A new adventure is about to dawn in The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak!
Van Arkride is a spriggan, an underground professional that accepts work from any client and acts as a detective, negotiator or bounty hunter with no allegiance. You might need to improve your reading comprehension, friend. Nobody said the translations were good, or that it was accurate.
Like you said, its irrelevant to YOU if the quality of translation isn't up to your standard. There's plenty of people who are excited to simply have the opportunity to experience these games on their preferred platform.
If you have any issues with the quality of a game, it seems idiotic to voice those frustrations towards the consumer rather than the creator.

I was a LITTLE disappointed with Quatre's choice of VA. It's not BAD, but not exactly a good fit considering....certain elements. Still, it's a good lineup overall.

@emincash6931 he probably means so soon after reverie since we only just got the game this summer. Nisa is scum but real talk they putting in work. They released crossbell games, reverie, and nayuta within the year. Seeing kuro being announced after seems like a fever dream since ppl were alrdy expecting kuro to be 2025 or longer.

March 2023: Release the JP PC version of Kuro.
Summer 2024: Release the English version on ps4 and switch and patch the pc version with English Text and Audio.
They WILL took bad by the time even Kuro 1 gets its English dub Japan will already have Kuro 3 RELEASED first so by the time Kuro 3 get Its English dub the NEXT NO kiseki game probably Remiferia region will already be out in Japan.

Well Japan makes the games faster then it takes to dub them and Falcom of Japan won't even ALLOW English dubs to be worked on until 1 YEAR after the current game is released in Japan so yes Kuro 3 will likely be released in Japan before the end of September NEXT year.

The graphics improvement is great, but that may cause switch version to run at 540p instead of Cold Steel's 720p on portable mode. I guess it's time to Buy a ps5 to enjoy next trails games at it's best

This is the start of a new set of Trails- it's a starting point, and has some of my favorite gameplay of any game ever!
This is a good starting point, but I recommend playing previous games in order: Sky 1-3, Zero/Azure, Cold Steel 1-4/Reverie. I know that there are a lot of games, but they are worth the effort. Playing This game with the knowledge of the previous titles really enhances the experience.

This is amazing. Thanks to Final Fantasy's decline in quality I ended up discovering the Trails series, which became my favorite RPG series of all time.
I started playing Trails of Cold Steel 1&2, which made me want to play the entire series from thr begining because of the quality of the story, characters, world building, turn based battle system, etc... so I played thr 3 games of Trails in The Sky on Steam (this arch deserves a remake), finished Trails from Zero, from the Crossbell arch, and am finishing Tails to Azure right now.
I already bought Trails of Cold Steel 3&4, which I'll play after replaying 1&2... and for Reverie I'm waiting for a sale to buy it...
The thing is that Nihon Falcom is amazing and anyone that likes RPGs must play this series... it's the best in the entire videogames industry.

Woah! Basically every Trails game except the Sky trilogy are available on the Switch, this is great. I don't think anyone was expecting this to happen so soon. (also, hoping that the Sky trilogy is released on Switch soon).
Edit - Cold Steel 1 and 2 aren't in English, but at least they have English patches. Most early Switches are moddable, so it isn't too hard to mod unless you have a later revision which requires a chip.
You also missing cold steel 1 and 2. You need to ask Xseed about that.

Cold Steel 1 and 2 are not of switch and cold steel is best on ps or pc as unfortunately cs3 at least doesn't run that great

As a PC player, and series enjoyer, I'm buying it. This took me by surprise, and it's not even a Friday.
If you are a PC player, you can play it rn in english with the fanpatch. The PC version is already available in JPN only atm.
Just play it right now instead. Fanpatch is miles ahead of the garbage NISA will shit out.
Finally the next port, should be caught up by then. Been grinding through the trails series (from the duology and onward) and up to CS4 right now.

That's not going to happen by the time this one/KURO 1 for its English dub is released Japan will likely already have Kuro 3 BEING released FIRST on the PS4/PS5.
But of the 2 Kuro games in Japan on the PS4 the first of the 2 did NOT have high speed mode which Btw the high speed mode applied to BOTH the turned based battles as well as the battles that play like any given YS game ONLY the PS5 version of Kuro 1 included the speed mode boosts.
@@veghesther3204 We're never getting same-day international releases, but once upon a time we were five games behind Japan. As of right now we're only two games behind. And once Daybreak 1 releases over here, we'll be just one game behind for a few months, and that's assuming Daybreak 3 even releases in Japan in 2024. It sounds like Falcom might be cooking up something else for 2024 instead, though. If Daybreak 3 ends up releasing in Japan in 2025, and we get Daybreak 2 that same year, we will actually be just one game behind them, which is honestly great pacing.
@@veghesther3204 it sounds like Kuro 3 might not release until 2025 and with the last 2 being September releases and the Reverie and this being Summer releases in English and only a year apart, there's at least a chance that Kuro 2 comes out in English Summer of 2025 and we are caught up if only for a few months.
But Kuro 3 in Japan is likely TO be released before the English dub of Kuro 1 that's why by the time Kuro 3 gets a English dub Japan will likely cover the NEXT game in the series and so far theirs at least 2 regions that we didn't go to Remiferia/North Umbria.

I only got into Trails at the beginning of 2023, but it has quickly become my new favorite series by far.
ATLUS used to be my JRPG main staple, but they really sh¡t the bed when they became the Persona 5 company. (I am so over Persona 5 now.)
The Christmas-like excitement I used to feel every time a new game or new merch was released for ATLUS is dead... and instead claiimed by Trails!
Can;t wait for this game, and just a couple of hours ago, the Kotobukiya Joshua Bright figure was announced as their next Trails figure!

I think this pretty much guarantees that the sequel will be on the Switch. They're running on the same engine, so if they can get this running on Switch, the next shouldn't be a problem.
I’ve played through the entire series from Sky FC to Reverie in the last year and a half, Reverie coming to a finish last week. Such an awesome announcement coming right off of that game!

how is the combat in terms of action? I'm not a big turn based fan but I've always been interested in the series
@@blahbliff9726Daybreak has a mix of real time and turn based combat. You can battle basic enemies freely on the field and switch to turn based on the fly.
@blahbliff9726 it's a much more active combat style! Almost actiony, but not quite ys levels of action rpg.
@@blahbliff9726 The action combat serves as a way to dispose of weak monsters or to gain an advantage in turn based combat. All important battles are fought turn based, though you are able to move freely on the field during your characters turn and position where you want.

They can't. Xseed owns the rights to sky trilogy, cs1, and cs2 in the west and they cut ties with Falcom ages ago
@@LilT2o00XSeed only holds the rights for English version and publishes the versions already available in Japan. It all depends on Falcom whether they want to release Sora trilogy on modern consoles or not, or from third party publishers like DotEmu that released English physical version of Ys Origin on PS4, Vita, and Switch.

I heard that unlike Liberl, Crossbell, and Erebonia it's a genuinely crappy place to live in, with alcoholics, divorcees, and suicidal people in a place with horrible traffic jams and brutalist-modernist architecture so that's going to be an interesting juxtaposition with the idyllic rest of West Zemuria.

@@omensoffate personally, I've never played Trails for the graphics. I mean Cold Steel III/IV are hardly peak graphics of the time. I play Trails for the stories, characters, battle systems and music. I really don't care if it's not in 8k at 5 million fps

I kinda wish they kept the original voices for this trailer, but thankfully after some digging I realized that this is their old 2 years ago trailer, so I just watched that since I hadn't seen it back then cause I knew a huge wait was inevitable and I didn't wanna hype myself too early.
Bergard's voice actor sounds like Dave Fennoy (Lee Everett) to me but maybe I'm just crazy.

Coming earlier than expected, thats exciting! A little confused about the name choice to be honest, from "Kuro" to "Daybreak". I expected something along the lines of darkness.
The Kanji Kuro on the title means Dawn or Daybreak, they chose Daybreak probably because other games also has Dawn in them like FF 14 Dawntrail or Tales of Arise beyond the Dawn.

Even if you are new to the series, I strongly recommend to play all games, not because of gatekeeping but because part of the charm about the whole saga is the massive worldbuilding. Sure you can watch a recap but some things won’t hit the same
