice for the whole session lol
Yea idk why but it felt annoying tbh
I think it was more entertaining that she let the others know that they now have the hot potato. Made for some good interactions and chase scenes.
I like how Pearl both tells everyone to check the book before leaving but also takes full advantage of mumbo’s goodwill towards her.
Scar is gonna be in the out of context with that humb line
As is that entire tower. 🤣🤣🤣
Scar is going to be the majority of the Out of Context video anyway.
Taks idea (potentially hard task): sneak the entire way across the map, barrier to opposite barrier, without being called out. Being called out 3 times means you have failed the task.
oooh, I like this one!
The fact that ethos task was acting like a weeping angel made this even better
Task: You are a Therapist this session. Offer empathetic advice or words of encouragement to three different players.
Skizz would never get called out for it.
@@theleftfootedsultantrueeeee
Grian nearly falls to his death, and lizzies only response was "you're very eager to party🎉" loved that
I like how Mumbo tried to kick out Joel for being yellow and now look, 😂 karma really does exist
Easy task: Give a creatively renamed potion to a player and persuade them to drink it.
Honestly, the hardest part of this task is making the potion lol. They'd need to go to the nether and get blaze rods, then find stuff to brew a potion. Unless you just rename an invisibility potion you get from the rewards, which would be boring.
@@decomposedcorpse5186 Not if they rename it as a potion of slow falling and trick them into jumping off something
@@cuckoobrain7999 Not so sure how happy the recipient of that would be. Might as well just make the task "kill a player"
Task idea!
You cannot say the words “Yes” and “No” for the entire session. You can use different words such as yeah, sure, ok, nope, nah and uh uh
44:43
You should have asked Etho if it made him jump. XD
43:52 - Tango's instant transformation into a screaming grasshopper xd
Task idea: Give everyone the same task.
Doesn't matter what it is, just give it to everyone.
I mean... the last episode ;)
This season is making everyone weird lol, this was very chaotic
TASK IDEA:
You are a Disney princess. Every time you are close to an animal you must sing a song (at least 2 lines). If there are more than one animals in the area you must add 2 lines. The lines of the song cap at 10 regardless of the amount of animals near you.
46:55 Cleo and pearls sighs matchup perfect and its so satisfying
mumbo's quick dispensing of redstone like he's a redstone dispenser got me in stiches xD
Task: You are a Bard. Perform personalized songs about two players.
Secret task idea: Add another mound to The Mounders' area. Pretend you have always lived there.
Task: Any weird things BigB comes up with is your task.
YES YES YES
Task: Go 15 minutes of the session without saying the letter “e”. If you get called out, you have to begin the timer again.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
THAT IS SO HARD
THATS SUCH A GOOD ONE OMG
so you want them to shut up for 15min
We need this task
Probably the funniest episode of the Life Series so far, I haven't laughed so hard in a while
Etho’s behavior makes a lot more sense when you know what his task is
Task idea: Convince 5 different people you've succeeded 5 different tasks
Edit: The success stories must be detailed
This is one of the best task ideas I've seen 😂
Hard
@@pronpalunpoI would argue that this isn't hard. As you only need to lie, no risk, no extra catch, and in this series ppl do tend to do weird things.
The only possible risk is the person you talked to also talks to a yellow and they figure it out.
@@onionrangerduck7024 It’s hard to lie in a way that they figure out what your task is without you revealing it five times in a row, especially when some “obvious” tasks have already been faked. Maybe 3 would be fine
Elobarate lies & hope they don't talk about it to others, that suuure sounds easy.
Secret Idea: Burst into song 3 times with 3 different people at the worst times.
I love this one ☝️
Loved this episode from riding the danger camel with Scar to fortifying the Mounders' base to getting silly help from Joel to a tower-building competition and so much more! And not to mention the chaotic Hot Potato task shenanigans! Wow! 🤯
However, with Mumbo losing a life, the lack of diamond armor, Bdubs getting closer with The Roomies, and Pearl's task harming ties from literally every alliance besides the Mounders, I'm really worried for the Mounders' chances of winning! So if Pearl ever reads this essay of advice, I hope this helps:
1️⃣: PLEASE *Armour Up.* Mining may be mundane, but it's very worth it!
4️⃣: *Recruit* Lizzie or Jimmy into weapons for The Mounder to attack other alliances (preferably the Heart Foundation or The Roomies).
This was one of the best tasks and the PERFECT task for Pearl's pure chaotic energy.
Task: convince someone you failed and take them to the secret keeper within 5 minute of getting the task
what do you mean by "make them to the secret keeper"? how are you gonna turn someone into the secret keeper???
Grian got a task last episode that was basically this. He needed a yellow name to guess that his task was singing everything.
Does anyone else think the "Surprise! You chop a tree and you get a Pearl out of it." was just adorable?
pearl telling people was way worse than the dispenser shenanigens! too nice to let them discover it as a surprise :P
Big brain ideas:
That’s pretty easy😅
Task: wait didn't we do this already? Your task is to do a task that's already been successfully completed in one of the previous sessions. Yellows have to guess this task rather than the new one to fail you.
You cannot choose a task that was completed within the first ten minutes of its session
Task Idea: You are now a vampire. You MUST stay under shelter and away from direct sunlight. Hollow/transparent blocks like glass, leaves and some trapdoors DON'T count as shelter.
Including shelter at night?
@@mackenziedrakedirect sunlight
So you want an episode of just underground mining?
@@ChronostraI was thinking that too, but knowing these people, they will try to still have contact with other players. Would be fun to see how this would work out.😅
Task idea: give a gift to 5 players and have them be grateful/thank you for it. If they call you out you say they are ungrateful. They no longer count towards the 5
thats too easy, people on this server are too nice
@@pumpkin_pants3828 You haven't been paying attention to the paranoia, have you?
You can't give more than one gift lol
Ngl this is the first smp i watched who isnt obsessed with keeping the dragon egg for themselves
As originally written I never said it had to be given back to the original task holder. That was a change the task master made
@@_term1576 yeah, it was a good quest. but most of it ended with Pearl just running and hiding. It became more of a tag game instead which i would be totally fine with if that was the quest.
task idea: convince all yellows that you already handed in your task. if they ask what your task was then make up a completely different task everytime.
hard task idea: You can only go up. If you go up a block, you must stay on that y level.
This is a good, and evil one 😂
That’s a good one, what about a no jumping one meaning to go up one must use slabs or stairs
That's a good one
It might be good to add a buffer before the task takes effect because the secret keeper is on an evevated area.
@@flint9759 oh yeah thats true, you also cant build in the area so you would basically be forced to stay there
The hot potato task might be my favourite yet
task idea: you really believe you’re a werewolf. every night, you must panic and hide from everyone until morning. if you bump into anyone during the night, act anxious and run away or have them leave. failure to commit to the bit results in failing the task. have fun!
The shouting match from the top of the tower had me dying 😂 I'm sure the tower has a GREAT personality
Scar out of context is just the best. Even in context the stuff he says is just perfect.
