    I meant for this video to go up a week or so ago, but it took way longer to edit than I had anticipated. Apologies for that!
    But I basically go through my 2023 Letterboxd Year in Review. I never got the chance to share what I watched last year, so here it is.
    Follow me on all social platforms but ESPECIALLY Letterboxd: @inn_mho
    Also:
    1) This is not an ad for Letterboxd. But Letterboxd if you're watching...hi.
    2) That notebook is exactly what you think it is.
    3) Take a sip every time I mention Cate Blanchett. 🤪

    i've been a tv over film person for a long time and while I have been trying to watch all the classic films to rectify that, i still feel like I will always prefer tv. when i say tv i mean when we had 22 episodes of desperate housewives per season. i hate the miniseries approach by the streaming companies. or maybe its the viewers that prefer shorter stories these days ?/ IDK, i feel like maybe its an instant gratification kinda environment we are living in, coz i'm also not a fan of 1 minute long songs. LOL (sorry for the rant)

      No worries, Nivea. I think this is a really valid point. There’s been discussion/debate online that TV doesn’t know how to “TV” anymore. There’s a part of me that misses the 22 episodes/season format as well.

    You do your deep dives just based on the talent etc… my Vanessa deep dive was just because I think she’s hot 🤷🏽‍♂️ half the movies aren’t great but I just get to look at her for a bit.

    • @innmyhumbleopinion
      @innmyhumbleopinion  8 месяцев назад +1

      I mean to be fair, mine is largely talent but also how hot they are, lolll.
      And to think when you get to those Vanessa Christmas movies, you get MULTIPLE Vanessas.

    Can u do review for May December? I’d ❤ to hear your thoughts about this movie.

    • @innmyhumbleopinion
      @innmyhumbleopinion  8 месяцев назад +1

      Ooooh - idk if it’s too late for me to do a review on May December since it came out a while ago. I was thinking of maybe making a video about movies that I wish got more attention/more love from the Oscars - May December being one of them. But in case that doesn’t happen, I absolutely loved May December. It’s one of my favorites of 2023. I think Natalia’s Portman getting to work with Todd Haynes was a great match. Loved seeing yet another collab between Haynes & Julianne Moore. And Charles Melton - ugh, he should’ve got more love this awards season. I think what I love about May December and Todd Haynes in general is that it’s a movie that gives room for the actors to act.

      @@innmyhumbleopinion Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this movie. Very impactful film, I’ve been thinking about it ever since I saw it. Depicted nuances from Natalie & Julianne were mesmerizing.

    As for established actress, maybe Glenn Close or Kate Winslet?
    As for star-on-the-rise, maybe Anya Taylor Joy or Florence Pugh?

    • @innmyhumbleopinion
      @innmyhumbleopinion  8 месяцев назад +1

      Ooooh - Glenn Close. And I actually had Kate Winslet in my mind as well. I've also thought Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman, Angela Bassett, or Viola Davis would be good, too. So many options!
      Yep. Totally had both of those names on that list. I think Anya Taylor Joy in particular is a fave amongst that age group.

    Steffi, I really do like the direction you are going. I will have to check out the new site--seems VERY organized and easy to follow. I am down the rabbit hole of True Detective right now. IMO, Coleman Domingo is FINALLY getting his due! He deserves it! See you soon!!

    When you flashed the scene with Blanchett that started your deep dive, I had to go see that you were talking about Carol probably. EDIT: I see that you talked later in the video about covering Carol extensively in your diva dailies and you saw it four times.

      Thanks for always being interested in whatever I end up blabbing about, Chance. 😂 Idk if it’s too late for me to do a Top 10 of 2023, BUT - I was thinking of potentially making some Oscar related videos. So there might be some overlap there. Also, a majority of the movies I did watch last year were older releases. 😂
      More videos to come soon, for sure. I think I finally committed to my first video essay topic on a whim, lol. And to your last point, it’s actually kind of TV related!
