The pipeline is constantly changing, constantly. What you should expect is long days, long nights, cold weather and hunger. Be in shape both physically and most of all, mentally.
Enlisting for SIX YEARS for a shot at SF? Knowing the failure/drop rate is very high...I feel it is a bit of the 'old bait and switch trick by the Army. Your buddies that failed selection that are now cooks, what is their opinion? Nothing against cooks and nothing against those who attempted a very very difficult career path (SF). Read "Chosen Soldier" by Dick Couch. He describes the process and follows several SF candidates.
@@The85F0X yeah it's crazy. Last I heard they where making guys 11B again, but in 2017 you talk to anyone who was an 18x non-select or drop they all got reclassed.
Could you make a video explaining the process of joining as an 11x: How long each course is, the different courses, their difficulty and the minimum phisical standards?
So could these changes apply to someone on the original 18x program and then switch on them while they are in basic? Or will the contract itself say you will serve 2 years up front?
Until you enter the pipeline, meaning you actually finish selection, there is not a set way of how it will run for you. When I went through it changed several times.
Hey Jonathan are you able to retry again for SFAS since getting out of the pipleine as 18x? And would anybody kinda look at you funny in the Regiment for leaving for SFAS?
Not at all. There are a ton of 18x in Regiment. Yeah I can go back, it's actually a pretty popular option for guys to spend a few years in Regiment before going to selection.
Question: I’ve been wanting to join the army with an 18x contract, but I’m the only male son in my family. Do you have any idea if that will affect my chances of just being able to join or tryout for army special forces in general?
If I understand your question you are asking if not having any brother will affect your enlistment? If that's the case no, that has nothing to do with joining the army or being able to pick up an 18x contract.
Jonathan Shelton I’m the only male son in my who family that carries my last name. I’m asking because a recruiter had told me that it might affect me wanting to or being able to join/try for special forces. But I wanted to get more insight on it since he didn’t seem very convincing
@@cabinetblue2085 I honestly have never heard of such a thing, as far as I am aware it's not even a question they would ask you do I wouldn't be worried about it.
Did that recruiter tell you when they're looking to start those changes? Also, what MOS were you reclassed to when you were dropped from SFAS if you don't mind me asking?

How did it go?

It was five (did I say six?) But yes, the whole contract is a big risk. But then so is most Spec ops initial entry contracts
I have never heard of anyone becoming a cook. You are at a default of 11b and airborne qualified.

any updates a year later?
@Jonathan Shelton do you know if these changes apply to the current times?
Where these changes input?

No, when you sign a contract they should have to honor that contract.

What...the fuck...
I just signed my contract😐
Did you got selected?
What is your current MOS?
Aren't you a selection dropout ?
Yup, I have a video explaining it if you wanna know the story.
Do you have a Instagram or any other social media
No. Lol
@@JohnS677 good
@@MaceGaming53 why good?
Do you have to stay in regular Army for a certain period of time before you try for selection?
As of now no, not that I'm aware of.
If you want to do Special Forces as an enlisted, you have to be at-least an E-4 promotable.
William S definitely do not lol
@@braxtynarmstrong5630 oh, well that's what I heard. I meant if you want to try out when you're already in the Army, not with an 18x

Not sure. Maybe they'll make an exception?
Another quick question. After you got dropped from sfas did you get to go right to rasp? Could you explain?
@@W1Z4RDCUDI there are options to go straight to rasp right now, but I picked mine up in AIT after I was reclassed.

What were your run times going into selection ? 2 miler and 5 miler
I didn't clock my 5 Mike time prior to selection but my 2 miler was 11:50ish.
How did you not have a 5 mile time prior to selection?
@@akiddray7831 I didn't even have a 5 miler in selection. 5 miles was a Ranger thing.
