This was a 5v6 in Ash's favor. Pikachu survives an Earth Power and a Stone Edge from Gastrodon, but Gastrodon is OHKOed by Quick Attack? Nah, this ain't it. Garchomp had Stealth Rock and three Dragon type moves, no Earthquake, Dig, or Fire Fang?
firstly the battle is a 6v6, and secondly pikachu didnt get hit by earth power or the stone edge.
@@f3rrsjust because it didn't hit doesn't mean it didn't survive. Pikachu survived by avoiding it.
Though the one hit ko quick attack was a bit overkill regardless of the rocks being put on Gastrodon.
Don't forget Cynthia didn't need to switch out because Spirit Tomb took the same damage regardless and would have still solo 3 of Ash's pokemon.

The pokeball recovering thing is more from the card game rules. In the card games, if you bench your pokemon, they recover from any conditions. Obviously, there's the energy cost of benching them to begin with.
