yes there is a connection they are pretty much one and the same as you can see fused form of Melina and Ranni if you dont sacrfice Melina and if you go with the frenzy flame ending where she sats she is going to kill you. Also Melina is a black knife assasin and Ranni ochestrated the knight of the black blades so you can make your theories from that.

@@Rinnekai When you are in the capital city and take the elevator down to the forbidden lands (where snow is) and while going down the elevator you turn towards the capital city and you will see a secret room in the elevator shaft. When you enter there, you will find evidence related to Melina.

19:15 - Maybe in a DLC or expansion there will be a theme of getting to the past. Let's think. This is nothing new. The theme of the past has been present in all Dark Souls games. In DS1 there was an Oolacile theme, in DS2 there was memories, in DS3 we had a future theme in Firelink Shrine where the fire went out and we fought the first boss again. Although it was never fully explained, and there was a moment in the Ringed City where a disturbance of time and space took place. In Sekiro, we return to forgotten memories. In Bloodborne we also have themes related to time and space. I won't be surprised if we go back in time in the Elden Ring. After all, in Elden Ring when we fight a dragon with two heads (he lost the third one) what happens before the fight? How do we get there? Time stops and then reverses. The buildings return to their original form before the cataclysm. We love their games. They're awesome. You can see the difference between a game created out of passion and one that is just a product that is supposed to enrich the corporation.
