Don't get me wrong, it looks really good. But don't you think that Guilleman's armor looks A LOT MORE regal, special and "I'm something extra than the rest of you? Lion looks Apart from the awesome shield of course not much different from Astarte blade guard veteran. Imo he should have much more lion stuff. Like a roaring head on his torso, and he's knees need something. I'm definitely not a fan of the face. To old. To big mustache. And growing bald... just to much and to little. What do y'all say?🤔
@@Ewil.Bluetooth kinda strange you posted that as a response to my comment.. sure that wasn't designed for the main feed? But I like his look. It's toned down compared to Ultramarine Blue regalia, but The Lion is a more subtle and shadowy figure.
The Risen unit, sorry the companions 😉, made me as happy as a child receiving the best possible Santa present! I have collected fallen loyalists for more than 20 years. My patience was rewarded, firstly with the awesome novel Son of the Forest and then with this unit... And what a beautiful unit it is....Kudos to the painter for the 30k heraldry too...😉🙏👌
They’re likely just reinstated Deathwing Companions from the time of the Legion. The Dark Angels don’t have a proper command squad anymore with what looks like the Deathwing Command goin the way of the squats. And it’d make sense for the Lion to bring back Legion era units. Maybe we’ll get our Paladins back
It has to be common knowledge to the rest of the DA chapter about the risen. Because on the new Asmodai model release it says: "it’s Asmodai’s job to secure confessions from those Fallen who are far beyond the redemption offered by Lion El’Jonson."
No complaints on that reveal. I'm also glad that Deathwing Knights are now wearing helmets. Asmodai and Belial look great. I'm hoping Ezekiel is also coming out but they're keeping that secret for now. The upgrade sprue is nice too. Well done GW!
Be interesting to see if the Lion would be more willing to reinforce the Prime Absolvers with more Risen then than other DA successor chapters due to the fact they do not consider themselves unforgiven.
An idea that has been kicking around in my head: what if the Ris-COMPANIONS! are meant to be more of a standardizing and unifying force among The Lion’s sons? Lion has very much been channeling Green Knight vibes, a tester of champions. Perhaps his redeemed sons are to span out among all the unforgiven chapters and begin the process of testing the mettle of his disparate sons, and begin rebinding them into an unbroken halo? The First Legion redeemed, reforged, and reborn.
I hope the dark Angels company veterans box set still stays. I bought 13 boxes lately cause iam in a kitbash marathon to make my old Dark Angels army look more Dark Angely with all the robes etc. The old marines will be repainted into a different chapter only those that don't have the DA iconography
Idk what everyone else was predicting. But I thought we would hear of a Dark Angel successor chapter named "The Risen" from an unknown founding full of ancient wargear.
I think here pretty soon, I will be able to finally stand up to my buddies Black Templars, without pulling out, my teeth and hair in frustration. I'm really looking forward to the "Companions" for some odd reason. May the Emperor bless me with the means to get all of these awesome models within a reasonable amount of time.
Man the wolves update, whenever it is,will be amazing. Wolf guard, Logan, njal, arjak, some new upgrade kits, thunderwolves probably too. There's a lot of heirloom weapons floating around in those data cards ha.
@@BENR8108 actually to be honest they need that more than new minis. But new minis will solve it if they don't continue down the furry furry path. I absolutely hate the wolf wolf wolf dog puppies bs.
One of the first models ive seen with a scabbard. And hes got a sling for his storm bolter. This means, hes throught about and is entirely happy to stow both weapons and beat you to death with his non power fist hands. This man is ready to get stuck in.
it would seem that actions speak lounder than words. These former fallen are proving themselves to be true sons of the Lion. Much as happened in Arks of Omen. They are proving to the other Chapter Masters that they can be trusted, forgiven and Risen
I love the Companions. That Incubi Darkness green just really makes them stand out as true sons of the Lion. I think we'll see a shake up of the Dark Angels. Gone are the secrets of old, the reason for their receding hairlines 🤣, in their place stands the truth that the Imperium has lost itself and that the Lion will see it found.
About time the dark angels get a some need love. For while the black templars were in the Knightley order spot light, but I felt the dark angels need to turn up and show them how it's done. The dark angels are the knight's of the roundtable and black templars are the Crusaders. For loyalty is, it's own reward 🦁💚
I will be looking at the different helmets I have. I think tactically it is dumb to not have them on. I know, they are going for the rule of cool here. But in the end, it will be my model to do with as I want.
The new models look great and I completely understand why they went with the primaris style...but it does really stink that the risen models won't be able to be used as fallen anymore.
If they are the Risen then it killed all excitement I had for them. It was the fact all the Heresy Era characters were proper Space Marines in proper armour, not the ‘changed for the sake of copyright’ Primaris guff, that made me want to see more of them and even considered starting a DA army. They’re just more Primaris. There’s nothing about them that says anything other than modern, charcaterless 40K
Definitely a fantastic set new models .bank manager crys lol. Would love to see all the others legions get this level of love . And more love for xeno races
I hope they start talking about primaris and firstborn again.. Leaving it alone just isn't it. I hope they state that Asmodai and Belial crossed the Rubicon. Asmodai is in mkX so should have crossed, but they don't mention it.
I am not sure the rest of the unforgiven know the details of the fallen or luther. This is only known by the inner circle. So explaining to the unforgiven chapters who these companions are, would require a whole lot more explaining to the other unforgiven chapters. Perhaps sending out these companions to the unforgiven chapters is the best way to lay the foundation of a unified first legion
Sorry but the BLACK TEMPLARS Release was stronger imo. Helbrecht is greater then all of the other characters. Asmodei is close but all in all the sword brethren are a bit cooler then the risen although they are better then anything another chapter has.
I bet GW will stop talking about Primaris from now on. They will act as it was never a big thing, just some new armours and a few reenforcements. By now I think they now how well received that idea was and they no longer wish to push it, just try to live with the implications for the designs.
I'm sorry but can we just ruminate a second or seven on the fact that Lion El'Jonson, the most loyalist boy, just basically said, "I love all my kids and if anyone wants to fuck with them they're gonna meet me for a find out session... my dead daddy included." What the fuck! That's a goddamn king right there.
I don't believe that the risen will be a secret... They were showed in action to the DAs on Wyrmwood. They are great models however it is mentionned that the risen have a variety of weapons. Here they only have a sword and for 1 a pistol... weird...
The Lion may have trusted the Grand Masters before he met them. But not so much afterwards. Especially if he has learnt of some of the many crime the Unforgiven have committed against the Imperium of Man. A purge is due. And that may include some Grand Masters.
I still don't like the new DW knights. They don't hold a candle to the old set. And Belial should have gotten the chest Icon in his robe like the old model.
Thank you. I absolutely agree. The new Deathwing is so freaking bland. The companions are perfect examples of how chapter specific models should handle iconography - the same way the old Deathwing Terminators did. This one are so clearly just terminators with a few chest pieces, helmet and shoulder pads - the lack of detail is so disappointing.
@@erih2934 Yup, the key word is bland no doubt. Follows the recent trend of GW lazy space marine CAD design where they grab old bits from their library, slap a new sculpted part or two and call it a day.
@@PraetorGix The sad part is though that the CAD approach would make it so much easier to expand the detail work. I want a Sapphon model more than an Asmodai one. He is a character that deserves more of the spotlight
Yes, he’s a more interesting character than Asmodai.
Agreed. Either Asmodai gets some more interesting character development lore or I will keep wishing for Sapphon.
