He had to say something after mika’s performance 😉 im doing a mini doc on the competition between these two, its very clear that Senna was aware of how strong mika could become

What else would to say Ayrton..?. In reality someone said that Ayrton don't tried to belive, becouse he was deep sure about his supremacy in qualifying. Half thent of second.., i just want a lot look them lap compaction, but unfortunaly the footage not exist. Let me understand, the king of one lap is batted for one time but us can't look in which way ?!!.

@@paolociarpaglini1303 yes, one time. the other ones Senna was quicker. in Adelaide there was no story between them.

@@sargatanas88 Yes, but this is covered in the 1993 TV documentary series A Season with Mclaren. Senna had a problem with his engine during this qualifying session. Whatsmore people forget that Hakkinen was the Mclaren test driver in 1993. He had covered more miles in that car than anyone else. Where were the majority of those miles covered? Estoril

At 0:09 there is Juha Kankkunen (4th time World Rally Champion) behind Mika. That time he had won it two times.

I wish Häkkinen should have been driven full season in 1993 if Andretti Jr. never moved to F1.

I do as well, but you have to consider in a lot of tests Andretti was very quick. McLaren were confused why Andretti was so fast in testing and shocking on a race weekend.

I wish Hakkinen would have gotten that 1993 drive for Williams. Williams intended to sign Hakkinen for 1993 but Lotus's manager Peter Hunt (brother of world champion James Hunt) blocked this movie and maintained that Hakkinen still had a contract with Lotus. Williams didn't have time to wait for Hakkinen to get out of his Lotus contract and therefore signed Damon Hill. By the time Hakkinen was free from Lotus that Williams seat was already taken. Lucky for Hakkinen McLaren were really interested in him as well and signed him for a drive in 1993. At the time it appeared as if would be Mike Andretti and Mika Hakkinen as McLaren's drivers in 1993 while Senna took a sabbatical. As things transpired Senna discovered that the new MP4/8 was quite to his liking in 1993 tests and he got Ron Dennis to sign him for a race-per-race contract reportedly worth 1 million dollars.
Mike Andretti meanwhile actually *commuted* (!) from the USA in order to attend the races and never really found his feet within the team. He might have had potential but he squandered it himself.
Hakkinen meanwhile was the bargain of the century in the early 1990's. Pity McLaren went through difficult times with Peugeot and the early years of Mercedes.
