  • Hey everyone, welcome back to Daily Downshift! Today we have a fun DIY for you. We are installing the carbon fiber engine cover that we received from AGM. This is a full detail walk through of how to remove the factory engine cover and how to install the carbon fiber replacement. We found the install to be very straightforward and we are extremely pleased with the look of the engine bay. If you are looking to spice up your Corvette C8, then we would highly recommend AGMotorsports! We hope you enjoy our video!

    Now that it's finally installed what do you think of the carbon fiber engine cover?

    Great video. You are absolutely right about other engine cover install videos not clearly explaining how to release the clip. Nice job. I have an Edge Red Cover waiting for its engine!
    Hope to see the same level of detail in your side rocker installation video.

    Thank you for explaining the clip at the back. Other videos skip over it probably because they snapped the damn thing and bought another one at the dealership lol

    From one content creator to another keep up the amazing/hard work! I'm on the list and have specked out my 2021 C8 (Rapid blue) with the dealership and wanted to say thank you for the shared information (AGM C8 products). Because of your content I've already called AGM and will be placing orders for my C8 very soon. Looking forward to the next upload, cheers..........

    Thank you, I just ordered a polished rapid blue + carbon flash engine cover to replace that one. Glad to see how easy it is.

    I love the cover, I would have looked into adding the foam insert, just for heat purposes. Also I take it the Corvette name wasn't able to be removed, that to would be cool. Just my .02. Great work.

    I see my HTC didn't have the special latch on the top back of the cover...I used a tie wrap to support the plumbing that would have gone through that latch. Thanks for the video...all the same work as your coupe, but the rear is a little tighter fit on the HTC.👍

    GREAT video guys! You mentioned that the bolts are 10mm - what is the rest of the description for them? (I need 4 for my HTC which comes w/out a cover). TIA!

    Not a fan of that one ! I like the factory red option far better, it matches the valve covers and puts some color in the engine bay. If you add lots more carbon fiber that one may start looking better to me.

    I see that your carbon fiber engine cover does not have the Corvette crosses flags logo. It would look even better on a car with the appearance package.

    • @DailyDownshift
      @DailyDownshift  4 года назад

      Yup, with the engine appearance package this would look amazing.

    I like the carbon fiber, I guess its just me and not that it matters It would have been nice to have it say Corvette on the cover in the stock locations with the crossed flags at the top. But it still looks pretty sweet!

    What about getting or painting the engine cover ? Maybe a shiny type orange color?
    Another thing, you can also switch out that front clip with a cool color zip tie. In case it would've cracked on you. Or switch it anyway? It my look cool if u get an orange zip tie

    • @DailyDownshift
      @DailyDownshift  4 года назад +1

      There's red in the engine bay already, so we think it clashes too much. The orange clip ain't a bad idea though!

    GM in the States doesn't sell the clip alone you have to buy the whole hose assembly.

    You need to add the aluminum corvette pieces to the cover to finish it off.

    the factory cover contains an insulation barrier diminishing noise and exhaust heat transfer into the intake charge. Spending $700 for a replacement that copies the factory shape is dumb. Why not a cover that resembles an actual engine of some sort??
