Jackie and Becky, still angry at Darlene, agree to attend Thanksgiving dinner at the Conner house. Dan invites Louise and also allows Odessa to come, despite having banned her from the house. During the celebration, Jackie and Darlene feud over re-opening the Lunch Box, their respective family roles, and other long-buried resentments, resulting in Jackie angrily slapping Darlene. Harris, upset by the family turmoil, leaves to stay with Odessa, who is later discovered to have been living on her own for five years. Darlene allows Harris to stay overnight to cool off. Dan persuades Darlene to let Becky and Jackie reopen the restaurant. Becky moves back into the house.

It's so weird to see Peg Bundy sitting on another sitcom's sofa.
Not sure why. She has been on a few.
The part when Jackie slaps Darlene is shocking to me because Darlene as a teen and her aunt Jackie were so close.

Old Roseanne would never. I remember the episode where DJ crashed the family car in a ditch and Roseanne spanked him and had to tearfully apologize to him because her own dad use to beat her and Jackie with a belt.
I think Bev, despite still being alive around this time, somehow found a way to, albeit temporarily, transfer her conscious into Darlene.
I never could stomach Darlene.

I know I will be the odd man out here, and I apologize for being insulting (to those who may think I am). But, I won't watch the show, though I have stumbled onto this scene of "The Conners". The introduction of a black girl is actually quite artificial, and unnecessary; a token attempt at simulating "diversity". It throws the whole show off, as does killing Roseanne by turning her into a drug addict. The black kid does not belong on the set, in as much as a white kid didn't belong on "The Cosby's" or "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", therefore, the cast was all black in those families. There's nothing wrong with an ALL-WHITE FAMILY. Let's not forget that, shall we? I won't watch this show. This is ridiculous, as is the premise of the series without the star, Roseanne Barr.
Look around you when you're outside: ain't all that white.

DJ married a black wome and had a biracial child who inherited mostly her mom's genes. You realise that right. You just admitted you refuse to watch the show simply because of a child's skin colour. It's 2023 let's be honest shows like Fresh Prince and The Cosby show were created because white execs and producers didn't want to be around or hire black entertainers hence why those shows were made.
But there is other diverse groups that wouldn’t have “fit” the narrative in the 80’s either. You’re only talking about the BLACKKID. What about Darlene’s son that dresses like a girl? Or, the fact that Becky got pregnant by a Hispanic. It feels like diversity vomit and I agree with you on that. But targeting solely the black presence makes you seem racist kid.
