It is an outdoor sport, wind and even water temperature has a big effect on times. Some days they go 3:45, then the wind blows like a bastard and they can be almost a minute slower. The thing you must understand is the 3:45 is always a product of perfect conditions. So until we build indoor race courses this is our reality.
