Yes. He is performing without the band and Trevor Dunn wrote the entire song, so yes, he is covering a Mr? Bungle song where he happens to be the singer in the band and sang this song expressly written by another bandmate. If Gedde Lee went and did a bunch of Rush songs without Alex and Neal(RIP), some of them would be covers, as Neal wrote the lyrics and arranged a substantial portion of those songs.

Yikes Mike's voice in Retrovertigo was painful. Have been following his career since 1990 and the first time i had ever heard him start to struggle with his singing was in 2015 during the Sol Invictus live shows. Happens to the best of em.
It saddens me to see Patton aging, losing that vocal control he had more than anyone else.

@@travisspaulding9540 he's not fine.. he's still a good singer but he's losing a big part of the appeal of his voice. All the recent tomahawk, faith no more albums of the last decade show that. He's singing in that low growly register mostly now.
It seems like it’s mostly his upper range that’s degenerating. He sounds fine in lower registers.
I actually don't think it's his voice that's the problem it's the songs that aren't a challenge for him. He's had a lifetime of pulling off some of the hardest vocal performances most vocalists would shy away from. He's just too good. What I hear is somebody used to performing with live rock bands and rowdy audiences holding back because he's unsure of how much to project over a single piano in a concert hall.

Different publishing, different management, different bunch of suits making money from FNM and Patton. Therefore, this is a cover. A brilliant one at that! Peace and love to y'all!
